I know prices are insane for houses right now, but for over four hundred thousand dollars, I would hope to have better quality. Supposed to have my broken window and screen fixed before I moved in, but still haven't done it. Cabinets are all crooked, windows aren't level, and I could go on and on. Just bad quality overall. Too many shortcuts were taken and it shows.

Empty promises. Poor communication.

When buying a centex home they have all these extra steps to make you feel like they care and want to make sure the house is perfect for you but it’s all a show. They have 2 walks throughs in my case one after drywall to meet the PM, and another before close. At the initial walk though 3 months prior to closing I brought up some issues with my home and was told it will be taken care of which it never did. Even at pre closing they told me they will fix it yet again and did not. Closed on the house extremely behind schedule almost 3 months behind. Even after everything still dealing with issues.

Warranty work and quality have been questionable

The purchasing agent was great, the building process was pretty good. After moving in we have had problems with the hvac system, mold, and cabinets pulling off of the walls. The response to those issues has been very mediocre and doesn’t really seem to be much of a priority. The subcontractors especially colonial heating could care less and seem more interested in passing the problem off then really trying to figure out the problem.

Slowness in processes

Since I bought the house in March, I was told that in April or May they would finish paving the parking lot, installing the stormwater pipes leading to the street, and planting the grass, but it's already June and nothing has been done yet. This is a deficiency in the planning, scheduling, and logistics processes. And also the details or defects that appear inside the house that one discovers after moving in, the response to their repair is very slow and nonexistent. We have quite a lot of issues with this new build home And none of them are resolved yet, there isn’t any timeline yet for the fixes First, vinyl floor installation is very poor quality. The work is carried out by RiteRug, which surprised me. We have found a lot of places that short end joints are separated. So when you step on it, it squeaks and falls. Most ridiculous is the explanation of inspection guy from RiteRug. He told me “there is not teeth on the edge of each vinyl plank, they just pieced together”. I knew that is not true. Check the quality of the home. 30 days in and we have several issues that are all quality related. For the money our expected value isn’t there. Based on our personal experience I’d say the builder’s reputation does not match up with what we are experiencing. In general we are dissatisfied.

Home is good overall, but there are definitely points of contention that show it was put together in a hurry for a quick turn around. A number of doors have pretty substantial gaps from the trim which is quite frustrating, and any touchups during our walkthrough seemed to be rushed as well. Rather than properly sanding to touch up, it was just painted over and not very well. Many paint drips on trim throughout the house, paint on the carpet in some areas etc. Builder repaired most issues pointed out through walkthrough, but some were answered with "Yeah, I'm not sure there's much we can do ...

First New Home For The Wife and I

The entire team from sales to move-in made it so easy. We had the keys in hand only 3 weeks after we signed; that is the fastest ever for us. Our walk-thru revealed no repairs needed prior to move-in. This is our third Pulte/Centex home purchase and I would highly recommend this builder as being top notch for value.

Purchased a home from Pulte/Centex - 4 months before closing. Craftsmanship was poor in multiple areas at “final walkthrough”. I feel the house should be completely finished with all errors corrected before “final” review. However, 100+ pieces of blue tape were everywhere with defects in cabinetry, warped walls, etc. We were given the “official” closing date 7 days prior to signing documents and receiving keys (moving from 3 hours away with moving trucks). Haven’t had a ton of issues with the home yet other than some minor stuff. Never buy a centex home until all items are completed before close. I moved in late January and still have no yard other than mud. I understood that it would not be completed due to weather but was under the impression that those things would be completed in order. They do not move in order and currently houses that closed a couple weeks ago already have yards. On top of that they refuse to give answers on anything.
