I would've given the Summit by pulte/centex 4 stars for value for price paid, BUT for one HUGE reason - their TWO-CAR garage doesn't fit ONE regular sized short-bed crewcab truck! One of the MAIN reasons I purchased a home was so I could safely park my truck when I went on long out of town journeys (which I do for at least 6 months in a year), so I was quite shocked to find out that my truck didn't fit (another 1 1/2 feet of depth of garage would've helped) inside the garage. When I reported it to the Pulte folks, they didn't bother to respond for several days and even when they did, they just told me "get a smaller vehicle"! You'd think that a single family home with a decent lot size IN TEXAS would fit a regular sized short bed pickup truck! I'll never ever buy a Pulte/centex home nor would I recommend it to any friends or family either. ... More

Home was built to the way we wanted. Very easy and done when was told would be done.

Sloppy and unchecked construction worksets . Uncaring about the cleanness of the areas or the work on houses they are building

The grass was put down the water sprinkler was not turned on need to do better job with painting they dump out paint in your kitchen sink, but besides of that my house is beautiful

House fine. Finish details not so fine. Sales rep not qualified. Misleading info. Changes story. Would not work with hm again.

Home took a year to build. Contractors made mistakes during the building process. Most of the issues are fixed. Still have a few more things to be done. Building a home is always Stressful. My experience has been horrible and it's still horrible. I'm still living in a unfinished house with dented appliances creeping floors & no hot water. Within the last month I had to take off work 6 times for them to come fix (quote unquote) things that should have already been done. I have no hot water still!!! I have called 3 times prior for them to fix this! Also I had no air but I finally did get air! Drywall is not complete paint is not complete the items I marked at the final walk through to be fixed have not been done nor touched. The final walk through the house was dirty and not clean and when I moved in the house was still dirty and filled with drywall dust, dirt and mud everywhere!! The building process was a nightmare and I'm being modest by saying a nightmare! I thought once I moved in the nightmare would be over but I thought wrong!!!!!!! The house was not built with quality workmanship at all!!!!! I would never build with them again and wish I wouldn't have done so in the first place. ... More

Extreme lack of communication and responsiveness, numerous issues since closing that are still unresolved, multiple plumbing issues, nothing good to say about our experience

The entire process went very smooth and the personnel was extremely supportive.

The buying experience was fantastic, the sales person(s) were fantastic, the original construction supervisors were great, and the construction seemed to be going well, as time to close on the sale was nearing the wheels fell off the building machine. It seemed everything that could go wrong went wrong, many items lacked in workmanship, many things didn't work, then it was a rush to the finish.

I have not yet moved in but the home is beautiful, the value was part of the reason I selected that builder and that location. Both the sales personnel and the field (manager) personnel were completely responsive and trustworthy.

Our Home is Awesome

Everything was great. It did though take a while for them to come back out and fix some things that were not done prior to closing. But it was ok with me because I didnt move it right away.

We are first time homeowners and expected a big heartache while purchasing. Centex made this experience easy. When we moved in there was an issue with the electrical in our master bedroom but they sent an electrician out in the same week and the problem is fixed.

It’s a nice looking home. Build quality / materials not that great. I wouldn’t go this route again . It’s not a bad home. I’ve learned a lot from this experience

The overall experience in buying a house was horrid thanks to the staff of Pulte mortgage. This was my first experience of buying a house and it was hellish. From issues with negligence and predatory lending behavior to just plain being rude, snarky, and highly unprofessional by multiple members. I had fees upcharged and added to my CD that were NEVER agreed to even when the staff tried to pull "per our negotiations" but tried to ignore WRITTEN agreements on what was stated. I was also told I should just sign the CD even with the charges because I'm still coming ahead with the incentive bonus. The 5k by no means makes you come ahead that was an incentive by YOUR company to help with closing cost so in the long run it's the company's money period. I also NEVER received an apology by staff for the issues and NEVER received a call from the supervisors to speak about the behavior of their staff. I will NEVER use Pulte mortgage ever again and I will never recommend anyone to use them. Now in regards to the home it's self it's lovely I do have a few issues with carpet nor touching the wall fully leaving holes open for critters, some concrete chipping, and cracks on the wall from the house settling but I have a lovely experience with my field manager Chris. He was extremely professional and quick to address issues. He also tried to assist me with the issues I was having the mortgage company. He truly went above and beyond in his duties. Morgan was the warranty guy and he did a great job explaining everything. ... More

Be prepared for issues to arise between your final walk through and closing. The field manager claimed that Centex would provide a "paint touch up kit", it never happened and I have several areas in my home that the builder failed to paint. I can't even get a response from the company just for the name of the paint color. I've been trying to get a response for several weeks. There was dirt rubbed into my carpet from electricians that were in my home doing work while I was closing. I came home immediately after closing and electricians were in my home, without anyone telling me they would be there. I am continuing to find caulk and paint on my carpets. My master bathtub was covered in sheetrock mud and other substances that took me hours to get out. Also, there is water-logged crown moulding that was left in my garage. The field manager said they would send someone to remove them...that was the first week of March and it still hasn't happened. Several doors didn't close properly within 2 weeks. They sent someone to fix them but my door trim was damaged during the process and they didn't repair it. All and all, there is a poor attention to detail, in my opinion. We are moderately happy with the home but expected more attention to detail for the money. ... More

We had a minor dishwasher issue that needed to be fixed. When they pulled out the dishwasher we could see a hole through the wall and light was shining through. It was large enough for a fist to fit through. It makes me wonder if there are any other problems behind the walls that won't be noticed until there is a problem.

Centex is a well built home and walking through with their employees to find problems that needed to be addressed before I moved in made me feel like they actually wanted me to be happy with my home.

A dire warning to anyone: DO NOT use Pulte Mortgage, you will never run into a bigger nightmare. Please Google "Pulte Mortgage Reviews" and decide for yourself. That probably disqualifies my review from being posted but I'm just being honest. But the homes are a great value. Very few issues came up throughout the entire process and they addressed them promptly. We love our new home and the community.
