West Lakes

West Lakes is an exciting family-friendly community located in Munster, Indiana, a highly-desirable Chicago area suburb situated about a half-hour from the city. Hammond borders the town to its north, Highland to its east, Dyer and Schererville to its south, and Lansing and Lynwood, west of the Illinois border. There are three small lakes located in Munster, and the town is bordered on the north side by the Little Calumet River.

Munster is home to ten parks, a nine-hole golf course, a driving range, eleven miles of cycling paths, and a public art & sculpture program. The award-winning Centennial Park was built on a former landfill and incorporated environmentally-friendly design elements. Methane gas is captured from the landfill and converted to electricity, powering the park.
