Villa Heights is one of CharlotteÆs inner-ring neighborhoods. The neighborhood originated around 1900 when Charlotte real estate developer Clayton O. Brown purchased a tract of land north of the old County Home Road (which is now Parkwood Avenue) and marketed the area as Villa Heights subdivision.Road-wise, the neighborhood is generally considered to be bordered by Parkwood Avenue/The Plaza, Clemson Avenue, Matheson Avenue, and N. Davidson St. The neighborhoods surrounding Villa Heights include Optimist Park, Belmont, Plaza Midwood, NoDa, Plaza Hills and Plaza Shamrock.
