Consequently, the area has an ideal living environment with great climate throughout the year. The housing structures are also of a high standard with most being either newly built or renovated to perfection thus giving you a mix of several time periods to choose from. East Macon has recently gone through massive transformations especially in its infrastructure. This is to help increase its economic status in the area and create loads of jobs in the process. One of the proposed projects is the Mill Hill-East Macon Arts Village which looks to revitalize and improve the historic Fort Hawkins neighborhood so as to create more economic opportunities in the area.
East Macon also has great shopping centers which not only offer great retail stores and departments but also excellent dining and entertainment venues like theaters and clubs. Northeast Plaza shopping center and Baconsfield shopping center are just a few of the exceptional shopping and entertainment venues.
