PATRIOT High Performance Homes is a venture by Shane Durkin to build custom homes to a higher standard of durability, efficiency, and health using modern day materials, advanced construction techniques, and building best practices. Durkin attended college at the U.S. Naval Academy where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and played on the varsity lacrosse team for four years. He was selected to become a Navy SEAL Officer and moved to California in 2009. He lead his class of several hundred SEAL candidates through eighteen months of training. During his SEAL career he gained unparalleled experience leading and managing special operations across the globe at the highest level. Following his service, he earned an MBA from the University of Colorado Booth School of Business with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics, and entrepreneurship. Durkin's approach to custom home building and construction management combines a deep knowledge of building science, proficiency in project management and operations, CPA-level accounting, and an entrepreneurial spirit to integrate the best construction practices across all aspects of a new build. Durkin considers the quality of the experience to be just as important as the quality of the home. This is why his communication and organization is unmatched. Durkin values hard work, integrity, personal accountability, and opportunities to learn. He became a builder because he is passionate about understanding how things work and how to create them better in both composition and process.
