About Unicorn Contracting Corp.
The Residences at Butterfield are walking distance to the West Point Foundry Preserve, one of the most important sites in the American industrial revolution, and to the Putnam Historical Museum. With a short drive, you’ll arrive at Boscobel House and Gardens, the home of wealthy Loyalists in the early 1800s, and which now offers tours, trails, and nights of musical entertainment including the Shakespeare Festival. The Magazzino Italian Art Museum, on Route 9, is devoted to postwar and contemporary Italian art. Also in the area is the Bear Mountain State Park, where you can enjoy the Trailside Museums and Zoo. A short distance from the park is West Point, home to the United States Military Academy, the West Point Museum, the Thayer Hotel and the Eisenhower Theater. Other destinations nearby include Stonecrop Gardens, a 15-acre site with woodland and water gardens; and Breakneck Ridge Loop, a challenging hike worth the amazing views. Bannerman Castle, an abandoned military surplus warehouse, sits on the 6.5-acre Pollepel Island, about 1,000 feet from land in the Hudson River. Tours from nearby Beacon include a 30-minute boat ride to the island. Beacon also features the contemporary art museum Dia:Beacon, galleries, shops and Victorian homes. Beacon is about 10 minutes from The Residences at Butterfield.
