Because of the extreme slope, the Big Bear Cabin, also known as "Silvertip" after the street on which it was built, grew from a small 30 x 36' footprint into a massive 2500 ft. sq. three-story structure with a 30 x 36' footprint. This Villa Family Retreat, located in the forest of lower Moonridge, near Big Bear Lake, California, was a pleasure to design and build. Development of High-Technology HW Development constructed the Villa-designed building, which was completed in 2006. The sprawling layout with the interior courtyard was made possible by the large round pad on the property. The fact that this layout has a clear line of sight to the outside makes it “feel right.” The Kaywood Residence was designed and built by Villa & Associates Inc. in 2005 in the Escondido Foothills area of San Diego County. This lot presented some difficulties due to the slope and drainage, but it was well worth the effort to get that breathtaking view. For more than 30 years, J. Villa & Company has provided residential building design, construction documents, and permit processing services to clients. On new residential designs and remodels, we collaborate closely with the homeowners.
