The financing team chosen by Centex is subpar.

We did a across country move and couldn’t go to all of the walk throughs because of COVID. They missed certain crucial things like a toilet paper holder that was missing from on of the bathrooms, exterior lights that still aren’t working! Besides other small things!

We were very happy with the people involved with our house except the painters and finishers. We went back and forth for over a month and didn't move in due to issues with the drywall and paint. It finally came to a point where we just let it go.. still sticky doors and dings in the walls.

I don't know I could recommend Centex in good faith if someone were to ask. I am going to be getting another home in the area soon for myself and am not considering another Centex proiperty.

We are from the north and used to our homes being built to a higher standard.

First, I'd like to say that Harrison came into to mess that should have been addressed before we moved in. There were many items that were not addressed before we moved in. We have for the last 4 weeks been dealing with one issue after another. Just to recap since we moved in the siding removed from both sides of the house. Kitchen side due to a bow in the wall. Bedroom side due to the AC unit 220 installed on the opposite side of the AC unit. Note I requested this be fixed before we moved in. I was told the AC unit is now moved to the side of the house where the 220 is. What I was not told was now you have a copper line wrapped around your house. If this wasn't bad enough we turn on the AC when we moved in and it wasn't working. We have have Smith heating and AC come out and it wasn't even finished being installed. Now the bow in the kitchen wall the drywall was taken off and bow was fixed. The wall in turn was refinished. Reinstalled the back splash and the wall was still bowed. So, the wall is taken apart again with more drywall removed & redone again. The wall is still not perfect but we have had enough. We had to have an electrician come out twice as now all the outlets on the kitchen wall are too far back to put the faceplates on. Also, the wall is so bowed that the trim at the bottom of the cabinet will not cover the opening. If we are not already upset we hire someone to install a standard storm door. The installer proceed to show me how crooked the opening is. The storm door cannot be installed at its current state. As I am looking at the opening there is also a substantial bow inside the house by the opening of the door. The more we look at the house it is obvious there is lack of any quality control or pride in building our house. The $408, 000 we paid for this house seems to be a bad investment. Whoever is reading this I would hope will contact us before we decide to contact someone outside your organization legally. Note my rating we generous even after all we have been going through. Terrible communication, they don’t follow thru on commitments, they disappear for long periods of time and don’t respond, the quality isn’t great and most disappointing is that you don’t even get what you expected/paid for when they substitute big items for different colors without telling you. Long list of gripes. Sales team super friendly for what it’s worth.

Alicia is PHENOMINAL to work with in the sales dept, she is so sweet and very responsive all the way through the process; even after closing she responds. She gets a 10/10 in my book. Chaz in the building dept stopped communicating after closing, I thought that was very odd. After all people go though during several months long in the building process and awaiting closing - one would think you would at least pass the homeowner along instead of making them feel cheated or cheap. Sending people to voicemail and asking them to reply via email only seems very shady/shaky - only to get no reply back or several days later get a reply. This does not make anyone feel good considering the huge investment/purchase to have a new home built. If I were buying a piece of furniture I would expect lag, but this is a home for families to live in and we should be treated with top notch customer service. The process is very time consuming and all parties involved need to have ALOT of patience during the build. Good luck to anyone looking to build a home with Centex. It will be built, it may take what feels like forever to be completed, and may have a punch list that still isn't fulfilled/completed after 30 days of closing, but its possible to make it a home. I have no complaints about Centex as an agent. I would only recommend that they have a design center so it is easier to pick out your options within the home. A electronic design center that buyers can do on their free time to pick and choose options for their home. I am not a fan of Pulte Homes. We were promised a lot of things before we closed that NEVER happened or were fixed. After we closed our builder (Chaz) acted like we never bought a home from them. We can’t even get a friendly wave as he is standing out side of our new home and makes eye contact. There was no follow up or communication with the builder to fix what he promised us before closing or within the first 30 days of our home like he promised. We were contacted by customer support at our 30 day mark and had to ask for them to fix what the builder promised us would be fixed before our first 30 days in the home. So far they are helping us but we are waiting for things to be actually fixed as we hit our 60 day mark in the home. As a first time homebuyer this made my experience stressful and upsetting. In the end we realized that the builder was lying to us about what he was going to do for us to get us to just close on the home. If I had to build a home I wouldn’t want to have Pulte do it because of our experience. I’m the end we do love our home but we wish that our home was built with more attention to detail. If you get the opportunity to work with Porter you won't be disappointed !! Nice floor plans and upgrades. A couple of upgrades I wish were available - hardwood in the upstairs and an upgrade on the kitchen appliances.

It was a long process due to delay of windows. Started with the framing when they had weak corners, poor bracing. Installed portions of the roof in the dark, I see roof sheathing plywood popping out in the neighborhood Cabinets installed 45 days before the house was climate controlled Patio cement is already cracked. The Pulte work sites are horrible. Trash and waisted supplies every where

The builder seems very knowledgeable, however, isn’t the best at following up nor communicating. I’ve expressed this on NUMEROUS encounters, however, no change. This type of frustration will prevent me from recommending this builder to anyone else.

The workman ship is poor. I would rate this below Crescent

This builder is not responsive to issues post closing. Updates during build were not adequate.

What is supposed to be ready by October/ November, didn’t even started until October, unfortunate Who is having to extend my lease for a short term and pay stratospheric amount for my rent, is Me not Pulte, who is having to pay extra storage for my furniture and belongings it’s Me, not Pulte. Back in April I was told my house would be ready by August/Sep… here we are in October. Sad. Worst experience ever, for me and my family. So, there is noting to celebrate here… Do what you have to do.

Do not trust the date in which they tell you (add 6-8 months).

After deposit was paid it was impossible to have someone call you back. They don’t build as specified on website. Were not up front about all the charges you have to pay. Can’t get them to come fix problems Major electrical problem that has to be addressed.

Poor material & workmanship. Do not see a pride in their work.

This had to be one of the worst experiences I have gone through. I can see the seams and tape of almost all the drywall on the walls and ceilings, very amateur and not quality. I wouldn’t expect this from a “quality home builder”. Our project manager was horrible, made lists for him to correct and nothing got done. Now 4 weeks after closing I’m having to follow up weekly with no response. Some issues were the grass being very wavy and bumpy like the landscaping company never rolled it, patches where they just didn’t sod cause they ran out and didn’t come back, kitchen cabinets cracked and instead of bringing molding to the wall they just decided to caulk the gaps, paint on the carpet that I guess you just have to deal with, you can see where paint was rolled, sprayed, brushed, and the interior of the house was painted with three different colors, outside stone was just put up with no grout to where you can see the metal mesh behind it, damaged posts that were replaced, damaged siding not replaced, incorrect color siding put up originally, and the list goes on. The quality of craftmanship in our brand new house is absolutely horrible. The paint and drywall looks like an eight year old did it. Every room has a punch list of touch ups and fixes that my wife and I are still going through and fixing. Centex and Pulte obviously do not care in the least bit in the quality of contractors they hire throughout the building process. My biggest worry is the quality and sustainability of everything you can't see. Structural integrity, wiring, A/C.....etc. Bottom line, a lot of money for a horrible experience and even worse quality.

Very poor communication, lack of attention to details. Very poor workmanship and care for work.

Don’t build with pulte, they care about your money and that’s it

There are so many things that are wrong. Things that should have been noticed by the builder if projects were inspected. Too many to name. They are working with me to get these things completed.
