Windows, garage door, yard, just the overall experience that i went through to buy the house left a sour taste in my mouth and even the realtor would choose the same. I wouldnt do it again

The trades and people who physically worked on the house was very poor quality and needed to be redone multiple times throughout the whole build process. The land scape was very poor to the point where most of it need to be redone and paid for by the home owner (myself). That includes uneven bed lines around mulched areas, the dirt that was used to level and grade the yard was extremely poor quality (rocks all throughout yard) and uneven when grass was laid making mowing and yard work very difficult. This was the same impression throughout the neighborhood, also the sprinkler system was done terribly (whoever did it shouldn’t be doing sprinkler systems period). My build manager did the best job he could with what he had and this review should not negatively impact him. ... More

The house is a beautiful house and we got it for a great price, but there are some things that I have issues with. Some of the walls are crooked. We had been told we would get a paint kit when we closed to touch up minor blemishes, but yet again day after day we are let down. The fininacial portion of the house was very smooth. No issues there. ... More

I would've given the Summit by pulte/centex 4 stars for value for price paid, BUT for one HUGE reason - their TWO-CAR garage doesn't fit ONE regular sized short-bed crewcab truck! One of the MAIN reasons I purchased a home was so I could safely park my truck when I went on long out of town journeys (which I do for at least 6 months in a year), so I was quite shocked to find out that my truck didn't fit (another 1 1/2 feet of depth of garage would've helped) inside the garage. When I reported it to the Pulte folks, they didn't bother to respond for several days and even when they did, they just told me "get a smaller vehicle"! You'd think that a single family home with a decent lot size IN TEXAS would fit a regular sized short bed pickup truck! I'll never ever buy a Pulte/centex home nor would I recommend it to any friends or family either. ... More

The buying experience was fantastic, the sales person(s) were fantastic, the original construction supervisors were great, and the construction seemed to be going well, as time to close on the sale was nearing the wheels fell off the building machine. It seemed everything that could go wrong went wrong, many items lacked in workmanship, many things didn't work, then it was a rush to the finish. ... More

Be prepared for issues to arise between your final walk through and closing. The field manager claimed that Centex would provide a "paint touch up kit", it never happened and I have several areas in my home that the builder failed to paint. I can't even get a response from the company just for the name of the paint color. I've been trying to get a response for several weeks. There was dirt rubbed into my carpet from electricians that were in my home doing work while I was closing. I came home immediately after closing and electricians were in my home, without anyone telling me they would be there. I am continuing to find caulk and paint on my carpets. My master bathtub was covered in sheetrock mud and other substances that took me hours to get out. Also, there is water-logged crown moulding that was left in my garage. The field manager said they would send someone to remove them...that was the first week of March and it still hasn't happened. Several doors didn't close properly within 2 weeks. They sent someone to fix them but my door trim was damaged during the process and they didn't repair it. All and all, there is a poor attention to detail, in my opinion. We are moderately happy with the home but expected more attention to detail for the money. ... More

We thought it was going to be great experience buying our first home. Boy were we wrong. The roof structure had many boards that needed reinforcement as well as a hole in the roof barrier. Initial inspection passed until we had our own inspector come through and point out many issues. Builders urinated in our new bath tubs with no running water. A port-a-toilet was literally outside next to our house. Electrical fixtures were crooked throughout and had to be straightened. Front porch post is not at a right angle/squared to the house. One month in and nails/screws are backing out of the sheetrock in 3 different places. Attention to detail during build is lacking throughout. ... More

My rental home was in better condition than what I thought would be a new home. My wife says the habitat for humanity home she grew up in didn't have as many errors. I don't know whether to trust any repairs would be more than just patch work rather than actually correcting the building errors and lack of craftsmanship. I regret buying a Centex home I regret trusting Centex with building my home. I don't know whether to just walk away from this home it's saddening to know Centex builders have such a low moral standard when building homes. I've called the building manager several times with no answer. I would really like a representative of Centex corporate to see the obvious errors. Walls aren't straight I know cause I checked the most obvious one with a leveler the top of the wall is level where the obvious lower part is pulling forward the leveler verified this. Their in a gap between the granite counter top and the lower kitchen shelves it's obvious the same issue is present in the master bathroom but they used a nail gun to try and attach the restroom lower cabinet to the wall then they used seal to fill in the gap running the length of the master sink they even left a nail popping out the side of the lower restroom cabinet with no attempt to remove it it's just popping out. Shady and extremely poor craftsmanship all the way around my house. To many errors to list I'm extremely disappointed and looking into other options to abandon this house. Biggest mistake of my life was choosing a Centex home. ... More
