Wouldn't build with Century Again

Sales process was good. No issues. The superintendents did not seem to care about quality or schedule. Major issues were still being addressed even on closing day...it was a 9-19 month build from contract to close...there should have been plenty of time to address issues in that time. Still dealing with quality issues. Several warranty items have been easier since closing. The warranty team has been fantastic and responsive.

If Century built their houses the same way they responded to issues AFTER the house is sold, they would be out of business.

We love our home but all of the ongoing issues we have had and are still fighting to get corrected have been beyond exhausting. From sewage leaks to roof leaks to an incorrectly elevated front porch (those are just the bigger issues) it has been never ending since moving in and therefore left us little time to enjoy the benefits of owning a new home. Unfortunately, it will make us rethink buying a home from Century in the future. One of the biggest disappointments has been the lack of care that was put into the drywall throughout the house. There are crooked ceiling lines in almost every ...

Warranty follow up is horrible

I have been in the home about 4 months now and I have been waiting almost 2 months from the time I submitted a warranty ticket for someone to come and fix my issues. Still no one. One of the issues is a major security risk for my family and the lack of response is disturbing. My first month of being in the house was great and I had great correspondence but it has gone downhill ever since.
Century Communities responded:
Kwesi,
After communicating with the team it looks as though the work was completed as scheduled and Rob is scheduled to meet with you to assess new items on 10/1

Make sure you really do your research & really look into everything when buying a home from century communities. They will make everything sound super nice & awesome just to make a sell. We have had so many issues since closing, that we truly regret buying a house. Also be aware of the HOA!!!

Not impressed

Started out good but now, four months in. Not impressed! Seeing / finding more flaws with the quality of workmanship. We had leak from the bathtub above the dining room which was fixed. However, we have seen no one to fix the water damage in the ceiling caused by the leak since it happened. We going on 2 months since that occurred. We starting to notice more flaws as well. Stair treads, gutters, lack of caulking, and other things here and there. Biggest concern for me is the amount of material I am discovering buried in the yard. Wire, silt fence, bricks, lumber, concrete, roofing and so on. ...
Century Communities responded:
Ricky, looks like we fell short and are deserving of the marks and comments. We understand that someone has since been to your home, including the resolution of the leak that occurred. We hope to be able to restore your trust in us with our most recent response.

Standards are not maintained at all places in the house. The house is handed over with lack of workmanship and quality of construction. Many repairs had to be performed and still issues are coming up. It has major design flaws and also missing wood at some places.

There was alot of problems with the property before and after moving in . 1st. the vent were not installed on the roof . Which got done on the closing date. 2nd been complaining about the drainage since day 1 and its killing the grass and rotting the fences . Going on 4 months now . Who would even think that clay foundation would drain correctly. Needs better grading and drain system if that's the way the engineers think clay drains . 3rd . The brick pointing needs to be redone. Bricks are cracking and there's holes all in the brick pointing. 4th 2 different tiles in upstairs ...

1. They are so busy they have no time to walk you through and talk you through the house, lot size or dimensions when buying. 2. They say that you have a year to address any issues, but hardly any are addressed. Please talk to residents there to get to know the true picture. 3. The quality of construction is BAD. I see many cracks already appearing in around walls and window frames.

We have a number of open issues , still dealing with it even after 3 months. Plumbing leak, appliances issues, broken windows, floor, you name it, we have it all. It’s a nightmare to deal with post sales support. No responses and endless chasing. It seems Century have no QA before they release the homes to customers.

The workmanship is poor. There are so many issues that I have identified during the walk through and post move in. Yet some of them are NOT resolved. I have escalated to multiple people, yet not all issues are resolved. After a time, I just gave up. I would never buy a home again from Century communities again. Neither would I recommend you guys to my family and friends.

Terrible experience, the home has had so many issues and it takes forever to get anything done, been here for over 3 months and still major issues from when we moved in not taken care of, terrible workmanship, lack of care and the details on baseboards, cabinets, flooring were bad. When we moved in the house was dirty spent a whole day cleaning it and still finding tape and crap throughout the house. Worst decision I made in purchasing from this builder

My new build was extremely delayed (5 months) which might be have been fine on its own if not for the poor communication. I was not given timely updates and was given timelines that were highly unrealistic based on the progress I could see on the house. I would send emails, texts, call and often not hear back for a week which was extremely frustrating as I needed updates in order to figure out my living situation and to work with my lender. They did not take into consideration any of the items identified in my independent inspection. They had me do my “final” walkthrough prior to toilets ...

We moved in to Mayfield back in December 2020. Needless to say there were multiple red flags throughout the home building experience. On the day of closing we found out our Hot Water heater was not working, toe kick in the bathroom missing, and the house not cleaned and filthy. Through out the last few months, we have had electrical issues, HVAC issues, and now AC issues. This month the AC was the third major failure of the home. If you are thinking it is a fluke, both Niagra and Newport St homes have electrical issues, water heater issues, and HVAC issues. In fact it is so bad, we cannot ...

Century Communities - We could not make any changes and were misled on what was included

We could not make any changes and were misled on what was included with the home. Additionally the construction manager quit with no notice and left his employees to fix the issues he never addressed. The homes are being built way too fast with sloppy workmanship and poor quality building materials and appliances. Additionally the HOA dues cover snow removal but no one showed...residents had to clear the streets. I love the location but seriously disappointed in the quality.
