Century Communities - I was very happy with the process and the people we worked with.

I was very happy with the process and the people we worked with. Moving in made me change my mind. Quality of work is not there at all. After living here for a few months we have noticed the corners that they have cut. Its not our first time building so we know things break, not the only ones in the neighborhood with the same issues. I would not build with them again.

Century Communities responded:
Mynor- Thank you for taking the time to share. Please contact our team so we can look at your concerns. go to our web site at www.centurycommunities.com and open a work order.

Nice home, ugly process.

From the initial agreement documents (80+pages), to the lender they required me to use in order to get the incentives, to the punch list items, I have been frustrated beyond ever being able to enjoy this home. The owners are lawyers and their contract was an unconscionable document. I should have had an attorney review but of course the agreement had to be executed then because they claimed it would be sold that day. High Pressure tactics. Punch list items have never been addressed partially because of the pandemic, but after submitting requests thru their online warranty portal, I have yet ...

Seems to be over priced with the cheap Matte paint, that’s nearly impossible to clean. The floors and countertops didn’t come sealed and must do that on your own. Everything about the house feel cheap.

Very poor communication

From start to...well it’s almost four months since close and we aren’t done yet so I can’t say to finish, it has been poor communication and quality. The only saving grace to my blood pressure has been Lisa and Matt. John was very friendly as well. The oversight in building some of these houses has been non-existent. Living in trash outside everywhere is despicable and embarrassing. I’m tired and just want my house fixed like new...since it is.

Century Communities responded:
David-after speaking with the team they cleaned up the trash around the house and put up a silt fence to try and stop construction trash from blowing in your yard. Century Communities is on hold with the remaining interior repairs due to Covid-19. Once we get the green light please contact your customer relations manager to resume.

The quality of the building materials and install is below standard for a private residence even for a track home. The quality is similar to that of an apartment complex. There are limitations to the combinations of the items you can upgrade. You must stay with what the design team has put together in their design package ideas for your home you are purchasing. The response to issues are good, however; the workmanship for the repairs is not any better than the original workmanship and the trades need to keep coming back to "attempt" the repairs the same things. During the loan process, the ...

We were never supplied air filters for our house. Our property line has moved since putting in a new house next door. Still have an electric issue in our guest bathroom. Had an exposed wire in master bedroom that tripped and burnt out the fan. Our back door was dented they replaced it but never replaced the framing due to water damage and breaking the frame when replacing the door so now it doesn’t lock except for the doorknob. Never finished the sod in our yard plus with a new house next door one of the workers drove through it. Painters missed several spots after coming out but the only ...

There are things form my drywall walk through that still haven't been fixed. They refused to give me a floor plan with dimensions and now things are smaller than I expected and my car doesn't fit in the garage. The builder also put a $2MM bond on the HOA that all the residents have to not pay back in their taxes.

Within 2 months of move in, faced all kinds of issues. Smaller issues are taken care in warranty, but there are some major issues which requires some attention from Century which never happens. They acknowledge it's an issue but no clear communication on how and when its going to be fixed.

Century Communities responded:
Saikiran- After talking to the team they have addressed your concerns stated above and the only outstanding thing left is the back yard which as agreed we are waiting for the spring for the right conditions.

Needs to use better quality materials

The quality of the materials used (ie. extremely loud furnace, cheap carpet, poor functioning drawers, thin walls, stucco mistakes, external paint mismatches, etc.) have been very disappointing. We have had to fight to have some of these looked at and some they won't do). The builder was amazing, but the company is too big to serve you in a personal way.

Century Communities responded:
Thank you for your feed back- Everyday Century works to make the homeowners experience a good/great one. We are truly sorry yours didn't go that way. Quality of all materials is mediocre and the workmanship in all areas of trim, paint, kitchen cabinets is poor. Of course we cannot see beneath the surface to access the construction, but if the cracks in our front walk way and all the way across our driveway are any indication, I would expect it to be the same as what I can observe. The local staff, (sales, construction manager) are very nice.

The size and space of the home is everything that I wanted. Compared to pricing in other communities was a reasonable deal. With that said, it is true that you get what you pay for. Prior to my closing I saw a plethora of things that needed to be either repaired or replaced. The builder made me feel as though my concerns were not valid and pretty much brushed me off. if wasn't until after I made several complaints to corporate that something was done. There are still a lot of things that need to be addressed. I was made promises from the builder that certain issues would be taken care of back ...

Materials are average with several repairs required. Painting was incomplete or incorrect color/finish requiring painters to return to correct. Master closet clothing poles are pulling down away from shelving supports due to a combination of poor materials and too few supports and requires repair to be scheduled.

We were told a lot of things, that made us purchase. When it came time for all those things to happen, it was apology after apology. They fired our agent mid buying, never told us until we had a question to ask, and couldn’t get a hold of her. They used her as an excuse for the all ‘misinformation’. I still have never had a warranty walk through or explanation. I still have things they said ‘we will fix after closing’ that aren’t three months later. I love my home, but the buying, building, and post closing were all horrible experiences I feel because the lack of leadership and consistency ...

We have had a ticket in for 2 cracked tiles in our kitchen for almost 2 months. Still havent been contacted. Our whirlpool microwave gave us issues the first week. Someone came out to look at it and he seemed to think it was the way we were closing our microwave. It clearly is not the way we are closing it. You should not have to hold your hand on the microwave door in order for your food to heat up. We continue to have the same issue. I have taken videos to show what we deal with. Our whirlpool dishwasher does not dry our dishes. It never has since we moved it. Its almost easier to work ...

We moved in what we thought was going to be our last home purchase. Loved the floor plan, we had a few issues before signing which is normal. Some where fixed others we were told would be taken care of. 1. Upstairs floors creak every time you walk. So embarrassed over the Thanksgiving holiday. Guest were asking how “old is this house”? We responded we just moved in 3 1/2 months ago. They told us y’all got taken! When it rains the patio is soaked as if there isn’t a covering. (Gutters are bad). I was told to call the people on the list we were given and to our surprise no one knows who to ...

I was referred to Century Communities by a friend whose home had been built by CC. I really loved the way his home looked inside and out. It also appeared to be well built, so I decided to go with CC and have a home built with them. Apparently over the course of time CC made changes to its included features list and a lot things my friend got with his home were now taken off the feature list. I was lucky to be able to get blinds included but only in the front of the home. Going to the showroom was very overwhelming since everything has to be picked that day and no changes can be made once ...

Sales process was good. No issues. The superintendents did not seem to care about quality or schedule. Major issues were still being addressed even on closing day...it was a 9-19 month build from contract to close...there should have been plenty of time to address issues in that time. Still dealing with quality issues. Several warranty items have been easier since closing. The warranty team has been fantastic and responsive.

We love our home but all of the ongoing issues we have had and are still fighting to get corrected have been beyond exhausting. From sewage leaks to roof leaks to an incorrectly elevated front porch (those are just the bigger issues) it has been never ending since moving in and therefore left us little time to enjoy the benefits of owning a new home. Unfortunately, it will make us rethink buying a home from Century in the future. One of the biggest disappointments has been the lack of care that was put into the drywall throughout the house.
