Living in Clarence, NY

The town of Clarence is in northeastern Erie County, 30 minutes northeast of the city of Buffalo. Clarence is the first township to be founded in Erie County, back in 1808, and it is filled with historic rural charm, with unique historic buildings around every corner. It celebrated its bicentennial in 2008.

Living in Clarence is akin to living in simpler times. Throughout the 20th Century, the town was a major hub for gypsum and potash mining, as well as brick-making. Today, the area is known as a hub for antique shops and restaurants.
