Process was smooth and easy. Team members were helpful and walked me through the process. After moving in I am seeing low quality work specifically with the carpet, paint/caulk, drywall, and some woodwork.

There was a lack of communication, took 5 months longer than originally planned and had multiple AC leaks within the first week. It was a horrible experience overall.

The whole process took longer than originally anticipated but everyone involved is very attentive and kept me up to date.

Home building experience was good but there are significant delays due to improper planning. There is last minute rush to complete things which impqcted quality in few places. Field manager is not at all responsive for the items identified as pending in the closing. Still have few items that need to be fixed.

I would not recommend this builder to anyone. I’m a builder myself and the entire process was an absolute nightmare.

My buying experience was Centex was 5 stars. The sales team and construction superintendent were responsive and great to work with.

Rushed work quality. For starters, Paint and drywall left behind on floors and carpets, texture blemishes, sod placed over the top of construction debris and very uneven lumpy/bumpy ground, trees not planted in correct locations as per my requests. Property is constantly covered in construction trash from the centex build next door, siding was damaged from neighboring construction.

Centex was able to provide a quality house, but most importantly all the personnel that I worked with from sales, construction manager, loan processors, and warranty were so willing to assist and make sure we were taken care off.

As a first time home owner the experience was not great. Not only with the constant delays but also with the materials. With what I picked to the cabinets and floors to having to get something else because they no longer had the products. With the floors they put carpet in the wrong area therefore when it came time to place the vinyl they no longer had the material. There was also a crack in the cabinet which they just tried painting it to fix it. Also, after closing there was a number of issues. The AC not working because near the breaker something was placed upside down, my sod took weeks to be placed, the house was left a mess, and my dishwasher never had a Power cord installed. We purchased our home in Texas from Florida. Haley , the sales rep was extremely responsive to emails and questions. I asked for updates and pictures which she sent quickly. Always pleasant and helpful. The mortgage process was easy and quick. The on-site superintendent Landon kept us informed on building progress with weekly updates via email. Once we closed and moved in Chris the builder rep has been stellar in addressing the minor structural/cosmetic issues and resolving them quickly. The entire team is like a family. We are one of the first completed homes so we see the team almost daily in the neighborhood. Very nice people, and they care about what they do. We are very happy here so far. Wonderful customer service! Some issues around the house that are pending to he resolved. Was told to put in a ticket on closing day but still pending.

I tried leaving a full ho eat review and kept getting an error message on this site saying I need to use at least 5 words. I used like 200. A bit odd that my negative review was somehow being blocked. The stars I left are accurate to my experience.

The lack of attention to detail takes the joy out of owning a new home.

I wish we had the availability to wait on closing until all the issues were addressed but it would have taken too long. There have been a mix of bigger issues, minor mistakes and comical overlooks. Since the first rain storm, I’ve been vocal about insufficient drainage with no response. Exteriors issues with siding and windows. We found a roll of sheet vinyl tucked away with our ac unit. Daily reminders and concerns for a new build.

It is good but the quality of the material is not good the paint they used the composite walls they come off

This was our first home purchase/new build and we couldn't be happier with it! My only complaint is that the interior paint stains easily and has to be retouched as cleaning it removes the paint.

The whole process was easy to communicate and they tried their up most best to make things 100 right , very helpful and honest.

Centex is a decent track home builder. We loved working with Melissa in the sales office. Brett the superintendent was nice and helpful. It was a little disconcerting that he didn't have the items from our home inspection fixed before our walk, but it appears he was able to get them fixed before we closed. Overall we love our new home; however, using their lender was a total nightmare! Don't let them talk you into, or let them pressure you into using their lender. Pulte Mortgage is horrible!!! To say Pulte Mortgage is slow, and non responsive, it an understatement! It's almost impossible to get a live person to answer the phone. If you are able to actually talk to one they don't have answers and don't call you back. Pulte reps took on average a week to respond to emails and to voicemails, They took almost a month to even get a yes or no and not till I told them if I didn't have an answer by the end of the day I was not going to use them and because they were so horrible I wouldn't be purchasing the Centex Home ether. I was told by Centex that if I used Pulte Mortgage the process would go quicker and be smoother, definitely not true! As a note I had a pre approval with guaranteed close from another lender (who also offered to match the incentives from Centex & Pulte Mortgage). I should have used my lender... Sales experience was great. We were told many things by our salesperson. Only a few of those things were honored by the builder. I did not appreciate the initial price hike for my house that happened simply because 2 lots were sold before my salesperson delivered my contract. My price was increased $8 000 per sold lot for a total of $16,000 in those 2 days. The workmanship was questionable from the time they started the frame. There were crooked support beams under window frames, crooked window & door frames. Studs had pieces of wood missing from them, because they are glued together to create the desired length. The field manager caught most of the issues, but I caught a lot. The builder hires contractors who hire subcontractors and no one seems to actually work directly for the builder. This may be normal, but in my opinion it lessens the quality., and the end result shows it. Everything from the drywall work to the paint to the landscaping to the garage door installation was poorly completed and in some areas actual damage was done by the installers and the installers admitted it was intentional. There are drainage issues throughout the development because the land grading was not done correctly. This is from my neighbors testimony and my personal experience. My experience with the builders customer service for after closing issues on the home is they are only there to save the builder from liability exposure; not to actually help the homeowner. Centex constructions manager and warranty personnel are not on top of things. The workmanship is inferior, and the quality of the house is not what I was expected for someone paying over $300,000 in San Antonio. Two months after closing escrow, Centex never completed the items identified during our home walkthrough. The second-story floors are squeaky and uneven. I am concerned about the way Centex framed my house. The exterior painting was poorly done. You can see all the irregular spray marks all over the place. What lived in our home for almost 2 months now. We keep finding new things wrong or missing in our house. We are extremely upset with how this house was built. We should be happy and enjoying our dream home but instead we are chasing the builder to fix all the issues

Our experience has been great, have loved the home. The team has been very accommodating as we have found any issues.
