Carbide saw blades, router bits and drill bits are recommended, and thinner blades with fewer than 20 teeth are preferred because they wear longer and do not easily heat up. Pilot holes are recommended when installing balusters and handrails. When drilling, periodically remove the drill and clear away shavings.
