Unique Homes' president, James MacDowell, has been building and restoring homes in the Atlanta area for over 35 years. He is a proud member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and the Atlanta Remodelers Council, in addition to being one of the first builders ever certified by the State of Georgia.

James and his staff have the kind of knowledge that only comes from having built and renovated thousands of houses. They value giving back to their neighborhood, and they feel that being a good neighbor requires more than just building houses. They regularly donate to philanthropic organizations in and around Atlanta, such as HomeAid, Care Days, and the Decatur Children's Home, and they have even funded two Habitat for Humanity houses. In 2010, he was named builder of the year by HomeAid Care Days.
