We received an absolutely filthy house that took me hours to clean when I should’ve been able to unload and unpack boxes. We’ve had issues come up since closing Which have not been handled in a timely manner at all. It was such a great Experience up until the closing and now I feel like Drees has completely dropped the ball.

Great experience from start to finish! I was looking to downsize and new build in a nice area, with very little time to finalize. Kelly and Andy made the whole process simple, stress-free and fun!

My experience is mostly positive: sales representative is very knowledgeable and accommodating, design center experience was good also. My disappointment is in the quality of workmanship and materials on a few items. Interior doors are especially poor quality and almost all in need of touch up/ repair from rough defects from manufacturing. Poor workmanship of caulking around windows and exterior lights.

Overall satisfied with the buying experience, except that Drees should have been considerate with some changes during the construction phase. Was charged 1k for every change. We also got charged extra for the head walls instead of being included in the base price. The homeowners are also expecting tye builder and HOA to add more street lights and provide walkways in the neighborhood.

We have already submitted a very detailed review to Drees Homes. In a nutshell, we love the construction, the process, the communication from Nick; the house is solidly built and there are hardly any issues (cosmetic issues will pop up but no construction issues). Beverly did well at the design center. For most part, Kristi in sales did well as well. Tammy and John in customer-care are on top of all of our needs. Financing process was smooth; the execution was horrible. Few areas where things should improve: 1. We had requested for dual-zone dual-HVAC system. We were told flat-out that Drees does not offer that option. We were sold a dual-zone single-HVAC solution. Nearing the end of construction, we saw the house across the street was installed with dual-zone dual-HVAC system. We were blatantly misled and sold what sales wanted to sell. 2. In addition to the Design Center options, let us know we can purchase items from outside vendors (Menards, Home Depot, Floor/Tile shops, etc.) and give us allowances so we can truly make this our home with items that were more relatable to us. 3. Steve at 1st Equity did well during the process. Unfortunately, FEM did not manage its partner Huntington Bank well and we had one of the worst experiences EVER on closing day. Choose better, more reliable partners. 4. Lay out the process of the closing day as it is an important day for Drees and buyers. Building process was exceptional, our build team was very responsive providing updates with pictures on a weekly basis, this was extremely informative considering we were living over 3 hours away from the build site at the time.

I bought this home as a Spec home there are few things that I hope that Dress home did better job 1. Painting - Very low quality 2. Internet Ports - There is no Internet ports available in office area. 3. I have been listed this home for rent from 3 months so far not one renter , I am feeling the primary reason because of the way the address is showing wrong in several sites. a. It looks like initially whether it is Drees or Local Post used street 'Trahan Dr' for part of the 'Shrawley Ct' so now google show maps incorrectly and Zillow show it incorrect , Zillow is basically showing that this house is part of North of west field. Drees basically messed up the whole Trahan Dr the physically boards are not matching with the popular sites. 4. There is no way the price of the home justified for Rental income in any means. This is something to consider for your future ventures. At the end of the day people might not make money but everyone wants to balance money I just don't see this happening for this home. ... More

We were looking into number of homes for almost a year. Dress homes checks all of our requirements perfectly in terms of craftsmanship and design. We are so pleased with how smooth the closing process was. They helped us to fulfill our dream to buy just the right house.

Would never buy another home with Drees.

Building with Drees was a pleasant experiences, from the financial aspect to construction. We looked at multiple builders, and Drees seemed to be the best choice got quality and customer service. Also, the team has been responsive to maintenance requests. I highly recommend to other buyers.

Fantastic builder with a focus in customer centricity

Overall we are pleased with our new build by Drees. The process to purchase and responsiveness have been helpful especially as first time homeowners!

Management was responsive once they understood my dissatisfaction with first issue.

