We originally were supposed to have our house completed in the very early summer when we signed our contract but that got pushed and pushed until October. Not to mention we moved in with trades still painting the exterior of our house and the lawn still being laid. There was numerous times we had asked if something could be fixed or done and got told yes, just to find out it was either not fixed, or fixed with minimum effort (usually shooting a bunch of caulk or silicone at the problem). We had about 3 items that we immediately submitted to warranty after moving in because we had told the CM about them at least a month in advance and they still weren’t fixed. I watched many of the trades work on my house and I can tell everyone that it’s largely in part to just the standard of quality these trades hold for themselves. I’ve walked behind painters and told them spots they missed before. And that’s not something I should be having to do as the buyer. List of problems we had, or are still having: Lawn (they laid the sod and never rolled it or completely just didn’t put sod down in some places. My lawn is so bumpy that it’s difficult to mow and I’m now periodically buying sand to level my yard.) Walls aren’t square. Some of the shorter lengths of walls, it’s very apparent that the drywall and studs are not square to opposing walls. 2 sheets of drywall have become visible through the tape, mud, and texture of the ceiling. There was a piece of trim I could fit my hand behind. There was a piece of door trim that was so far away from the floor that you could feel a draft when you put a hand next to it. Then when they put the door trim on, the painters forgot to paint both sides of the door trim, and they got paint on my floor that I had to scrape off. Lots of our exterior siding had cracks where nails were put through too hard. We had a roof leak almost immediately. Not to mention that you’re putting 300k+ out for a house and you get zero options. You get it as it comes. Then the HOA this builder has chosen for this area doesn’t even send you mail to set up your accounts but they will drive the neighborhood at least twice a month and fine you for your trash cans being in front of the garage door. Overall super happy with the amount of home I got for the price, love the location and my neighbors. But the quality is not up to standards. I purchased my home on 12/6/2021. My move-in date kept getting pushed back. The sales rep that initially handled my purchase quit and I fell into the proverbial cracks. I was never told the appliances I chose were not available when I was buying the matching refrigerator, so my kitchen doesn't match. I was never called in to choose my flooring, during the build my a/c unit came in before they poured the cement slab down so my a/c unit is on cement blocks and the builder down right refused to fix it and do it right. I had to get things in writing for any future issues that may come along. I have repairs I have been waiting to be done for almost a month and I'm told it's the supplier delaying the fix. From the initial signing of the contract I was misinformed, misled and not informed of decisions that would impact my home or my closing. I was shown a home initially that was supposed to be similar to my build before signing the contract that had all the bells and whistles only to be told after my house comes with “none” of it i.e iron rails, trey ceilings, blinds, ceiling fans, crown molding, sprinklers ,large kitchen island, toilets not made for toddlers and nor can I add it to my expense. I had several mortgage consultants give me incorrect information about incentives and additional monies that would be given to me. I was told by another sales rep that due to the timing and delays I could request to add incentives such as sprinklers, ceiling fans and etc… none were true. My mortgage consultant Donnie said since I was paying for the loan I could request management to add additional customizations before my build was complete, again not true I had concerns of the quality of the home and construction initially in the early phases and my external inspection had several flaws indicating poor quality in my build. Within a week or two of that I had a major flood leak that put 2.5 inches of water from an upstairs bathroom tub leak that flooded the entire downstairs in the bathroom that created more delays. Unfortunately for us my fiancée and myself brought both our parents to surprise them of our new home but unbeknownst to me this day would end in embarrassment and concern for our purchase rather than praise. Once appliances were installed I had my oven range stolen and front door damaged. I was given a later close date then it was readjusted a several more times. There were so many inconsistencies with process of building a home and I am not a first time home buyer. I had several project managers change on me and that also led to poor communication and follow through. I raised my concerns about specific items and my home but was told not to worry about it. Throughout my build I had to escalate to VP of construction Matt and sales to see if they could make my situation better only to be told the work will get done with great quality, which turned out to be false. He gave me a promise that he couldn’t keep. I had leaks in my toilet, bathroom sink and windows that couldn’t close properly and terrible painting throughout my home. I felt my needs weren’t being met as well as my concerns being heard and they were solely focusing on closing me out so year end could report a successful close. My construction manager Corey had to work miracles to make last minute changes and deal with my complaints but ultimately it falls back on the company for failing to meet a builders needs of quality and trust. My sister was using another home builder and they had one project manager to max 2 homes but here at Centex/Pulte they have one project manager to 20 plus homes, and this is where lack of follow up, poor quality, mistakes and overall poor build comes from. I would only recommend this home to a first time home buyer that just needs a place to live or someone not caring of quality of the home and especially not at the price I was given. The house price was over inflated and at 400k and blinds not being part of the package and the options selected for you are the lowest of the low quality that you can find at Home Depot on sale. Like I stated before it was a travesty and I’m glad that it’s over with so now the real construction can begin of what I wasn’t allowed to add. Every part of the home was built with poor quality and design and has left a bad taste in this consumers mouth. It’s irritating you wait 10 months to put your newly built home back into construction because your needs weren’t met. Poor leadership and vision leads to poor satisfaction of your consumer. Since I’ve been in my home. Looking at the craftsmanship and the materials everything is on the lowest level. Things were promise from the final inspection that were never completed. Called the builder who was my only contact during the building process over two weeks ago still waiting on a return call.

