Good builder, on time, good quality of final result. Regular update on the progress and quic response on the progress and questions. Only sales team is worst that i have meet so far and experience nightmare process regarding closing date

Nate was a GREAT project manager. He was very informative

If you decide to build with this company, be extremely observant during your final walkthrough and take extra time to look at everything. We have crooked corners, bumps in the drywall, bad paint job, chipped mirrors and counters, damaged drawers...they even completely drywalled over a window and didn’t fix it until we realized it after we moved in. Some things have been fixed, a lot has not. I’m quite disappointed in this builder.

Great Customer service and amazing sale representative team

I loved the overall help I received from Trent in the sales office, he was a tremendous help with any issue I had, and there were a few hiccups but Trent was there to make it better, as for the building process please make sure you're speaking with the right person building your home so that you get what you asked and paid for and that it all gets taken care of before you move in. other than that it has been extremely great with Centex and Trent.

Overall we've been very happy with our new home! I think we got exceptional value for what we paid, and have been very impressed with the quality of the build. This is certainly a home that will last!

The loan processor Daniel was amazing, helpful in so many ways. She made my experience to be the best.

Beginning process was smooth and painless. However as our home progressed things became more difficult. Sales person was giving us information without knowing the whole situation. We were kept up to date with timelines of what was happening when, but then those timelines were never met, and at one point were not completed 2+ weeks after we were told they would be done. Excuses such as contractors and deliveries no-showing was given often. The end was VERY hectic due to a winter storm being added into the mix. That being said, while they used the storm as an excuse, the main point was that they were 2-3 weeks behind before that storm hit. We had to fight every day to close in a timely manner so that we weren’t between homes due to our lease ending and the home not being ready, and it actually got bad enough that our sales person was removed from our case and the area sales manager stepped in to complete our sale. Fencing was not completed in time so survey could not be completed on time either. They even had to take appliances out of a home that was not completed or ready for closing to put them into our home in order to get the certificate of occupancy. Final inspections were not completed until the morning of closing, putting us at risk of not being able to close if something did not pass. The builder also promised that brush/yard debris would be cleaned up after closing (this was another item delayed due to contractor/storm situation). We have been in the home for 6 weeks now and this STILL has not been completed. I have attempted to contact both the construction manager and Centex customer service and my emails requesting this be competed are being ignored. ... More

Overall buying experience was poor. The house was not complete at closing. I drove to the house after closing only to see painters inside doing repairs that should've already been completed. It took over a month after closing to get the correct appliances delivered. The driveway surface was damaged from ice during construction and still has not been addresed almost 2 months after closing. It is a nice house, but due to the overall buying and closing experience, I would not recommend Pulte.

The purchase of the home went smoothly. Love the house. I wish the HOA Board would be more responsive to my proposals.

Quality of workmanship is not there. Doesn’t seem like any quality control is in place (I.e. step by step inspections, etc). Lack of communication during closing process and being told less than 24 hours before closing that it wouldn’t be ready for another week or two. Left us having to scramble to make living arrangements since we had already sold our other home two days prior. Once we moved in, there immediately was a leak in the home due to plumber not tightening the master shower drain all the way during construction. This led to holes having to be cut in the kitchen ceiling. They initially just patched the holes and it was very obvious so I had to push for the entire downstairs to be retextured/painted. Had to have AirTron come out because they stripped an air vent when doing that. Still waiting for them to come out and fix issues with the texturing. Garage door was extremely crooked making it very difficult to lock or even open. Was told that it couldn’t be fixed by the worker sent by the construction team, however, I had a contractor come out to install a garage door opener and he realigned the entire door to make it function properly. The support beam underneath the master counter is broken but I have to call the warranty line to have that fixed. The back patio is extremely unleveled and there is a large dip in the middle of it. For reasons that I don't even recall, I had originally not had a great opinion of Centex as a builder. I had to be convinced by my realtor that they really were reliable. I signed my contract to build days before my state shut down due to Covid-19. I waited months for the house to be built and I was getting antsy, even considering pulling out of my agreement. Throughout the process, my two contacts at Pulte, Mary, who sold me the home, and Karen, my design consultant, continued to take all of my concerns seriously, never getting impatient, even as I expressed my hesitations about following through. There was never a pressure sale, but always an attempt at working with me to address the issues of concern. A good example of the measures that Mary and Karen took to help me occurred when I was informed, right before the start of construction of my house, that the color scheme for the siding of the house was no longer available due to problems from the supplier. At first they just asked me to choose from among other colors, none of which I liked. When they realized how important this was to me, they scoured the country looking for the siding that I wanted, until Karen finally found it and informed me. My contract allowed Centex to force me to choose another color. Mary and Karen could have simply left it at that, allowing me to pull out of my contract, knowing that they could sell my lot very quickly. But, they didn't. The next person I worked with was my field manager, Kelly. Kelly was a non-nonsense worker, who never tried to talk fast or talk down to me. I asked questions all of the time, sometimes repeating questions. He never expressed impatience with me and always responded within 24 hours, but usually within a couple of hours. Kelly's work with me continues to this day, even weeks after closing, as he has fulfilled his promise to make sure that any issues that weren't addressed before closing would be addressed. Right before I closed, I went to the house for a final walkthrough, and it had been pouring rain for days. Water was pooling against the house and the foundation on one side looked torn apart. It was shocking. I didn't know what I was seeing and called Kelly immediately. Kelly came again right away to meet us and explain that the "torn apart" look was not of the foundation, but just of the insulation. He explained that the insulation was torn up temporarily to help with issues next door. He then described all of the engineering measures that Centex had taken to protect the foundation, given the grade of the land. I have nothing but high praise for the three main contacts I had at Centex. If you find one good person working for a company, it doesn't necessarily reflect on the company, but just on that person. However, when you continue to find such friendly, professional, and competent people, that gives evidence that the company is probably doing something right, to attract and keep such people. One you move in you find all the things you wished you’d noticed before closing. Creaky floors, leaks, corners cut. The lack of pride in the work shows. Getting to closing is easy and they have nice people on the staff.

Great experience for first time homeowners like us.

I don't know if this is an ongoing issue with new constructions, but the quality of the work is mediocre, bordering on terrible. I will have a lot of issues with the warranty company.

They use the most cheap materials. For the price I pay for the house he’ll no. I feel like a live in a cartoon house. I’m sorry but is how I feel.

They kept us informed of progress, and prolonged delay, in getting into our home. Unfortunately, we are on Azalea Drive and there were differences between Centex and City of Durham/Durham County with curb and gutter and sidewalks or none.

Centex appears to pride themselves in ensuring to have qualified caring workers. It was a pleasure working with John the construction manager of my home. He explained the process to me. He answered all my questions. He made sure to provide me pictures and updates on my home on a weekly basis. Any issues he made sure to tell me about them before I found out on my own. Quality was extremely important to him and he stressed quality of important to Centex. So anything I asked for to push up the timeline of closing was always not at the expense of quality. And I couldn't ask for anything else. Right now, only 6 weeks in the home, i would buy Centex again. I hope nothing changes in the future. ... More

Madeline was great to work with. She helped to make the whole process fun and easy.

Sales team and construction managers were very professional and knowledgeable. I found them easily approachable and willing to help. I enjoyed the whole process of buying this home.

This is the third home/builder we've had over the past 30+ years and by far it is the best experience we've had. Communication with sales associate and field manager was great throughout the selection and building process. The home was completed on time and most issues or concerns we've had have been addressed quickly and completely.

Great experience with everything from the beginning to closing! Very satisfied with my house! Great people to do business with.
