Great house floor plan and location. Terrible finish quality. Builder is all about the $$$ and not the customer satisfaction.

Disappointed with the miscommunication of available options i.e. available storage to be purchased and the subsequent dismissal of trying to work something out with after the purchase.

Century Communities responded:
Gregory- we appreciate your feed back. We will take this opportunity to share this with the division leadership team as well as the field team. Communication is the key when there are lots of moving parts.

Cheap products, cheap labor, and absolutely zero quality control

After living in the house for a few months, we found significant problems with the building quality and type of labor performed. It is apparent that building quality control checks were never accomplished; example: carpet/tile/evp installed on even flooring, baseboards not cut properly, cracking/separating of seals prior to season changes, dented/damaged appliances (stove, dishwasher) on install, etc. The builders had carved/grinded the shape of a penis on our front porch near the front door (we have a photo). A toilet was installed, used (vomit or diarrhea left on toilet seat) and was not ...

Sales “agents” are not very knowledgeable or serviceable. Certainly not customer focused as they will simply sell the home to another buyer instead of working with purchaser. Sales agents speak about neighboring homeowners to other purchasers and are otherwise unprofessional. Punch lists still incomplete after sale (unsurprisingly, as this seems to be a common issue, but it is surprising how unwilling they are complete lists). Concrete steps and garage floor are concave and hold standing water. Upgrades installed poorly, excuse given was we designed “a complicated house”. Overall a ...

Not happy Avoid Century

I would avoid. Expensive house and Century wouldnt work on price on spec home with building issues. Supervisor rude to salesperson when discussing pricing. The worst part is the build quality is poor. Windows not level. Paint all over floor. Trash buried underneath sod. Missing items that we paid for. Construction supervisor does not hold construction people accountable. The most frustrating thing is construction supervisor is poor communicator and unresponsive.

The work on the condo was rushed just to meet quotas. There is a lot of sloppy work. Balcony has not been repainted. No response from project manager when asked when they can fix anything. Overall very bad experience.

My wife and I were extremely excited about our first home. We closed on our home on Dec 17th. On the day of closing we went to our new home to see if everything that was requested to be fixed was done. We walked in extremely disappointed. Nothing was done. Ryan said, that everyone was busy with the holidays coming up. Therefore, they were a little behind. My wife and I understood. We also run a business and holidays can make projects run behind. Ryan promised to get everything done within the next week or so. Our first baby was due on January 9th. So we figured everything would be done by ...

My experience with this builder was that I was often told things that were untrue and they were impossibly frustrating to get a hold of. When I agreed to purchase I was told I’d have a fenced in backyard and patio. I ended up with a balcony only. I was told one thing for the downstairs footprint, and reality was different - when I. Asked about it they said they weren’t going to change it to what I was told. They also changed my closing date 3 times after giving me an initial promised date. When I would try to get a hold of them to ask questions, they would not answer unless I physically ...

Do not buy a Century Home in Atlanta

  • Patricia A.

I purchased my home in September 2019. Century is now refusing to complete warranty work unless I remove my domestic partner from our home due to a few strongly worded emails he sent to the warranty manager after poor communication from Century as to when repairs would be made. I now have a damaged floor, damaged exterior column, cracked tiles in the master bath shower that remain in disrepair. Someone from Corporate needs to get involved as we do not trust the Atlanta legal and mgmt team. We would like to avoid a lawsuit. All I am asking is that Century meet its contractual obligations ...

If you buy one of these homes be prepared to stay on them throughout the build process. We were not able to do that and are in the middle of warranty issues just to bring the house up to acceptable standards let alone the sloppy workmanship in some areas and subpar materials. If you could find another builder I would highly suggest it.

Hard to deal with warranty department and a lot of incomplete tasks inside and outside house, I do have an AC issue since day on my second floor, several complaints been made and Century don't assume to resolve the problem, since AC system wasn't designed properly to deliver the right amount of cooling and heating. The builders don’t keep their promise to correct visible problems like botched drywall and messy paint jobs. One bathroom has the hot/cold water switched we almost burned our hands. Sales rep. not knowledgeable about certain features so it is best you ask someone in charge so you don’t buy a home and realize things you were advised were standard are an add on. You are given cheap mulch, sod and shrubs.

I've been in my new home for 3 1/2 months right now and have not been happy with the quality of workmanship and materials of the home both inside and out-things are began to fall apart and when I send home warranty request I have to send them twice before anyone answers and when they do they said my phone number was not working but yet they have my email address and I'm certain I put the correct phone on the warranty request. I know they are cheap homes but still the workmanship and materials should not be cheap, I'm just not use to this quality of anything and I guess the saying "you get ...

We made our home purchase based upon the lot. The entire process with Century was a struggle. This is a one year build. The original construction manager was replaced halfway and of course all of the agreements and understandings disappeared with him including the marked up preconstruction plans. Here is a not all inclusive list of some of the problems. Sod was just laid over rocky sand. No borders were placed between sod and landscaping. Roof is stick framed. Master shower drain was clogged with trash and unmentionables. AC was not properly charged. Jacuzzi tub was changed to plain ...

Trees, bushes and sod are buried or placed on red clay and rocks without soil amendment. Plants, trees and grass struggle to grow. Management ignores it. Trees with root balls need to be buried in a hole 2-3 times the root ball size with healthy soil to survive. 2nd floor buckled when furniture was set in place.

Love the style of home, but I continue to encounter issues around workmanship and poor follow up from the company. For instance, I Had a warranty issue and though I followed the online process per the builder, I never received a call from the warranty department to complete the process. I contacted the community warranty leader to get the job done. From the time I reported water damage to the time of completion of the issue and the aesthetics was well over a month, for an issue that could have been addressed in one day. No “crew” was onsite for more than 20 minutes to correct my problem. But ...

The builders lender quoted a competitive interest rate before we signed the contract and then the rate was 1.5 points higher when we were ready to lock (3 days later). We told them we were backing out and somehow the rate came down a full point. Throughout the process the lender representatives spelled our names incorrectly (different ways each time) and sent emails with required information to the wrong email addresses. Thank goodness they somehow got our realtor's email address correct, or we would still be waiting to get information from them. While at closing, the lender called the title ...
