Urbana is a quiet suburban community in Frederick County, Maryland, 37 miles northwest of Washington, DC, and 40 miles west of Baltimore, MD. Sugarloaf Mountain, 9 miles south of Urbana, is a small mountain and park close to the village of Barnesville, which is about a mile from the foot of the mountain. The peak of the mountain is approximately 800 feet above the surrounding farmland. Sugarloaf is a great hiking spot. Urbana also has its own YMCA