The warranty page is mostly exclusions and legalese , and it basically left to their discretion as to how to interpret the validity of your complaint. They have standard reasons why a defect/quality/workmanship is not covered , even if you know that was not the reason. They will quickly cover the small stuff..faucets , trim,lights, paint etc. But Structural cracks, leaks ,foundation etc..are bit more of a heartburn.They will cover leaks for a year, by getting the crack filled from inside ( 1/2 hr job ) and the repair contractor supposedly covers those specific repair locations for 10 years. But after 4 or 5 basement leaks in 2 months , your confidence in the value of investing in a new home is not exactly soaring. If you thought a new home is relatively trouble free , think again. ... We are second time home builders with Drees. We highly recommend Drees for anyone looking to build their dream home. From first introduction, exploring options, picking the perfect location to build, selecting a home to build that met our needs, selecting options and throughout the entire building process..,,we cannot say enough about all of the staff!! Everyone was very knowledgeable, thorough and hands on helpful to make this a stress free experience. We only chose to leave our first build Drees home to downsize, We’ll quality build!!!

We were going to proceed with the other developer in our subdivision but they withheld information just prior to signing a commitment and paying deposits that left us thinking they were not completely trustworthy. Drees stepped in with an equivalent house that was $70K less expensive and on a better lot. Overall Drees chose to use better materials than the other builder,, for example our gutters drain in to enclosed pipes underground rather than just onto a plate on top if the grass. Drees also include a lot of low voltage items at no cost which were a cost for us with the other builder. Drees were excellent to deal with and highly responsive. A couple of small warranty issues were dealt with very quickly and we are fully happy with the support we have received. When we build another house on land in a couple of years we will ask Drees Homes to quote but we wont ask David Weekley Homes! ... More

Very nice people to work with and easy to work with

From the first inquiry to the closing, Drees was very quick to respond with pertinent, accurate information. Our home was built according to the options we chose, and the Drees staff was extremely helpful. While we did have the option of using several different builders to complete our dream home, we really feel that we made the right decision by choosing Drees.

For the most part, it was a great experience.

I was very pleased with the buying process and getting to the final move in date. It was my first time building so a whole different situation for me. They mapped out everything that was happening. The website they have for you to look at all your progress and document was very helpful and good reference. Was able to move in a little earlier than first expected. My specific builder was great and so helpful.

When ever we had questions on anything regarding house, Charlie and Susan were on top of the issues and were able to resolve them quickly and efficiently.

We are happy with our lot location, floor plan, neighbors and community. We are not so happy with Drees. These positives may have clouded our decision to go with Drees. Knowing what we know now we should have spent more time looking at other builders. * Construction Experience We did receive regular build updates from the construction supervisor but updates about how on-going construction problems would be dealt with were lacking. The builder needed to be more focused on the quality of the subcontractor’s work and willing to act on it. Drees quality is only as good as the quality of the subcontractors, and some were poor. * Quality of Workmanship We got to a point where we were afraid to add an item to the punch list because some subcontractors were so poor they made the problem worse. Some problems we identified should have been identified by the builder and corrected without our involvement. This creates concern about possible problems we cannot see. There are construction tasks that don’t seem to be a part of any subcontractor’s scope. Our job site was noticeably messier than other job sites. Drees should require subcontractors to clean up after themselves. * Design Selection Experience We felt rushed with the Drees Design Center experience. The software they used to help choose was buggy and not ready for production. Things like simple electrical upgrades were not listed in the “system”, so multiple existing items were cobbled together to make up the “upgrade”. This made the simple upgrade cost prohibitive and not good value. After moving in, the actual quality of some flooring was not what we expected from Drees * Home Readiness and Closing We delayed our closing three times. The additional delays cost us storage fees otherwise we would have delayed again. Also, it required rescheduling movers. We were told outstanding punch list items would be incorporated into the closing as a formal document/process. At closing no one knew what we were talking about when we asked. There was no one from Drees at the closing. Almost three months after closing we still have unresolved items. We would recommend to those building with Drees that you do not close until all unresolved items are complete. ... More

They work very fast and friendly professional job

Overall the experience has been Great. Saul and Joanne did an amazing job upfront during the purchase and moving in. The care team of Anita and Tierra have been responsive to all my needs. While the service has been great Saul has gone above and beyond in making sure things go well and even tho Joanne was in sales she continued to support after. Highly pleased.
