Framing material was just fair. Many pieces were not in the best of shape yet workers still used them even after we brought it to their attention. Concrete laid was very wavy, holes in various spots, one corner completely fell apart. Brought it to their attention as we didn't want to have this be an issue when the flooring got laid and apparently they didn't fix it because we had to have 2 section of flooring relayed and some of our furniture still does not lay flat to the floor. Painting, texture fair. Paint is a very poor grade of paint and for the price paid for this home, should have ...

A number of issues with a new home

  • Jaret H.

  • Little Elm, TX

We have had a number of issues with our new home. These have ranged from a massive leak in the utility room that damaged the drywall to unfinished areas under the sink. Our latest issue seems to be another water leak that has led to a water bill for 25,000 gallons of water and what seems to be a loose screw or wire that was in the garbage disposal (our first use of it was greeted by a sharp metallic sound). We enjoy the home and it looks nice, but it just feels like a never ending chain of problems that we have to deal with. My wife felt so very good about the home when we bought it. She was ...

AFTER SPEAKING WITH SEVERAL OF MY NEIGHBORS, WE ARE ALL VERY DISAPPOINTED IN OUR NEW HOMES. CONCRETE IS CRACKED OUT IN DRIVES AND GARAGES. TRIM IS LOSE ON SOME OF THE HOMES, TREES ARE DYING, SPRINKLER SYSTEMS ARE A MESS, YARDS WEREN'T LEVELED BEFORE SOD WAS APPLIED, MASTER BATH SINK HAD AN 8" CRACK IN IT, TUB WAS CHIPPED, BATHROOM COUNTERTOPS WERE ALL SCRATCHED UP, A/C HANDLER HAD A LOOSE BRACKET & DIRTY FILTER. INTERIOR PAINT WAS MISSED IN MANY AREAS, FRONT DOOR THRESHOLD WAS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES, ETC. RUSHED CARELESS CONSTRUCTION AND LANDSCAPING. WISH WE HAD TALKED TO THE NEIGHBORS BEFORE ...

After about 6 weeks in our home it seems to be of good quality; however they appear to be slow in fixing the list of items identified during final walk through and during our first days in the home. There is a lack of communication on the status of any action being taken on the list.

Too many issues for a new build

I feel that there were corners cut when building this home. I can’t name ALL of them because there are so many. My thought is they had new workers that were starting out and my house was the test dummy. I would have liked my home to be of the same quality as the model home but one all the issues are fixed this could be a good home.

Great house - few issues not resoved

Bloomfield makes a great and very pretty house. We have had a few minor (not showstopper) issues including missing trim and minor adjustments as needed. We were hit with a $700 water bill the first month as the sprinkers had been adjusted to settle the sod - it had not been communicated to us to dial back the sprinklers and even when we did to the suggest values there was still a lot of water being used.

We purchased a spec house. Although there were a lot of thing we couldn't change, we were still pretty satisfied in the beginning. After we moved into our house, there were some things that needed to be fixed. The service was slow. My wife and I work, so we had to take off or wait until the weekend. We continue to find subpar things such as windows not sealed properly, scratches on the countertops, etc. Most of these things are fixed. I love my home but the service could be better.

I've been in my home one month and 10 days and due to carelessness have had a water leak. I've been without the complete use of my kitchen since May 28th. The Bloomfield representative has been excellent getting the situation resolved, however nothing was offered for this inconvenience until I asked. One can expect some things to be corrected but not a water leak.

Bloomfield Homes responded:

Wish I could give 5 stars because I love my house. Unfortunately this process has been horrible. My home was consistently left wide open even getting close to completion. My family and it we almost attacked by German Shepherds that we habitating in my upstairs living space. Our home is still not complete as per the contract. I moved from another state so unfortunately I was not able to see the home in person before moving. I will say that the layout of the home is nice, however the workmanship isn't all there, especially for the price of the home. There were many delays in getting the home ready due to vendors not doing their job on time or properly. I have been in the home for almost two months and still waiting on vendors who were supposed to come BEFORE we even moved in. I didn't want to push the closing date so we moved in and I was told them would be there that next week, which clearly never happened. I have ...

I want to share my negative experience with ArrowBrooke’s sales manager, Jeff. Throughout the process, I felt that he treated me poorly and acted in a condescending manner. He often dismissed my questions with comments like “what do you mean, I don’t understand you” or “I already told you,” which made me feel disrespected. Additionally, he did not allow my sister to accompany me to view the house, which I felt was unreasonable and unprofessional. His overall attitude came across as controlling and belittling, and I felt bullied during the entire process. Because of this behavior, I ...

Immediately off to a bad start when the water line was in the middle of the closet floor and had to be rerouted. Workers were not careful to protect the work of others. Brand new cabinets and counters had paint from painters not bothering to cover them before painting. Painters cleaned up in the brand new sink leaving paint and scratches. Someone used the microwave and got sauce all over the inside and left it dirty. Workers would leave trash like food wrappers and spilled food on the floors and counters. Workers made holes for ducts in the wrong places which led to an immediate need for a ...

I liked the pricing of the house compared to competitors and also the customization options. Things looked okay until I saw the insulation methodology. The thing I can't digest is the usage of cardboard for weather barrier which coupled with the workmanship which is mediocre. So I am gonna have to live in a noisy, leaky, uncomfortable house with potential mold and pest problems. I expect better quality house for paying over a half million dollar. They are also rubbing it in by using weather barrier with 1in foam for all the houses that are currently under construction aroind my house.

Lots of poor work in build. Walls are very crooked. Tile is not level in many places, cracked in transition from hall to rooms. Paint was not good either. Garage door is spotty around the edges(common when checking neighbors). Texture incomplete on every wall. Sanding not done. Garage door has already snapped the wall it’s connected to. Also very common when looking at other builds. Landscaping not leveled. Lots of drainage issues, will need to install a drain system to remove puddles in yard.
