The Courts of Arcadia
Another small community tucked within Columbia, Arcadia is a city within a city- A quick bit of history surrounds this small township- "Located in the 2288 acre tract known in the 1880’s as the Douglas mill tract, Arcadia Lakes was first agricultural land that was composed of lakes with towering pine trees. Seeking to avoid the hustle of the metropolitan areas of Columbia, a few adventurous families moved to the country during the early 1900’s primarily settling on multi-acre tracts. With more than 800,000 residents across six counties, the greater metropolitan region (commonly referred to as the Midlands) has the second largest population in South Carolina. Columbia, the state's capital city, stretches across Richland and Lexington counties. In 1917, Fort Jackson (then Camp Jackson) was established for army training during World War I. The installation is now the U.S. Army's largest and most active Initial Entry Training Center. Like much of the Southeastern United States, Columbia enjoys its fair share of hot days in the summer, but this region doesn't slow down with a full slate of summer events and things to do. Here you can enjoy mild winters with an occasional 70-degree day for good measure. Fall and spring are beautiful and pleasant.Visit the website Free brochure
