Fast builder in the city

Building process was exceptional, our build team was very responsive providing updates with pictures on a weekly basis, this was extremely informative considering we were living over 3 hours away from the build site at the time.

I bought this home as a Spec home there are few things that I hope that Dress home did better job 1. Painting - Very low quality 2. Internet Ports - There is no Internet ports available in office area. 3. I have been listed this home for rent from 3 months so far not one renter , I am feeling the primary reason because of the way the address is showing wrong in several sites. a. It looks like initially whether it is Drees or Local Post used street 'Trahan Dr' for part of the 'Shrawley Ct' so now google show maps incorrectly and Zillow show it incorrect , Zillow is basically showing that this house is part of North of west field. Drees basically messed up the whole Trahan Dr the physically boards are not matching with the popular sites. 4. There is no way the price of the home justified for Rental income in any means. This is something to consider for your future ventures. At the end of the day people might not make money but everyone wants to balance money I just don't see this happening for this home. ... More

When ever we had questions on anything regarding house, Charlie and Susan were on top of the issues and were able to resolve them quickly and efficiently.

We are happy with our lot location, floor plan, neighbors and community. We are not so happy with Drees. These positives may have clouded our decision to go with Drees. Knowing what we know now we should have spent more time looking at other builders. * Construction Experience We did receive regular build updates from the construction supervisor but updates about how on-going construction problems would be dealt with were lacking. The builder needed to be more focused on the quality of the subcontractor’s work and willing to act on it. Drees quality is only as good as the quality of the subcontractors, and some were poor. * Quality of Workmanship We got to a point where we were afraid to add an item to the punch list because some subcontractors were so poor they made the problem worse. Some problems we identified should have been identified by the builder and corrected without our involvement. This creates concern about possible problems we cannot see. There are construction tasks that don’t seem to be a part of any subcontractor’s scope. Our job site was noticeably messier than other job sites. Drees should require subcontractors to clean up after themselves. * Design Selection Experience We felt rushed with the Drees Design Center experience. The software they used to help choose was buggy and not ready for production. Things like simple electrical upgrades were not listed in the “system”, so multiple existing items were cobbled together to make up the “upgrade”. This made the simple upgrade cost prohibitive and not good value. After moving in, the actual quality of some flooring was not what we expected from Drees * Home Readiness and Closing We delayed our closing three times. The additional delays cost us storage fees otherwise we would have delayed again. Also, it required rescheduling movers. We were told outstanding punch list items would be incorporated into the closing as a formal document/process. At closing no one knew what we were talking about when we asked. There was no one from Drees at the closing. Almost three months after closing we still have unresolved items. We would recommend to those building with Drees that you do not close until all unresolved items are complete. ... More

My wife and I selected Drees as we were able to do some customizations to the plan. The people throughout the entire process were very helpful and responsive. The only thing that could have been improved was that they were building several homes at the same time and while they did a fantastic job addressing small build/follow up concerns at the end of the process (resolved them all), many could have been addressed during the build effort itself. I would recommend Drees to others. We love our new home.

We’ve been in our house for a few months and are enjoying it immensely! They allowed us to customize our house to make it truly our home. There have been a few issues along the way but the Drees team has been very responsive in working towards solutions. I would build with Drees again.

I chose Dress Home because I believed they offered better products and designs than the competition, but my experience from start to finish was quite disappointing. 1. We were not given the option to choose our kitchen appliances due to paperwork issues, and we later found out that they were selected without our consent. Closing was a major mess, delayed by more than a month. I was informed to have the funds ready, so the money sat in my account for a month. I was pressured to close on time, only to discover the delay was because the home wasn't 100% ready. The only person who deserves recognition is Connor, who helped us address some issues. Overall, I would not recommend Dress Home to anyone. The designs are mediocre at best. I have a 90-day review coming up and already have issues to be addressed, such as missing sockets and a cracked window. Let's see how that goes. ... More

We love our home. Anytime we have had an issue Brock or customer service has been on it very quickly. We would for sure recommend Drees and would buy Drees again!

We love our Drees home. This is our first experience building a house as we as have bought used in the past. We wanted a certain style and top quality construction and they delivered. Their attention to detail and energy efficiency is amazing. Every step of the process the teams were amazing.

When my wife and I were deciding to buy, we never imagined we would end up buying a new build, until we walked into our first Drees home. The details, quality of work, and overall communication with our building supervisor, Jake Olvey, was incredible. We are so glad we got to buy from Drees and look forward to having our forever home!

All in all, the building process was great. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with the builder and review building process unhindered which was great. The quality of the materials used was good and reputable Brands. The one thing I was disappointed in was the Quality of Craftmanship during the building process. A lot of mistakes and do overs that could have been avoided if there was a full-time superintendent during building process to review drawings and related structure to be sure work crew understood (in Spanish) the trade activities for the day. This would have prevented poor workmanship and mistakes in structure. Then as home progress into the finishing stages the placement of protective care over permeant fixtures, moldings, flooring, doors, cabinets, hardware to prevent damage and replacement of these items upon completion of home prior to final walk-through inspection. There were several times during the building process had I not been able to come on a day to day bases certain items would have been completed and then either modified (if possible) or tore up to be corrected; due to lack of communication and understanding of appropriate tasked trade. There were some trades that were very good at their skill; but these were few. Would I build again with Drees----YES; they provide a quality appealing home astatically outside as well as inside. Drees exterior options and interior options provide the breadth and depth and flexibility of injecting custom items and changes outside and inside that personalize the home to us. thanks ... More

We’ve worked with Lisa, buying our previous Drees Home & she’s phenomenal! Our building contractor that we started with, Andy, was great too! We’ve had some new construction issues with this house & that hasn’t been pleasant.

Several plumbing errors as the plans were not followed and had to be revisited.

The home is beautiful and more than we expected. The model we chose has a lot of thoughtful design features that are important into today's homes, i.e., ample storage space, functional kitchen design, large windows throughout, and attention to detail. We couldn't be more pleased.

The Project Manager was great to work with. Kept us informed regularly about the progress on our home and what to expect along the way. He was easy to communicate with and promptly addressed any concerns along the way.

Nothing but smoking mirrors and lies

The experience with Drees was outstanding. The experience began with a knowledgeable and thorough salesperson to a detailed and organized project manager. They made the building process very smooth. They dealt with any of our concerns promptly and there were very few. Communication was fluid and always welcomed. The end product was very high quality and we could not be more satisfied.

Our salesperson Lisa was less than helpful or professional. Our home had construction errors. We're still waiting for items to be fixed which is disappointing. We wanted to love this process but it has been emotionally draining at this point.

It’s a very expensive duplex. I know home prices have increased but I literally paid the same price in 2016 for a freestanding home in Zionsville. I have enormous cracks in the ceiling and the mason completely messed up the FP.

Customer service was very high and they were quick to address/resolve issues or concerns. Some subs did not meet our workmanship quality expectations but probably same across the board with any home builder. In general though good quality materials and workmanship. Felt we paid a premium price and there was no negotiation. Granted materials had gone up a lot during pandemic but lumber dropped a lot early 2023 from all time highs and our timing was such that we felt some room should have been available. We feel it will be some time before we build any equity but that may be true of any new build these days. The value was probably fair for both parties. ... More

I was fortunate to working with a team of people who came together to get me into my home on my timeline. I have my 60 walk tomorrow. I only have a few items to be addressed.
