Some towns always seem to be successful, no matter what year it is, or how well the overall economy is doing. Goodyear is one of those towns. From its not-so-humble beginnings as a purchase of one of the world's largest rubber companies, this town in the Estrella Mountains has always been a prime destination for people who want to advance in their careers, while maintaining a good life--one rich with family and friends--outside of work. Charlotte Glass, a member of the Arizona Tourism Board, says it all, "What do I like best about Goodyear? Definitely the small, hometown feel."

Goodyear excels in business in part because of its friendly, open attitude, which also makes the city such a welcoming place for new residents. Not surprisingly, with its lifelong entrepreneurial bent, the city is doing well economically, and even inviting new businesses to town, such as recent additions Dick's Sporting Goods and Amazon. Goodyear can handle all this new talent; with easy access to freeway, the area is ready to go, wherever the future leads. City officials are always working to find new ways to attract and accommodate growth. In a few years from now, Goodyear will certainly top lists of the best places to live in the country.

Home to many master-planned communities, Goodyear is no stranger to excellent public planning. Everything in this city caters to residents. Amenities such as the pool and local parks serve families and outdoors enthusiasts, while a dog park and a skate park are reserved for those whose interests are more specialized. With striking desert scenery all around you, residents live a large part of their lives outdoors.

Goodyear also benefits from a useful mixture of chains and local businesses. To be sure, all your favorites are here, such as Mimi's Cafe, Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden, Chili's, and Applebee's. But the city maintains an emphasis on local businesses and amenities, which support the livelihood of the community as a whole. You won't be here very long before you'll be tempted by the cuisine of locally-owned restaurants such as Sala Thai Restaurant and Bruno's Pizza.

If you're moving to Goodyear, be prepared to look good, with the West Side's best shopping at Litchfield Road. Whether you need a Super Target, J.C.Penney, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Lowe's, Michael's, Party City, PetSmart, Pier 1, Ross, or Toys R Us, Goodyear has you covered.

The future is at the heart of this enterprising little city, and that means looking out for the welfare of area children. Not only are authorities planning a new mall and a new civic center, they also constantly strive to improve the school systems. They've done well already: local Millennium High School is in the top 5 percent of high schools in the country. Nearby New Desert Edge High School, the first LEED-certified high school in Arizona, allows kids to learn for the future, not for the past. When children finally graduate from school, now young adults, they can be assured of a bright future, and they won't have to go far to find it: higher education, in the form of Franklin Pierce University, is located right within the area.

Goodyear is great at planning for its future. Let New Home Source help you plan for yours.
