Gerald Horkheimer was a pioneer of the industry. He served as a long-time member and past President of the Iowa Manufactured Housing Association and a member of the Wisconsin Manufactured Housing Association. Through his direction, Horkheimer Homes grew to become one of the top choices for homes today by providing quality homes for every budget and providing customer service that is second to none. Gerald and Rose not only raised their family in the business but also in a house built by Horkheimer Homes because, as Gerald always said, “You have to believe in what you sell.” In 2012, Gerald passed the business over to his son Chip, who started working for the company in 1990. He has since worked his way up through the business in the service department, installing homes, heating, and air conditioning. After finishing school, Chip got into the sales side of the company. However, he does not consider himself a salesman but a professional tour guide for homes that sell themselves.
