$460,000 home that doesn’t come with quality product and material. When I breathe on the flat paint walls it leaves a mark, the applicances are quite literally the cheapest things you can buy on the market. Even the primary shower is a built in you don’t even get a nice tile shower. The $460,000 primary closet is 3 metal racks… HVAC unit runs only on Emergency heat if it’s cold out and the small single unit cannot even heat the downstairs and upstairs at the same time you have to choose which floor you want heated and turn off the other. $460,000 house doesn’t come with a single cabinet ...

Many problems. Workmanship is poor. The overuse of caulk to hide cracks, gaps and repairs. One trade comes in and ruins the work of others. Windows, countertops, flooring, stove and doors scratched. Marginal material quality. Nail pops in drywall. Builder pushes to close prior to fixing issues and telling you they will fix it after closing. Paint went on where it shouldn’t and where it should go on it was insufficient. In some cases, It takes the trades 3 or 4 times to make it right. It has been a month since closing and still finding issues. This has not been a good experience.

I feel like the trades people they hire take no pride in their work, many things had to be done multiple times to just pass our basic acceptance level. Many many issues too many to list here, I would not recommend.

The beginning of the building experience with Centex was less stressful than the end. We had to rush to make design choices as it was a spec home and they had already started the building process. The sales rep, Ryan, was kind and helpful when he could be. Throughout the build process we had construction managers change about 3x and none of them were proactive in reaching out to provide updates on the home progress. Instead of downsizing to a small beautiful ranch I feel like I have moved into a section 8 living house. My issues have been with dry walling, paint issues, seems like they used the cheapest paint and only put one coat, front door not sealed properly, back door was letting rain in, calking issue, HVAC issue, faulty smoke detector, plants that were dead in the front. The list goes on and on. I feel like I made a big mistake in buying this home. needless to say, I am very upset.

The financing service was not accommodating, after purchase the home required many improvements that have taken too long to correct . Construction is less than optimal.

I can't believe this whole process, from lack of communication, poor workmanship and the absolute carelessness. The sales rep team was the only high note of this process but the builders/field team dragged the rest of the team through the dirt.

After deposit was paid it was impossible to have someone call you back. They don’t build as specified on website. Were not up front about all the charges you have to pay. Can’t get them to come fix problems Major electrical problem that has to be addressed.

Frustrating Homebuying Experience

I was hoping that frustrations during my closing period would improve, but it has gotten worse. Now that I am in the home, I am noticing cut corners and serious shortcuts taken with things like the electrical. The build team seems to not want to deal with me, passing me off to the Pulte service team, who I have called four times in the last two weeks without any followup from the local agent I need to speak to. Every time I pull back a layer of this home, I seem to find a new issue, which is a very bad feeling to have. Sorely disappointed and quickly developing a case of buyer's remorse.

Prior to moving in there were squeaks and uneven flooring, wood sticking out in in t he garage ceiling. The kitchen was flooded from a water line burst. Also the garage walls and floors had water leaks. Some door knobs and hitch loose. Over all, I think detailing is very poor. There is still squeaks and a brand new home should not feel like a fixer up.

Literally everything that could go wrong during this build went wrong. We are 6 weeks after closing and I still don't have sod on parts of my yard. I have stained floor tiles, lumps in the carpet upstairs, the wrong baseboards, the wrong countertops and wrong backsplash was installed. I know Covid had a part in the availability of products however I wish we did not close until all of these issues were corrected.

Never trust the builder for the words. if it is a legal document then they will do it. else it is just an eyewash. never sign anything if you are unhappy especially not on their words. they always over promise and under deliver. Phrases like " We will do it by next week"-- they never happen. Very painful experience...

I have lived in this home for 3 weeks and have had to put in 3 work orders. Most of my outlets do not work, I had a huge leak which caused my water to turn off. They were suppose to send out the irrigation people to fix it, this still has not happened. My backyard and front yard was supposed to be re-rolled. This has not happened. My oven does not work submitted a work order has yet to hear from the people about fixing it. Our project manager does not have the knowledge to build a house. Contractors do less than quality work and it is acceptable to the PM. We had to point out several issues. They installed broken window, broken cabinet, unlevel flooring, no straight walls, terrible paint job and I could go on and on. You close and move in and it is a pain to get the outstanding work completed after they have your money. Go elsewhere!

First off, Rochelle and the rest of the sales team are amazing. I mean they knocked it out of the park. Then there is the field team and warranty team. Centex has not been a good experience. Everyone was warm and welcoming in the beginning, but they are not to be trusted. They force you to close before everything is correct and they tell you it’ll be no problem to get it fixed. Once you reach out, it’s hard for them to fix it. They cut corners and try to make you feel like you’re stupid or wrong for asking them to fix it. If I’m paying this much for a house, I would like it to be done correctly. Overall very disappointed with the quality of the material and workmanship. Interior space, layout, plan seems OK. But execution, quality material, workmanship, quality control, inspection process are subpar. The second day after moving we had to call emergency number for water leak in laundry room. You can imagine the experience. I had purchased two houses prior to this and were not this disappointed unfortunately. I am not recommending anyone to build or purchase Centex house.

We found our "salesperson" Jessica Golden, to be pleasant and responsible, but as we moved on into our new home we have had many problems with our new construction home built by Centex.
