This was an overall very stres free experience. Our Project Manager was very communicative throughout the entire experience and in tune with all our needs.

The whole experience of building our home with Highland Homes has been great. We were able to build a great floor plan that works well for us, on our preferred lot, and add some personal touches to the home. It's well built, well insulated, and we've had no issues. And even after the sale, Highland has been quick to respond to issues.

The home-buying experience itself was great, but the final product has been a major disappointment. Since moving in nearly two months ago, I have uncovered a severe lack of quality control and attention to detail. The construction is incredibly sloppy; the paintwork is messy, and several doors were left unsanded and unfinished. To make matters worse, I found several discarded beer cans on my property and throughout the community while walking. This lack of professionalism on the job site strongly explains the sloppy craftsmanship; it gives the distinct impression that crews were drinking on the job. I chose Highland Homes specifically because of their reputation for high quality, but my experience has been the exact opposite. Even now, two months after closing, I am still fighting to get basic warranty repairs completed. If you build with them, be prepared to closely monitor the construction process and the final trim details. ... More

The quality of construction and the home itself has been great, and we have no complaints there. Our issue has been with post-closing support — our assigned warranty/customer care manager has been consistently unresponsive despite multiple work orders submitted, and commitments made verbally haven't followed through into action. Speaking with neighbors, this seems specific to our assigned manager rather than Highland Homes overall, but it's a real gap given how much the post-closing experience matters. A simple fix would be more accountability and follow-up tracking on work orders, so homeowners aren't left chasing responses after closing. So far, we've been nothing short of impressed with our Highland home!

From the moment we walked into the model home until well after closing, our experience with Highland Homes was exceptional. Building a home can be stressful, but the Highland team made the entire process smooth, transparent, and enjoyable. Debbie and Lindsay were outstanding from day one. They were always available to answer our questions, and when they didn't have an immediate answer, they quickly tracked it down and followed up. Throughout the build, they kept us informed with regular updates and even shared progress photos, which made us feel connected to the process every step of the way. Their professionalism, communication, and genuine care made a lasting impression. Our builder, Clayton, truly exceeded our expectations. It was obvious he approached our home as if he were building it for his own family. He paid attention to the little details that most people would never notice, and those small touches made a big difference in the finished product. Even after closing, Clayton remained incredibly responsive, quickly coordinating and following through on the few items that needed attention. His pride in his work and commitment to customer satisfaction were evident from start to finish. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our decision to build with Highland Homes. For the most part I've been satisfied with the home build until I saw pictures of the brick and numerous flaws after install. It is absolute crap! There is no way the brick should have passed inspection. Go next door and look at the craftsmanship applied to the same floor plan. Look at my house and it looks like a first time brick layer was assigned to it without any direction or experience. I hate this house! A Custom Care Request was opened. I am confident that a patch job will be done on all the mistakes laying brink and mortar. Years from now it will crumble and I will have to fix it. Another thing that irritates me is seeing a picture of what the brick would look like on a "Highland-Huntington Homes-CBC (dragged).pdf" during the initial sale consulting exterior selection. I liked what I saw in the picture provided. After the brick was installed it looks like a completely different brick choice. Again, I hate it!!! There were other issues requesting a fix that just adds to the poor quality work that should have never happened in the first place. I give Highland Homes a grade of F. ... More

We bought a home at Heritage Ranch and Duwayne and Ryder were amazing to work with. Very responsive, listened to our concerns and were always looking for solutions to any issues we brought up. My wife and I looked at numerous new developments in Sherman, TX and one of the biggest reasons we chose Heritage Ranch was because Duwayne was incredibly helpful and nice when we first met. We are very happy with how the entire process played out.

From sales to construction to design, everyone was knowledgeable and kind. For our very first home, going with Highland seemed like a pipe dream, but we found a plan within our budget. Now, we have our forever home.

The quality of the work was sloppy. We are still having crews come out to fix numerous issues, especially with our HVAC system. We have had Houk HVAC come out six or seven times, and unfortunately, the service and quality of their work have been very disappointing.

Eric and Tim made everything easy! Eric was awesome to deal with and communication was great. I appreciate all the extra time and thoughtfulness he put into the project. I would definitely recommend Highlands to anybody.

This is our second Highland and so far we have been just as happy with the experience so far. Any issues have been addressed and continue to be addressed. The overall buying experience was good and were able to move in on the date we needed.

Experience was okay. I do not recommend using the Highland lender and you need to triple check all work done by their trades.

What separates them from the rest of builders is the ease of doing business with them and reliability. At no point in the process we felt that builder wasn't ready to listen or address our concerns, went above and beyond with everything.

Overall, my homebuying experience with Highland Homes has been very good. The buying process went smoothly, and I've been especially pleased with how responsive the Highland team has been whenever I've submitted an issue or work request. My main concern has been the attention to detail in the workmanship and final finishing. There have been quite a few small items that should have been caught before closing, including missed paint spots, drawers that do not operate properly, HVAC ducts that were not properly installed, and a thermostat that appears to be poorly located and does not read the temperature accurately, along with several other minor issues. I love the house and am very happy with the home overall, but it has been difficult to fully enjoy a brand-new home when I'm constantly finding small items that require another service request. None of the issues individually are major, but collectively they take away from the experience. Highland has been great about responding and addressing concerns, and I appreciate that. I just wish more attention had been given to the final quality-control inspection so these issues could have been identified and corrected before move-in. ... More
