Castle Pines in Colorado is a young city that came into existence in 2008 thanks to popular vote. The city is located on the edge of the Great Plains which lie east of Rocky Mountains.
The city boasts of 5 parks along with trails that are 14 miles in length and 8-feet wide to allow various activities like walking and bicycling to take place simultaneously. Motor vehicles are not allowed on the trail.
The five parks in the city are its main attraction. They spread out over natural areas covered with great fauna and a challenging landscape. Apart from running and jogging, these parks can also serve as great locations for picnic, barbecue or just a get together.
There are also two wonderful natural areas which lend themselves to great activities. These are the Daniels Park and Cherokee Castle and Ranch.
The former is spread over more than 1000 acres and provides great vistas of the mountains as well as beautiful rock formations. The most attractive thing about the park is that it is a habitat of the bison and a large part of it is a reserve.
Cherokee Castle and Ranch is located on a mountain with a commanding view of wildlife protected areas. Many wild animals like antelopes, bears, cougars etc. can be spotted from here.
Among these houses, you will find simple yet elegant, classical style two-storey homes as well as more lavish Villas spread over a larger area and with a lot more open space.
Some of these communities command a beautiful view of the mountains and the rugged terrain surrounding the city.
All in all, a unique landscape with relaxing waterfront setting awaits you in Castle Pines.
