Home of the Week: Daphne Plan by Keller Homes

Do you long for the days of the 1940s and 1950s, when mid-century modern homes were all the rage? If so, you’re in luck, because the Daphne plan by Keller Homes brings that design style to the 21st century.

Keller Home’s Daphne plan is featured in this year’s Parade of Homes – Colorado Springs, showcasing the best in what newly built homes offer. The four-bedroom, three-bath home is 3,713 sq. ft. of entertaining and living space that’s ideal for busy families.

“Directly inspired by the mid-century modern themes prevalent throughout the western United States from the late 1940s to through the mid-1960s, the Daphne offers distinctive, unified style throughout,” Keller Homes states on its Parade of Homes page. “The integration of landscape, site planning and architecture to promote overall neighborhood aesthetic, ensures lasting appeal and value.”

The Daphne plan features some of mid-century modern architecture’s defining characters such as gables, vaulted ceilings, and exposed beams. The best part of this mid-century modern ranch house is its emphasis on indoor-outdoor living. With an open floor plan and large windows, the Daphne plan is built for entertaining.

“Our goal was to create a balance between urban living and a casual upscale feel while respecting the integrity of the modern architecture,” writes Keller Homes. “Stepping through the front door you are drawn to continue into the main living space with volume, transom windows and fun, bold color, in furnishings, art, and accessories.”

In addition to the spacious living areas and bedrooms, the home includes a lower-level rec room that can be used as a media room, bar and more.

What’s it like living in the Elan community?

“Pockets of natural scrub oak dot the neighborhood, miles of trails connect the entire community and many homes back to open space,” writes Keller Homes about Elan on its Parade of Homes page. “The unique natural surroundings encouraged an emphasis on a variety of textures and colors while eliminating excessive decorative elements.”

So, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful architecture that takes its cue from its natural surroundings. Like many places in Colorado, this new-home community puts an emphasis on the outdoors. The community is part of the master-planned community of Cordera that boasts a pool with splash pad, a fitness center and a five-acre grand lawn that hosts family-friendly events throughout the year.
