Our overall experience has not been as expected, my previous two homes that I had built the process was much smoother. This process ended-up being very stressful and costly at the end. One of the many issues that my wife and I had was that it just took too long to build our house, one year and four months to be exact, that is a long time for a track home to get built. The frustration began, when we went to our in-home consulting meeting with Scott to pick out colors and other add-ons we would like to have in the home. Scott had no idea on how design and colors work, he primarily pointed at available materials, and quoted pricing. We realized that he did not know what he was doing, this caused this process to be extremely stressful and overwhelming. We have also heard this from other homebuyers when we inquired about their experience. We had to go back and forth looking at other homes on the property and web sites like Houzz to consider colors and add-ons which were not offered to us at the time. We are unsure why Bloomfield would not hire someone with some form of interior decorating skills. We also discovered from other home buyers in this community amenities that could been included or possibly upgraded to in our home that were never disclosed to us until after we picked out everything but it end-up being too late to add-on to the home. The other main issue I had was with our construction manager Ryan, it seemed like I was building the house myself, I came by the house a few times a week pointing out issues that he should have notice before me. Which prolonged the process because issues were not being addressed at the time, we brought them to Ryan. An example of this is when we told Ryan about the siding on the rear of the house being off when it was installed. Months went by and it was never addressed. Then a month before we closed, we stopped by, and the entire living room wall had been removed. The contractor said he had no choice because the window frame was the issue and that taking it out was the only way to fix the siding on the window correctly. We also paid for upgraded tile to be installed as the kitchen backsplash. When it was installed, the work was shotty. The grout lines were inconsistent, and the tile was not level. We also brought this up to Ryan at the time of install and at the walk through before closing. He said he would have it resolved by closing. On the day we closed the tile installer was at the house and he was in the process of knocking out a few tiles that he was instructed by Ryan to remove. I walked in as he was removing the tile. I noticed he was only removing a few tiles. The installer stated that he was only here to remove 3 tiles per wall but from his observation that it would only be consistent if it was all removed and replaced. I called Ryan while the installer was here, we discussed what we had previously talked about at the walk through which was to replace the backsplash with the box of tiles that was left over. Ryan stated that he would have to schedule for them to come out to replace the backsplash and that the tile installer that was there was not able to replace the entire backsplash. I advised Ryan that would be fine that we were not planning to move in until the first of the month. After a couple of weeks and no word from Ryan or the tile company to schedule the install, I reached out to Ryan, and he completely did a 180 and stated I ran off the tile installer and it could have been fixed that day. Even after all the frustration and misrepresentation dealing with Ryan, we through our hands up and I gave it one last ditch effort to work with Ryan. I told him I have a tile guy and we were willing to pay him to replace the backsplash but wanted to be reimbursed for the cost of the installation. He stated to me that it would have to be done by has tile company. On the week of our move in we were forced to pay $600 out of pocket to have the tile tore out and replaced at our own expense. Then to add insult to injury, about a week after we moved in, the tile company called to schedule an appointment to replace the tile. As a buyer of a Bloomfield home, we were never informed that we could change construction manager. If we knew that was a possibility I would have switched to Tim. From talking with him and seeing other homes that he has completed he has a better handle on his trades and the completion of the homes. Overall my experience was not all bad, i love the design and spaces in each room. Workmanship was not all great, after closing its been hard getting contractors to fix issues, a lot of things needed to br fixed, but really slow on getting them fixed.

I wouldn't buy another home from Bloomfield. They are selling houses, and building houses so fast that their quality has gone into the toilet. Sloppy work everywhere, electrical, painting, roofing, you name it. I confronted the "builder" and said that it appears that the trades people don't have much pride in their work. He said they're being pushed to complete jobs so fast that they don't have time. I guess they don't have time to do a good job. I've been in the house for over a month now and I'm still waiting for someone to fix certain items that have been outstanding for many months. The process is definitely broken. ... More

While the price was reasonable and the communication with sales person was good, the overall quality and craftsmanship of the home was very poor. We are still dealing with plumbing issues and things that should have been taken care of prior to closing. Lastly, wiring in attic is all over and not neatly attached to rafters or in a conduit.

Zero builder quality checks on trades as house is built. Cheap plastic windows and siding. They let the city inspectors do the review for code and fix only what the inspectors require, versus what should be fixed per construction norm. They will not fix defects in phase but prefer to try to close and have it fixed by warranty if they agree. Sprinkler system PVC depth about 1-2 inches so it will freeze and break. Flower beds consist of unsecure stones just laid on top of the ground, and then clay placed inside the bed on top of original grass that was never removed. Beds are full of wood, rock and bricks. Sod is laid on unprepared soil on top of rocks, bricks, metal trim, or whatever trash collected during the build process with holes and lumps throughout on completion. Then they plop in the cheapest plants and trees available at the time that are not suited to our climate. You pay upfront for low quality work that will just cost you even more to later rip out and replace correctly. Then the same trades come by later to see if you want to pay to redo the work right. ... Quality of materials and hardware is low. Build quality is below average.

Still have issues with yard and standing water, fence is way above the ground at the gates and my dog has been able to get out constantly. Construction on the homes beside me are noisy and loud music...sides of house are horrendous.

