It wasn't easy to communicate with the builder. My questions were answered with (per code, within the limit, per design). The builder had fake passed test reports and was trying to convince me that everything was perfect, while my 3rd party inspection found lots of minor and major issues.

Buyer pay close attention. When they tell you to point out any issues, DO IT. The builder is not checking any quality. They just let to contractors do as they please. I was surprised at what we had to point out to be fixed. I thought obvious issues would be dealt with but no. They use the cheapest constructed cabinets I’ve ever seen. Zero quality. Zero pride in workmanship. Instead of making cabinet seems fit they just stick trim over the seam. Cabinet guides were bent and not parallel. Obvious from the beginning. The overall experience was very frustrating and most of the frustration was unavoidable due to the Covid effect. Jeff always responded though no matter how many questions I had about my home. One thing I did come to appreciate is Bloomfield not cutting corners like I heard other builders were doing leaving buyers very upset with the quality of their home. Getting small things repaired for a new construction home is a challenge. The warranty people are responsive but the time frame to follow through with getting things fixed end up being delayed Example: Dishwasher, floors, fence, and tub need repair in my new construction home. Scheduling for warranty items only occur during the week day from 8:00-5:00, so it's challenging to get things fixed when you work. The paint drops on the wood floor, paint/texture on granite counters and poor workmanship with the caulking in the bathroom was quite surprising! It truly looks like a 5 year old caulked the bathroom. This was pointed out to the project manager during our new homeowner orientation, but nothing has been done since. I am not sure I would recommend a Bloomfield home, given our experience. Overall the process was good. The quality of the workmanship for the price we paid is disappointing. Very inconsistent workmanship and finishes. Quality of appliances is also disappointing. However, Michael H. and Jason B. were great to work with!

Warranty is not very good.,Have problem with the roof but they tell us as long it's not leaking it doesn't matter what it looks, like have ridges from ply wood not seated or warped bad craftsmanship.Seems Bloomfield does not care how their homes look like.

The building process was well done with the exception of choice of the hardware for drawers in the kitchen/ bathroom by the cabinet supplier- The use of European slides, does not exude the quality of ball bearing slides from expectations of what a "Deluxe " kitchen. would offer. As we chose a "deluxe" kitchen, the use of cheap slides was a disappointment as these tend to "rack". Cost differential is $4.00 for the European slide's vs $6.00 for the ball bearing. This was our first time buying a new build and it was a frustrating experience. There were several things that were not communicated that we wouldn't have known to ask. When we did have questions, the team was not responsive. Even now that we've moved it, when we point something out we are told that's how its supposed to be but then after looking at it, they will say they will send someone to fix it.

The home is beautiful, however upon moving in a lot of imperfections were noticed. It was very easy spot areas where the work was rushed, including the horrible paint job that can be seen in the evenings. A few repairs were made after getting my realtor involved, but the major concerns had been ignored and the responsiveness of the responsible parties is awful. If I had the opportunity to give this house back and go with another builder I definitely would. Tough Year But Finally Done

This was a challenging year to build a house due to supply chain issues that created shortages in material but Bloomfield stuck to their price. Potential delays were communicated in advance and the sales rep did a solid job of maneuvering around the land mines. There are still a few cosmetic things that need to be worked on but I'm confident Bloomfield will take care of them. Overall, we're satisfied with the product and the process.
