Based in Columbia, Missouri, File Construction is a residential construction firm specializing in custom home construction services. The team at File Construction knows that custom home construction requires the highest levels of communication and patience because the construction process can be incredibly stressful. There are many financial commitments and decisions to be made when building a custom home. That is why the team at File Construction is committed to ensuring that the process is as pain-free as possible. File Construction is owned and operated by Darin File. He was born and raised in Beloit, Kansas, a small town in the north-central part of the state. Darin grew up in a Christian household where he learned the importance of morals, values, and a strong work ethic. Upon graduating valedictorian of his high school class, a track scholarship brought Darin to Columbia in 1995. He graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri School of Business with a dual degree in Marketing and Management.

After three years of laboring and handling project management responsibilities for a local construction company, Darin went out on his own and founded File Construction, LLC in 2005. File Construction started by specializing in basement finishes and small remodeling projects. By doing almost all laboring in-house, the company has learned the importance of doing everything correctly because of the effect on the finished product. Over time the File Construction team gradually worked its way up to more significant remodels and additions and, ultimately, new construction services. Over time, File Construction has grown thanks to referrals from satisfied customers.
