Smith Custom Builders

Founded by Wilbur O. Smith in 1958, Wilbur O. Smith & Son, Inc built over 200 custom homes in the Dover area. Wilbur a Master carpenter, and his dedicated wife Marjorie started their company on August 10, 1958 , the day their son David was born. At a young age David ( now Dave) began his carpentry apprenticeship at this fathers side. Since that time Dave has come in to his own and taken the reins of the company, expanding the territory to encompass over 275 custom homes built in Central Delawares finest communities . We are now a proud third generation custom builder as Daves son, Mike Smith has recently graduated from college with a degree in Business and Construction Management, and joined our Construction team. With a combined 85 years of practical experience we are prepared to handle any residential or light commercial project.