There's lots of horror stories online about new builds from all companies, so I was hesitant at first going with a new construction but in the end am very happy I did. The whole process can take a while and be stressful at times but at the end of it all i moved into a great home in a great location. Landon was great to work with and sent weekly updates on the building process. He also made sure anything that needed to be touched up got done. I am confident in the quality of the home and also feel good knowing that if anything comes up in that warranty period they will take care of it. Definitely would recommend to anyone on the fence about going with a new build or not. ... More

The sales and supervisors we worked with were great to work with. However, the craftsmanship in the house is pretty terrible. Cheap carpet and floors. Terrible paint jobs inside and out. Everything inside the house looks like it was done by someone who does not take pride in their work.

While the home is nice, we are starting to find minor to major issues which I will not type here. I will say that if I had to do it again I would get a home inspector before signing off on the final home inspection.

Very good subdivision..I love it,the houses are very homey..the landscaping in the area is superb. Myra and Cody are very knowledgeable in their work and with good customer service ..

Stephen was on top of all issues and addressed concerns in a timely manner. Every after we moved in!

Landon provided excellent communication throughout the build process. He provided an update each week on the progress of my home, be it good or bad. So I never questioned what was going on with the home and I didn't have to make a drive out to the house (almost an hour away) to check on progress. Hayley was also great in communicating - quickly responding to to all of my questions (even when I asked the same question multiple times ;-)). Couldn't have asked for a better team to work with.

My only discontentment was, the counter for the kitchen was not same as the bathroom counters and the selection of styles/design were very limited. Therefore, the materials for the bathrooms such as the counters, shower wall boards, faucets, and light switch for the entire house are very basic and plain. I'm not sure if Centex offers a modern interior material as I wasn't asked. But I should have also requested for an upgraded selection of styles and design of materials.

Kristin was always available to answer questions, just like Ardit. Weekly updates kept us in the loop on schedules and when we could expect things to happen. not only did they keep us informed, but we moved in ahead of the projected completion date! The buying process was so easy, it was almost scary!

The quality of the house is NOT close to the Centex Home I bought 20 years ago. The walls are not straight, kick boards look like snakes. Even after three walk throughs, I still find walls are not straight up. So I gave up pointing out the problems. I can show you the issues. My address is 5818 Artcurus, San Antonio, TX 78218. I bought this Pulte Home because of the solid house I bought from Centex/Pulte in Retama Park in 2003. The workmanship back then was great, I had no problems at all for the entire 8 years I lived in it. Because of that experience, I decided to buy this house as investment early this year. During buying this house, your sales Alex and construction customer service Walker are great, courteous and professional. But the workmanship of the house is not what I expected. Construction people gave timely updates on build progress and the mortgage people at the closing office were really nice.

Workmanship can get better, there was a lot of areas that were different measurement such as windows. Several doors had large gaps on the bottom. The huge one for me was that there was no blinds at all in the home, it is very hard to find the all the measurements. there are over 10 windows in the home.

The home ostelf is nice and, if made with care, would have been a great home. Unfortunately, I was not given any spicket for the backyard, the floors creek, and laying down the sod was shoddy. Make sure you notice as much as you can before closing because after you do, good luck getting something worked on.

The final version of our home is great! It was a long process but worth the wait. I was sad to see some workmanship issues. Felt like they cut corners at times. House was not really ready at close in my opinion. Staff and project manager have been exceptionally good at making things right.

Not the right home if you are fairly meticulous and have a high level of attention to detail. The standards of finish on these homes are unfortunately low, including the final cleaning and especially the hasty caulking throughout. Having not been able to attend the final walkthrough, I was very regretful of my purchase when I did see the home.

The grass that was installed was terrible. Most didn’t have dirt connected to it and is straw now. I mentioned it to the contractor and he said they were switching sod companies that only benefited my neighbors that have really nice sod now.

Overcharging for houses that don’t have fans or garage door openers. Then telling me by not putting fans and garage door opener that I’m somehow saving money which is not at all.

Price is pretty comparable to other builders. The work however…SHODDY WORKMANSHIP!!! I wish I could post pictures. The turnaround time on the home was FAST but unfortunately the workmanship suffers. All the work from the cement subfloor to the paint and texture to the cabinets is poorly done. Unfortunately, we did not notice the majority of these things until we moved in. We closed two months earlier than expected so that should’ve been a red flag!!! Salesman and construction manager were very communicative though!

The build quality is not there most of the workers are drinking during the day no supervision project managers just come and unlock the house in the morning and lock it up in the evening they do not check every time a stage of the build is finished they wait till the end of the build I've never seen them punch any blue tape on the second floor homes exterior so I guess it's just what they can see at ground level on there exterior walk for imperfections both my exterior hose faucets were not secure to the 2x4 and my master bathroom leaked into my downstairs bedroom they forgot to tighten the connection to the pipe shoty work because lack of supervision landscape laid right on top of your weeds no tilling my tree died already they said there's no warranty on landscape me and my neighbor got the same keys for our homes so I went and purchased my own they said no reimbursement could be made for me were the quality and the stand behind pledge? ...
