This experience has been an absolute nightmare. From the builders not following the plans to just plain leaving things unfinished. They have made all kinds of promises that have not been followed up. When we walked the house on the day of closing they forced us to sign off on the house even though it was not finished and had many problems that needed to be addressed. They threatened that if we did not sign off on the condition of the house we would not be allowed to close and would possibly lose the house and our deposit. We have lived here for 4 months and still our home is not finished even ...

I closed the house on Jan 29th, first issue arose when the pipe behind the bathroom shower burst flooding the basement and closets. The bathroom tiles 2 of them have been taken out and the carpet removed. Literally it is more than a month now and I have not been able to use the shower. The customer experience is very bad the maintenance crew never show up on time and they block the whole day just to stay at home for them cancelling all my appointments. They never update / give courtesy calls , if i reach out to the warranty team they hit back at me asking not to call them and are very rude. ...

It was not a great experience. There have been so many issues with plumping and HVAC since moving in. Although they are responsive to requests, it should not have been an issue in the first place. Spending so much time trying to get things fixed!

There was a bit of a bait and switch on the pricing. The sell sheet, we were issued on a house, the sales person had written down. Once we began the contract process a new price appeared and had to be renegotiated. There was an area of the floor which felt like you were walking up hill. The difference was 5/8 of an inch drop over 4 feet. After having several contractors stop by, they decided that although this was an issue of seating of the joist on the foundation wall, they were just going to grind down the subfloor to resolve it. The contractor came and took out an 1/8, which did not ...

I moved into my house 12/31, since then there has been cracking all over the house. Floor boards are separating, and paint mismatches all over. can't hang my close in the master closet with out it falling apart. Thursday 4/9/2021 I turned my a/c on, it doesn't work. The cabinets are poorly assembled. We need to bring some to the house to inspect the construction again,

As being a first time home buyer and being able to up grade and build my home just how I envisioned for my family at the start and through out the build was very exciting. Until I did my walk through I was very shocked on how many things were left undone or not finish from cut out in the dry wall to doors not being painted, which after the walk through the superintendent had 5 days to complete or fix due to the closing date 12/28/2020. Upon my closing date I did a secondary walk with the superintendent Ryan who I showed areas of my concern such as (2) of the master bedroom windows not opening ...

Lower your expectations. Houses are built based on speed not quality. Floors and uneven, walls aren’t straight, paint drips and missed spots everywhere, gaps in all finishes. Warranty items are only responded to if you state “water is leaking”.

We had many many problems throughout the build process. Our salesman was pretty unresponsive to emails. We had multiple things not finished before closing, and the only reason I closed was because we'd lose $10K if we didn't. We still have an issue with our roof that I pointed out to them at least 4 months before close. The area manager told me they would fix it, but here we are 4 months post-close, and the issue still remains. Overall, a horrible process and will absolutely never build a home with Century Communities again.

Working with Craig has been absolutely miserable. He doesn’t respond to messages and shrugs off any issues I have with my house. No one responds to warranty issues. Lori has been absolutely worthless in assisting with contacting Craig. When it came to taking money in the beginning, I received nothing but emails and text messages from Lori. Now I have heard nothing from her regarding any issue I have had with my house. I wish I never purchased a home with Century Communities.

Century applied an arbitrary lot premium to the purchase price which was significantly higher than purchase price of adjacent lots and would not adjust the purchase price after the price of adjacent lots was discovered through search of public records. I do not have many good things to say about the experience with this builder. The entire process from start to finish was extremely stressful. I had to micro manage each piece of the process to ensure details were not missed, and an accurate job was done. Worst experience through out all phases - contract, buying, warranty issues. Sales agents do not have any information/experience with their job, you always get wrong information. Building quality is poorest. I moved in 2 months back. I already have multiple serious issues. One of them is water leak in basement. I’m part way through my 4th month of owning my first home. Meeting my neighbors and sharing stories – some of them horror about our brand new homes. I think I’ve faired a bit better than some, but overall I have decided the quality of the home is not worth the money I paid for it. It’s become very clear to me the reason my house was ready 1.5 months earlier than anticipated --- it was a poor construction job with poor and cheap materials – it was rushed! I’ve submitted many service requests to fix some of my issues and will be submitting many more. I am trying to be patient with my place ...

Build on the cheap. Gloss over the product with fictional hip and sell on the high side to back up the hip. It would be difficult to trust this builder if I were to still be in the market for a home and know what I know about their product. This home was to be our last home and due to our age it most likely will. Century Communities failed with this house and if the lack of workmanship present in this house is an example of their attention to design and detail, I feel others who have bought from this builder may be experiencing buyers remorse as I am feeling with ever issue I deal with. ...

We bought our home in April and have yet to fully move in. The amount of repairs are endless, to get someone to show up, show on time, or even get a response is impossible. Our floors have been replaced once and less than a week later had the same issues. The bosses came and looked, agreed and promised they’d have an answer to fix within 2 days. It’s been 2 weeks and we have yet to hear anything from them. If you want a home to call home and new one ready to move into this isn’t the company you’d want to purchase with.

Century Communities does a great job at selling you a dream home, but lacks accountability and controls of their construction processes. Do you want to feel happy about your purchase and reassured that all requirements in the development and construction processes were met? Do you want a builder that follows through on their commitments when they’ve made an error? Wouldn’t you rather not have to chase down executives at their company to understand what’s going on with your property’s issues? If so, then I suggest you avoid Century Communities as your builder.

Sales process was great. Quality of home is fine. However, the weekend prior to closing Century failed to secure our home, and subcontractors used our home as a break room. Due to work boots, Sheetrock mud, etcetera, our hardwoods were destroyed. We’re almost 4 months out now and century still hasn’t done the right thing and replaced them, even though their representatives agree that needs to happen. We have other issues as well. After sale, even though people are “nice” nothing seems to get accomplished. We’re extremely sad to say that we can not recommend Century due to post sale issues.
Century Communities responded:
Heather- thank you for your candid response. We have notified the team/division. With the pandemic (COVID19) we understand scheduling trades and timely responses have been a challenge. We are working diligently through the work orders that have come in since March even when we couldn't schedule anything because of state and federal mandates at the time.

Due to a leak in my wall from a drain pipe that was never properly connected to the plumbing, I’ve dealt with issue after issue. The first leak started on March 27th and I am STILL waiting for wards Er to finish repairs on July 7th. They’ve left my stove disconnected from the gas since June 18th for the repairs and I haven’t been able to cook at home since.
