Katy, TX has evolved into a great suburban area over the decades. Situated just west of Houston, residents of Katy enjoy all the big city comforts within a driving distance while living a calm and peaceful life at home. The city is a part of a metropolitan area consisting of Houston, Katy, Woodlands, and Sugar Land; and falls within three counties namely; Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties of Texas.

Katy was known as the Cane Islands in the 1800s after a creek which was filled with a tall cane which was not native to the area. The name "Katy" came to be known through the MKT Railroad Company in 1895 which was often referred to as K-T and which also later became the symbol of the city’s stock exchange. The name soon evolved into Katy from there.

The city of Katy enjoys pleasant warm weather throughout the year, though summers can sometimes get humid. Its warm weather allows Katy to have a number of water parks and swimming facilities, which is what you will find here in abundance. Whether you want one with long and twisting slides or a simple swimming spot, you can find it in Katy. And, not only water parks but Katy also offers visitor a lot of parks, creeks, arcade centres, hiking and biking trails, its very own Museum and fun activities all year round.

As one of the best places to live in Houston, Katy is a growing suburban area that offers the comfort and peace of a small city with plenty of activities to keep you happy. Whether you're retiring or raising a family, Katy is a fantastic suburb to call home.
