Garret Homes, one of Michigan's oldest family-owned builders, creates communities that stand the test of time and homes that reflect their clients' high standards. Garrett Homes has a rich and fascinating history that dates back to 1906. E.W. Eyster founded the corporation as a Detroit property development and real estate corporation under the same name, and it relocated to Royal Oak in 1933.

L.C. Ladd worked as a real estate salesman for Eyster's team in 1924. When Eyster retired in 1947, he sold the company to Ladd, and it was soon renamed Ladd's, Inc. Ladd sold the company to his sales manager, Joel A. Garrett, shortly after moving to the thriving suburb of Troy in 1961.

The firm constructed over 100 subdivisions in southeastern Michigan under the guidance of Joel and his children Dale and Ann, including Emerald Lakes in Troy, Avon Lakes Village in Rochester Hills, Barclay Lake Village, and Clear Spring Lake in Shelby Township.

The owner, Joel, has a goal to build luxury homes on gorgeous lands. Ann Sobey, Joel's daughter, now leads Ladd's, Inc. Ann and the Garrett Homes team strive to achieve Joel's goal of great home development by providing unrivaled building, design, and sales experience, great customer service, and a commitment to perfection worthy of their great reputation.
