J.D. Eicher Builder, Inc.

In 1977, James D. Eicher founded J.D. Eicher Builder, Inc. A native of Fauquier County, Mr. Eicher began his construction career in 1965 working for his grandfather-in-law, W.J. Hanback. Hanback was known for the construction of Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, and the Mellon Estate in Middleburg.

William Eicher, Mr. Eicher’s son, began working in the field as a laborer, learning from master carpenters eventually becoming a foreman running projects from the field. He moved into the office in 1998 bringing innovative procedures to ensure the tradition of quality and customer satisfaction the company has built it’s 40 years on. Rachelle Eicher, Will's wife, began working with the company in 2002 and brings meticulous oversight to all project accounting and office administration. Today, the company also employs an estimator, project manager, on-site foreman and skilled carpenters. They also have established relationships with design professionals to provide Design Build Services. Additionally, they are able to bring quality, skilled subcontractors to projects to ensure the highest workmanship due to their many years of mutual respect.

Upon Jim Eicher's retirement from the company in 2016, Will and Rachelle Eicher now run the company together ensuring the same customer service and satisfaction the company has built it's 40 year reputation on. Their projects include highly customized architect-designed new houses, additions, remodeling work, historic restorations, equine facilities and their own in-house design build work.

Eicher works with industry leading architectural firms and design professionals to provide clients with the home realized in their dreams. They enjoy engaging in a partnership with the client and architect at the inception of the project to be involved with project planning and feasibility.
