Indoor space designed and decorated using the Italian style that centralises of rustic yet stylish items.

Overlook Plan Four in Lone Tree, Colo., by Celebrity Communities.

When thinking of a Tuscan interior design style, think “Under the Tuscan Sun,” because this style features a rustic, sunbaked look. You’ll see crumbling stone, simple yet sturdy furnishings, beautiful iron accents, terracotta tiles, textured walls and detailed murals. Interior architecture usually includes rough plaster walls that soar into a worn-beam ceiling. And there will be plenty of unfiltered, natural light. Inspired by the sunny, beautiful landscapes of Italy, this interior design style uses natural and earthy materials and colors mixed with an appreciation of quality finishes to construct fascinating and luxurious homes. From the floors, walls to the ceilings, just about any natural texture will do, as will artistic ceramic mosaics. When choosing décor, wrought-iron furniture will do just fine. As will solid, sustainable furniture made of dark, rustic woodwork. Search for hand-carved details and extras like old pottery and other unique antiques.

Distinguishing Elements:
• Earthy color palettes
• Usage of terracotta, stone, mosaics and warn woods
• Wrought-iron accents
• Rough plaster walls
• Beamed ceilings
• Simple, bare windows
