Jay Hiatt, the founder of Trademark Builders, was first introduced to the residential construction industry in his teens when he started working with his grandfather, giving him experience in all facets of homebuilding, including mechanical work, concrete, framing, roofing, and trimming. Working with his grandfather, Jay learned the importance of delegation, the use of subcontractors, the importance of using new technologies, and the vital role that all three played in the residential construction process. Jay's early years in the industry made him the well-rounded builder he is today and set the stage for Trademark Builders to become one of Lincoln's leading custom home construction firms.

Jay graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, with a degree in Industrial Technology Education. He worked in the commercial construction industry for three years after college while doing residential jobs on the side, and, in 2009, after the birth of his first child, he started Trademark Builders.
