The focal point is Lake Lillian containing a small fishing dock, several picnic pavilions and a walking trail. Dunnellon, population 1,733, is located on the Rainbow and Withlacoochee rivers and considers itself the “Treasure of the Nature Coast”. Ocala, population 56,315, is steeped in history but prides itself on being a modern successful and thriving community. The small Victorian town of McIntosh, population 486, is situated approximately 20 miles south of Gainesville, has changed little since the 1930’s. Reddick, population 571, was founded in 1882 and still enjoys quiet streets, minimal traffic and a strong sense of community.
