Process was smooth and easy. Team members were helpful and walked me through the process. After moving in I am seeing low quality work specifically with the carpet, paint/caulk, drywall, and some woodwork.

Home building experience was good but there are significant delays due to improper planning. There is last minute rush to complete things which impqcted quality in few places. Field manager is not at all responsive for the items identified as pending in the closing. Still have few items that need to be fixed.

I was most upset that as the newer homes are being built, less options / upgrades are offered. I mean, seriously, how hard would it have been to put the plumbing in for the water softener? Why was this totally deleted? Now to have this done properly will be an additional $1000 that could have been done cheaper as in previous houses. Why were the brick and stone upgrades deleted? You can see the difference through the neighborhood - and, my house cost $60,000 more. Bad decisions by Centex management.

Comb thru your home multiple times. Some things pop out after the move in so make your warranty list and use it for sure.

This subdivision has three developers, ashton woods, pulte, and centex (centex owned by pulte) Centex is the 'lowest' grade of these three builders. Quality is good and house has great bones/structure. Where centex missed on the build is the quality of the craftsmanship. Paint blotchiness, tiled grout in globs, floor trim not in alignment. All minor cosmetic items but when paying $$$$ quality should still be an area of importance.

I don’t have any complaints about the process of having the home built but I do feel like we were treated like a dime a dozen with the closing process and when we listed some issues at closing that needed to be taken care of, they weren’t. We said that dirt needed to be brought in to fill holes in the fence, never happened. We had to buy our own dirt. We listed dead grass and were told they’d come in and replace them, never happened. We’ve had to buy fertilizer and hope that saved some of the dead grass. It’s just sad that the customer service doesn’t really stick once you’ve signed the paperwork. Biggest issue is the walls, crown molding, and base boards aren't all straight. There's also sloppy finishing work like caulking and paint

One you move in you find all the things you wished you’d noticed before closing. Creaky floors, leaks, corners cut. The lack of pride in the work shows. Getting to closing is easy and they have nice people on the staff.

I love my new home. The builders were very accommodating and knowledgeable.

The sales process was outstanding and both the sales representative and construction manager were friendly, efficient and responsive. I love the home and the neighborhood. The customer service after the sale has been anything but good. I had a major plumbing issue almost immediately after move in. My yard was dug up and almost 3 weeks later it is still a wreck and I can't get anyone from the customer service department to communicate with me as to when the landscaping will be repaired.

Just make sure everything you want gets done on time

This is a very cheap house. The workmanship is poor, the fit and finishes are terrible. They put in several hundred square yards of grass, but put no irrigation system and didn’t offer one, although they said they did, at signing. I have been trying to keep the grass alive until I was able to get someone to install irrigation. I finally got it done and now the grass and trees are half dead and I’m trying to recover them. There was no lightbulb in the garage or the garage door opener. There are no medicine cabinets, no hand towel rods, no drawers in the bathrooms, you could drive a truck through the gaps in the locked doors, they used the cheapest shingles, there was spilled paint on the driveway, and in the garage, the cement on the edge of the garage, and the front porch is marred and has overspray, there was a hole. I could stick my foot through behind the dishwasher through to the outside of the house. It has been six weeks and the street in front of my house still has 2 inches of dirt in it, they planted two oak trees, 6 feet apart in the front yard. In 10 years, those trees are going to collide. Disappointed in the quality and workmanship for the price. Fit and finish is very poor.

Finish the house first 100% before you CLOSE, They will not prioritize you.

Buying a home with Centex was a rocky experience. We had some chaos with the closing date, but the construction supervisor was not ready for the final walk through. After closing there was still deficiencies with our home that had not been corrected. We tried to work with the construction supervisor to get the outstanding deficiencies addressed, but after two weeks we gave up since it was clearly apparent we couldnt trust him to do his job. Additionally, the sod that was used on our lawn was infested with army worm eggs which we didnt find out till two weeks after we moved in. We had to pay for emergency pest control to save our lawn as the infestation was so severe it looked like our lawn was moving for an entire day. Where do I start, My homebuying experience was a nightmare. it started after 2 weeks I moved in the guest bathroom toilet got clogged. Submitted a claim and they came 3 days later to snake the sewer pipes and with great success it was cleared. 2 weeks later I had another clogged toilet on a Friday night and paid $740 dollars on after hour plumber company. Cleared the problem again but the plumber thinks something is in the pipe and he didn't have a camera to check but cleared the clogged. Then 1 week after that it got clogged again. Frustrated with the clogging issues insisted the plumber use a camera this time. Well, we found a 2-inch pipe fitting that was stuck at the Y connector to the sewer line that was clogging my pipes. Water went in my primary bedroom, primary bathroom and the walk-in closet. it took 2 days for the plumber two days for the plumber to come out. 4 days for a cleaning crew and they still haven't fix my carpet and the wood floors. My ring door bell has been on a warranty work order since 06/17/2025 and to this day is not fix. Warranty manager that I had the unfortunate to have, made it seems it was your fault for all the problems with your new house. for instance, the warranty manager would blame me for the clogged toilet with too much toilet paper and wipes. I can see it the first 2 times that the toilet got clogged, but when you have a 2-inch pipe fitting lodge inside the sewer pipe nullified the warranty manger accusations. ... More

While buying process everyone were so nice, acting like they are your best friends. But after closing, Edward, the guy who does walk through, not even picking up phone now. I regret that I signed paperwork. A/C unit is not capable to keep the house cold. House it self gas a lot of deficiencies, materials used are cheapest and build quality is absolutely terrible. Even brand new Water heater is not working. Centex is a huge disappointment!!!

We really regret purchasing this home. It was a “quick built “ and once we moved in, we started seeing more and more issues with the home. We had issues from the very start. We even decided to not go forward with the purchase and started looking for other homes. Our sales guy was great and he changed our minds and made sure all the issues with our home would be taken care of. We closed on 10/19/2022 and we still have items that have not been fixed. The subcontractors did a crappy job on almost everything. Our ceiling is starting to crack at the seams, our stone work has not been resolved. Our driveway is starting to show areas where there was obviously “air bubbles “ and now there’s opens areas on the driveway. It will get worse with time. Even the landscaping is crap. My lawn is very uneven and when I pulled the sod over, there were giant rocks, lots of them, underneath. How is the grass supposed to root? Most of the grass is dead because we had no water pressure for about 10 days and after the plumber came over twice, they found the issue, replaced the entire piece and we finally were able to water out grass. Most of it was dead by then. A note was made by the person in charge of our home and we were supposed to get the dried sod replaced and nothing has been done. After complaining several times and wanting to speak to a manager, no one has reached out to me. I asked to for a change in person dealing with all the issues and he has finally given me a date of January 7 for most of the repairs. We plan to sell as soon as our son graduates. The quality of this home is so cheap. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on outside. There are no pull out drawers in the bathroom vanities or even a small linen closet. At least out some shelves for towels. We made an appointment to have custom cabinets placed in the laundry room, bathrooms and master closet. We have decided to just do the laundry room because we do not plan on making this our forever home. I will never purchase a Centex/Pulte home again!!! ... More

2 months in and have had more problems than anticipated with a new build. Cabinet doors, outside stonework pieces broken off, etc. You can see where they took easier routes (cheaper).

Weak tradesman. Average quality. The subs don't care. This is the lowest tier of construction quality that exists. Having said that, Pulte is a good company that really tries to take care of their customers
