Poor customer service

I’m still waiting on fixes to issues with my home that I reported back in August, Others in the Century Communities neighborhood have reported the same problems and concerns. The company needs to improve their customer service and keep their word. One of my biggest issues right now is that we have to run the water for over a minute to start getting somewhat hot water. The company advertises these are energy efficient homes and they’re not. I’ve never had utility bills this high anywhere else before. I’ve also had to report on other issues multiple times to have only some of them be addressed ...

The houses are poorly built. I had many problems with my house after moved in less than a month. water damage, AC, water leaking etc. you name it. Let alone other small things. I have bought new houses before. I have to say Century community is by far the worst regarding to quality which is the essence to the builder. Really hope Century Community can take the quality seriously. People are buying houses to live there for years to come. Please have some work ethics and build good houses. Otherwise, you are just wasting land!

Disappointed with the overall craftmanship of the work.

The house is beautiful, but the details show many issues. The paint job on the base molding is not smooth you can actually see the spray and the dots. This makes it difficult to clean with the surface is not smooth. The drywall has soo many issues, the workers really did not care when they worked on my house. Walking into the model home everything looks amazing and how a nee build show look. But my house does not have the same care that went into making the model. There is nail coming out of my corner round and is painted. Like how careless can one be? It is very dangerous and hard to see ...

Worst Home Buying Experience

As a first time home buyer i would have never imagined that this would have been such a stressful process from day one i moved into our home it has been nothing but problems & we've been in the house for about 3 months now either something wasn't done right or it was done very poorly. i feel with this builder all they care about is closing on the home and getting there money and if there's are done wrong they either tell you "that's how it is" or there's nothing that can be done and expect you to just say OK and that's it. Price wise for the homes are good & decent but the poor workmanship ...

This is starting to be the worst home buying experience ever in my life. From the beginning of trying to switch me as the primary on the loan, to the Air Conditioner in the house being way too loud & sounding like a hurricane. The next two issues deals with the A/C condensation lines releasing large amounts of water, that is destroying the landscaping/soil of the yard. This is due to the incline/grade of the yard. The next issue is; moving into the home and not having the stakes on the right side of the house, to see our boundary line for landscaping.

There is no pride in workmanship anymore. If I had to do it over again, I would pass.

We paid hard earned money for a new home. The Sales Process and Sales Team was wonderful. But the rest is substandard. If I had to do it over again, I would pass. We have issues that were cataloged during final walk-thru that remains unresolved. They haven't been in touch in months. Workmanship is horrible and clearly their is no pride in what they do. We notified the Project Manager of issues during construction and he just ignores them. I wish I had positive things to say about my experience because this was my dream home. I worked all my life to get this home. But I just can't.

Century Communities responded:
Hello Elaine-

I've spoken to the Vegas team and it looks like they have spoken with you last week and you'll be submitting a claim through www.centurycommunities.com.

At Century we strive to make things right in a not so perfect world of construction. We will continue to do this because our ultimate goal is for you to love your home.

You have to watch Century very closely, we have been in the house for 3 mos and still have not had final items that were supposed to be done within 2 weeks of closing. During the construction time we continuously found errors and had to report them to get them corrected. The lack of attention to detail was a challenge to us.

Neighborhood looks like a dump site. Home looks 10 years old already. Absolutely no response to issues.

Century Communities responded:
Michael,
We appoligize for the conditions. Thank you for sharing. Below is the latest update.
This is still a work in progress. The area was cleaned up (dirt flattened out and wheat straw put down) but the grader still needs to final grade the area. We have to haul dirt to finish but waiting on 2 permits before we can do that. The gravel will be moved when we backfill the next basement. Land department in process of moving pipes.

Disappointed!!!

I feel for the price of the home the quality does not match its value. I closed with a bad paint job a rusted toilet and now the carpet is tearing around the edges in my family room. I have visited other builder where there were absolutely no Imperfections. I feel that if this home was sol on the north side of atlanta I would of gotten what I paid for. My two son are looking for home but will never recommend a century property. The personnel promise to fix then to get you to close but once every has closed it a difference experience.

Century Communities responded:
Mr. Bolden. We hope to restore some of the lost trust by rectifying the issues you've pointed out. We have a work order for the carpet concerns, and the carpet company -- from what we understand -- was able to reach you today. Regarding the paint and toilet, our team will be speaking with you soon.

Foundation is not good

Century Communities responded:
Dear Ngoc: our team is attempting to reach out to you to better understand the comment about the foundation, as our interactions and feedback from you -- up to this point -- have not indicated a concern with the concrete. There are allowable tolerances for concrete movement, and during our visit, we will determine whether it's normal settlement or something that requires additional attention.

My new house was put together by some people that had no regard for what a new home was suppose to look like and taken care of ! We are documenting all the discrepancies left behind by this company that now we have to wait a year that hopefully can be fixed. We feel that we made a mistake buying from century!!

I would never buy from century communities again. Lived in our house for 11 weeks and have taken off 20 business days to resolve issues and they still aren’t done. I’m currently working from home right now while they completely rebuild my shower. Buying process was terrible. The construction manager must have been sleeping on the job. Still have major issues in drywall to repair in later months.

Has been a mess and have had to reach out and continue to ask for resolution to any issues we find. Have had so many issues that we've simply stopped reporting them as it isn't worth the hassle.

Century Communities responded:
Shane, we understand that our management team did circle back. Looks like there were several areas we fell short, including our communication. We are having major problems - as well as our neighbors. Floor, HVAC, major settling, drywall issues, yard issues, etc. Overall very inferior workmanship. First response to a problem is always the cheap way out. Argument ensues. After several more proposed "solutions" they finally agree to do the right thing - which is never done with excellence. Paid for a new house. Got a house full of problems and headaches. 100% regret buying.

Century Communities responded:
Would have been helpful to get your name to gather constructive feedback. Stephanie Caldwell is the Customer Relations Manager there and has an amazing heart for people. We don't profess to build perfect -- because nothing is in life -- but when issues arise, Stephanie has a track record for acknowledging where the team/trades/product fell short and works towards resolution.

Quality of the workmanship is made even worse by the complete lack of follow up and care for the customer demonstrated by Century. Promises made over and over were not delivered upon and even the warranty leads admit to the poor contractor work quality being provided.