Builder cannot finish as promised (house came without study room shelves, without ordered garage doors, no door knobs, etc

If someone from Bloomfield that has authority sees this, I've written you as well. Where was the project manager? I brought up several concerns that were flat out ignored (work wasn't completed properly for warranty purposes). We did a punch list walk through 2 weeks before closing and half the items weren't completed. Had to get a painter over to at least handle all the baseboard touch ups from the wood flooring because I didn't have time to mess with delaying movers and dealing with having all furniture shifted to get to it. Other items, like patching missing trim, was left undone. Overall quality is as expected from a mass builder, but several items are unacceptable. I more or less had to manage my home build due to the lack of presence from the PM. And I've been stuck with the finish out as the work was dumped on the warranty guy (who's actually been extremely helpful), but I'm now having to coordinate my days and time to let people in to finish work that should have been finished before we moved. These are not warranty items, but punch list items. I feel a 5% of sale compensation for having to act as the project manager is more than fair. We have a large white pipe sticking up in the back yard that we knew nothing about it was late in the build. Then come to find out at the closing table that it has to stay because it belongs to the community behind us and that there is an easement so it has us limited to what we can do in the back yard. Back yard is slopped pretty bad as well makes it almost unusable for the kids to play.

Bloomfield is an ok builder for the price.

Before and after closing I have ask them to come and clean excess paint and grout off the floors. It looks terrible! I’m pretty sure this wouldn’t be acceptable if the shoe was on the other foot. So Bloomfield is not in my good graces as I write this.

Disappointed in the overall craftsmanship of the home. We understand some items will slip through and have to be fixed later, but some of the issues should have been obvious to the builder at the time.

I have had to call almost every service number within 1 month. Bathroom leak, hole in concrete, gas leak, garage door adjustment, AC not working. Electricity and appliances have been fine.

I put earnest money down in November for a February completion date. The tilework, flooring, and framework appeared to have been rushed. I have had numerous repair requests in the past two months. The construction manager is responsive and timely to repair requests. Pam (in the sales office) is amazing and a plethora of knowledge. I wish she was my sales rep.

I still have issues that are being addressed but they should have been taken care of very early on. Some of the material used aren't the best of quality. I really think this is done with every builder unless you are doing a fully custom build. The time frame give wasn't even close to when the house was actually ready. So plan accordingly and voice any concerns you might have.

The process started off great!... everything went smoothly from contracts, picking out colors, brick, etc. but after the house was being built there was issues that we noticed that windows at front wasn’t centered and the column at back porch half of the wood was hanging over the concrete pad. We addressed it with our sales person and he got real upset telling us this is why he doesn’t like buyers to see the house until it finished. Finally got the project manager phone number to address the work with him. He said will look into it and fixed the issues. 2 days before closing for our final walk through a lot of work was still needed to be done, landscape wasn’t done, but weather didn’t help, the interior of house, floors weren’t completed, incomplete paint, etc. no big deal! Finally closed on house project manager none existent does not return calls and you have issue at that point you have to go through warranty, getting people back after is hard, you send in work orders half get completed other don’t call. I was happy with my experience until 3/4 the way thru the building process. They made a few mistakes that delayed our move in date by a couple of months. The finish work was/ is very sloppy. I’m still cleaning paint, stain, pencil marks off floors, walls etc. Had to get house inspected 2 times because builder did not fix all the mistakes and damage the first time. They installed broken windows, trim , and several of the walls had holes because no door stops. The overall design of the house is great. The finish work is subpar to put it nicely.

I had a great salesman but the builder is horrible. I have been in my home for 3 months and I’m still waiting for issues that were pointed out prior to closing to be corrected. Bloomfield homes are amazing but the people I’ve worked with give them a bad name.

When shown the completed hone, things did not work correctly such as the garbage disposal and the internet connection. There was actually a short in the internet connection that has to be fixed. In addition, there was supposed to be internet connections placed in certain rooms and was not. The hallway light fixture was missing. Also, the light fixture in the food pantry fell off. The upstairs bedroom is cold as ice no matter the temperature on the thermostat. Base paint was missing in some areas as well. Many things are wrong and definitely affected our trust to build with this company again.

I was very disappointed to see the house was not cleaned when I moved in. There were a no of issues which took almost four months to resolve. The drawers in the kitchen and bathroom are of very poor quality. I was also mad when the builder did not take into consideration my request for small modifications even though I was willing to pay extra.

All in all, I feel like the home is a well-built home. However, the attention to the detail work is lacking - trim work, paint, caulking, granite cuts & fireplace stone.

Renee was amazing and great to work with. House was rushed to finish at the end and therefore a lot of things were missed and quality was nowhere to be found. Still having several minor issues which are creating bigger issues like windows leaking and causing damage to wood.

Leeroy is a salesman true salesman - reels you in for the sale and then doesn’t want to deal with you once it’s final. Trent, our builder, is a really nice guy, but just doesn’t have the time or the drive to keep on top of things. We had some custom additions to our build, and I believe they would not have turned out the way we wanted had I not stayed on top of it. We moved in on 9/28, and still have issues we’re waiting to be fixed almost 2 months later. Finally, the workmanship I believe is low quality. Mainly in the final touch up details. Really bad.

The selling team was fantastic. Delivering a complete product to us was a bit of a disappointment. Out home was not ready upon move-in, although the contracting team had over a month to finish obvious buildout items. The walkthrough that was hosted was another disappointment with over 20 major items to replace or repair. Now 44 days after closing the punch list from the walkthrough is still not complete. Cute house, Really wish that the turnover would have been a more positive experience.
