It took us 20 months for the construction to happen. Finally moved in end of October, responsiveness from the builder is almost null. We have to chase for everything. There was never an instant where things happened without us asking multiple times. Still living in a house without cabinet hardware. Things were build non standard. Eg few door height are non standard because of which we are not able to find compatible doors. Overall experience of building the house is terrible, except our sales manger. Everything else is a joke…….

3 months after closing and still waiting on punch list items despite me sending punch lists throughout the entire process.

We bought the house over phone calls and e-mails. Reagan was amazing and so was Preston. The financing part was a disaster through the lending company. And when we got the house, there were some basic things that were not thought of well for a 2022 home like electric outlet outside the house, outlets for security system, conduit for internet intake to make the house fiber optic ready and so on. It was very disheartening, and almost made us regret the purchase, but we’ll it’s too late and we are trying to make the best out if it.

There really isn't much to say besides the times that we were building our house through. Production delays, weather delays, "you name it" delays. I believe there were some delays that could have been avoided, as well as some production items such as having to re-pick items because of said delays. Outside of that, we felt the builder and salesperson were both attentive and helpful.

We were initially VERY excited to purchase our Drees custom home. We visited in Oct 2020 and in a matter of hours had selected the largest lot with the best view against a greenbelt. That is where the excitement ended!! We were moving from California and had been told that there was a very strong possibility that we would be moving in around Nov 2021 (given the delays in materials-COVID) we were understanding of that, but as November '21 approached we could clearly see that we were not going to be moving in. The date was shifted to Jan 2022....then March...then May worst case June!!! All the while, we were visiting the house almost daily...we would find weeks where NO work was being done on our house and the excuse...lets see...take you pick...we were told - You guys have so many customizations - They knew what it was when we signed the agreement....and we were well beyond any customizations - There are still material delays - Not true at all...they were having problems with the trades doing shotty work...having to rip and replace tile, wood work, stairs, stain on and on - Wrong design center items placed on the design sheet...which is partially our fault, but we dont know the codes for selected items...but caught them during the build and had a weeks worth of back and forth to resolve it...because the design professional that helped us had been fired! - We had 4 project managers during the build which was extremely painful ...each one has a different attention to detail and how they provide updates as well as how they communicate with the trades - We watched 3 homes start after us and complete ahead of us...the excuse...we had so many customizations...NOT TRUE!! We even watched 2 homes in the private part of the community start months after us and complete ahead of us - a lesser issue but one that annoyed me to no end, was I would periodically come by the build and find prospective buyers walking through our house...thats plain annoying - One of the last things I will mention as I could go on, but the workmanship was totally lacking for a house that sits at 7 figures...wrong grout, poor staining that is disappearing within 2mo of use, Due to the consistent delays we wound up losing the opportunity to lock in a rate that was beneficial to us...we actually had to pay to lock in a rate that was 2.3% higher than if they had delivered when expected...even if they were 3 months late we would have been better off....I really feel like Drees didn’t approach this build with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction....just check the boxes and close on the house....with a plethora of punchlist items left to resolve over the course of this next year ... We started our journey with Drees in May of 2020, and finally moved in September 2022. 3 months after moving in, we are still without basic items (like a microwave), parts are missing, and items do not function properly. We wanted to move into a fully functioning, completed home but agreed to move in early before interest rates rose again and our rate lock expired. Big mistake! The builder is too busy building new houses to address our issues and the “warranty” rep only wants to tell us why he won’t take care of it. My recommendation to anyone considering Drees: buy a completed house and be prepared to customize it. You won’t get what you want from Drees in a customized home build. ... More

I was rushed through the design process. Was not given sound advice. Nothing else was done on time. There was turnover between the builders and then we as a family felt it was our job to continue the communication.

The home was overall ok but the value in terms of how much we spent and the sloppy work is poor. - Cracked Marble Backsplash - Damaged Cabinets - Unfinished Shoe Molding - Broken Shower Tile - Incorrect Stair Lighting Installed - Wrong Plumbing Installed And lots of other issues....still working to get them addressed.

Just brand name but it is not good anymore

My family and I chose Drees for several reasons, but most importantly because we assumed we would be getting a solid, quality product incomparable to other builders in the community. Unfortunately, we have encountered several issues throughout the construction process and even after closing. A lot of our issues were not rectified prior to closing despite making them known in a sufficient amount of time. The quality of worksmanship on several areas in the home are mediocre at best and it takes a lot of persistence on the homeowner’s part to make sure things are done correctly because the builders are not overseeing the homes as they should. Overall, I am not pleased with Drees as a builder and there is much improvement that needs to take place for the price point of these homes to be as high as they are. ... More

Roberto is an awesome guy. The Home is awesome and build quality is no exception.

House is wery good overall Little slow build. Small things burdened me. Some issues not cleared and waiting to be repaired and not done. Yet. Had hard time to understand the custom home building process and system. I don’t feel the customer is KING

This was my second home built by Drees, but the first on my own lot. When I purchased the lot, I knew right away that I wanted to work with Drees again. This was truly a custom home building experience and the entire Drees team went above and beyond to ensure that my home was built well and on time. With COVID/supply chain issues, the process at times was a bit slower than expected, but the Drees builder worked incredibly hard to keep things moving along. Every step along the way was flawless, from the initial sales experience, to the design center, to the builder and the crews that did the work. Very satisfied with the lot selection process, market manager’s guidance, design center’s assistance, field supervision and after-close support….particularly in light of on-going, industry-wide supply and labor shortages.

I would totally recommend buying a Drees home. Drees staff starting with the sales department, to the on site project manager were all very professional. Reagan & Preston responded to my emails with any concerns I had immediately. All issues were resolved promptly. Great crew to work with.

For the price, we expected better quality of material, workmanship. Requests to repair issues were not met with a timeliness response. We have yet to have issues repaired after having moved in and a few months passing.

Depends on the community it varies a lot. I love my home and loved working the sales rep, but working with construction manager was very difficult. My house is not 100% complete, since I still have contractors coming in and out to fix the house. Finish touch ups are not cleanly done even after I moved in 3 months ago.

Where do I start? Multiple structural issues were discovered by us (builder did no quality check to ensure the contracted structure is in place), windows and doors are not aligned (either tilted or one is an inch up & next window is lower). A ton of issues (including cracked granite countertops) are still not taken care of even after contacting customer support.

Daniel was our builder and he was so quick to respond to any need we had. Drees worked very hard to get us in our house ASAP, even with the constant delays. Knowing that Daniel, did extra steps to help us get into our new home sooner than expected was really appreciated. Being in the home, I can see how much Daniel worked his tail off to make it happen. I would build another Drees home with Daniel. Thank you!

Signed contract in March 2021, given a Feb. 2022 complete date. Did not close until May 2022. Attention to detail was lacking. Lots of punch list items. Subcontractors did not read prints. Custom modifications seemed to be problematic. A/C unit appears to be undersized.

The experience we had is probably no worse than other builders in this current environment of limited supplies and labor.

The items on the punch list were not addressed before closing, but circumstances dictated the we move to the house. Many of the items remain open over one month after closing/move in. Other items identified and no one from Drees will return calls or texts.

We were fortunate to work with a great Drees team that included a market manager, builder and design consultant. Delivery wasn’t as timely as we would’ve liked but it was understandable due to Covid and supply chain issues beyond the builder’s control.

The team from Drees has been very professional, empathetic and responsive to all of my requests since I moved in. I am satisfied with my purchase and feel more and more at home. I would recommend Drees, especially Laurel and Tony.
