All in all the home buying experience was good. We were doing most of it from out of state and the sales dept was great. The quality of some materials is barely builder grade but the warranties are good. Response on issues is slow but still acceptable. The price point was good and we are busy upgrading the components that are not up to muster.

Overall, our experience with Centex and the ***** community was positive, and we are happy with our new home. However, attention to detail during the finishing process could have been better. There were several marks/minor scratches on the walls, and significant dust and dirt left in baseboards, corners, windows, and other areas. The landscaping was also disappointing. The seeding/sod work in the backyard was very poor, with the entire yard primarily growing weeds rather than grass, and there are still numerous rocks scattered throughout the yard as wall as underneath the mulch. Been in the home for about 5 months and it's easy to tell how cheaply the house is made. Keep putting work orders in for everything. Wish we didn't buy it

How fast they build to make their money back shows how bad off a job their builder is doing. I have had HVAC, flooring and ventilation issues. Also their main builder or contractor Mike wanted asked me to give him 10s so he can get the award but I'm glad I didn't do the evaluation for him. No QC performed even though when you do the walkthrough they say it was QC checked.

Broken Roof Tiles

Workmanship is not good. Roof tiles are popping out and falling a part and Does not warranty their works. The house is only 3 yrs old.

Homebuying made easy

I decided to move to Texas and 2 days later was under contract. The Salesperson was excellent. The Contruction Manager answered all of my questions and made corrections where needed. The Construction Manager responded promptly and FaceTimed me because I was in another state. The Salesperson and the Construction Manager made me feel very comfortable every step of the way.

Drainage is***** continues

Before I bought the house, I told them I wanted the water drainage is***** in backyard fixed. They added more dirt to backyard, so all that did was make my backyard muddy. Still have major drainage is*****s everytime it rains. Water just stays in the middle of my backyard. Turns muddy. Repeats next time it rains. My backyard is always muddy. Its horrible. Centex wont fix it with a French Drain. So Im keeping track, keeping a log so hopefully they will eventually fix the problem.

I’m a first time home owner. Me and my husband wanted a new construction and one of Centex houses looked very attractive. One of my favorite features about the house is the protected forest in the backyard. Another great feature is that the house has a surprisingly good sound insulation. Let me start with my awesome salesperson and my construction manager, who was awesome. No issues there whatsoever. Now, let’s talk about the mortgage company. I contracted and asked for 45 days to close, so we had 45 days to get everything done. I was approved. I got my preapproval. The night before, literally 5pm before I was to close, the lender said they could not approve me because something came up on my taxes. They weren’t supposed to be using my taxes for FHA anyway. I could not get them to return my calls all day. I had no communication from them for several days before that. ...

Building manager Brandon was very responsive to many issues

Our sales agent with Centex was, Derrick, was not very helpful or responsive to many issues. He was also unaware of the correct rate he could offer buyers, as our rate went from a 3.99 with no buy down to a 4.6 with no buy down. This of course was after the 3k in earnest money was put down and could not he refunded. Beer cans were found in addict, lots of issues found thanks to a pre drywall inspection I paid extra to have done. Shady sales tactics and not so great construction company used over. Great building manager was the only plus from our experience
