Highland Homes was a pleasure to work with. They kept us informed throughout the build process, and for any issues that were brought up, they resolved it quickly.

Cathy is amazing and so easy to work with! She really rallied for use during the home buying experience! Our builder Andrew was amazing as well! Took care of any questions or concerns we had in a prompt fashion. Would 100% recommend Highland Homes!

I bought a home during the thick of COVID-19. There were a lot of delays and a lot of what we originally wanted was not available. Ultimately, we got the home and everything worked out in the end. The build quality was a little lacking. The materials were not kept too well and the doors have noticeable damage and patches on them if you are looking closely at it. So far we had to have warranty repair a few things too. It’s not perfect, but we are grateful to have this home and that Covid didn’t stop us from being able to get it.

I love my new home. It’s everything I dreamed of and more. Highland has impeccable craftsmanship and service. I’m so glad I chose Highland homes.

From the minute we met the Highland team at Woodlands Hills we were immediately impressed with their professionalism, friendliness and the quality of their homes. As a result of this initial meeting we made a decision to buy a Highland Home and I would 100% recommend Highland as a trusted builder.

The question on this survey is what stood out? Clearly “G.N.” our Construction Manager undoubtedly stood out. His pro-active communication from the pre-build meetings and even today, 80 days after closing he follows up to ensure all is going well. During the build process there were several occasions where we said to ourselves, we need to call and ask about that. Before we would even call or text it was not uncommon from him to proactively reach out and tell us about the same issues and what was being done to correct them. As we came closer to closing and minor issues came up he was willing to talk through and address even the smallest imperfection to ensure we received a beautiful home. He clearly took pride and was not building a house he was building our home and we are very appreciate of the pride, thoroughness and workmanship. Our Realtor T.K. was awesome as well and made regular check-ins to ensure we were making progress every step of the way. You can tell she spoke with the construction managers because they are on the same page and moving the build forward. As far as the home, we are very satisfied and while it is little more expensive than some homebuilders in the area we are very pleased with the technology, workmanship and standard amenities in the home. ... Great home. Great price. Really happy.

We looked at a lot of different builders, but there was something special about Highland Homes! We visited many neighborhoods in the Houston area, and the one thing that stood out was the quality of Highland Homes changed. Solid foundation, quality of material, and a of different plans to choose from! We are very pleased with Highland Homes and would definitely recommend them as your future home!

Lots of issues with home, every time contractor comes to fix one problem another one occurs. Last time I’ll buy a highland home

From the first time we stooped to look at the model through the finalizing of our mortgage approval, Highland Homes was extremely easy to work with and highly responsive to our needs. Towards the end of the process, we needed to move our closing date up and they bent over backward to make it happen for us. We've been in our home for almost 3 months and so far it is fantastic. No major issues. The few minor things that have come up the builder has been highly responsive to and worked quickly to make it right.

Great experience through the whole process

The Highland sales representative was knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. I believe my project manager made his best effort to handle the many issues that I'm sure are common to a new build but there's a good possibility he was juggling too many things at one time. He probably needs an assistant to keep him on track. He hasn't been great at responding to texts and/or phone calls. I believe he's sincere in his desire to do a good job but I still have some minor things that need addressing. I would recommend Highland Homes but definitely with a word of caution - don't allow issues to slide and hope things will eventually work out in the long run. ... More

It was a great experience from the Beginning to the end

Excellent and modern structure very satisfied

After signing a contract with another builder and getting three weeks out from closing, the poor workmanship and constant installation of wrong materials caused us to cancel that contract and begin the search again. That’s when we met Teri at Highland Homes. Her courteous and knowledgeable demeanor, along with the pride in the quality of Highland Homes instantly sold us. So then the building process began. Greg, our construction foreman, was absolutely top notch! He went above and beyond to respond to any questions we had along the way and resolve any concerns we had throughout the process, and to this day checks in on us to make sure all is well. I have built 4 homes in my time, but will never again consider another builder. Highland is absolutely top notch and I am thrilled to recommend them to anyone!!! ... More

I feel like the build was rushed in order to meet the closing date. This allowed for things to be missed and unfinished. I love the Floorplan and the house in general.

Overall I am happy with my Highland Home. However, the whole process of building the home was disappointing and unorganized. There were several things in the house that were installed wrong and took a lot of effort and time to get fixed. I realized this was an imperfect process but the amount of issues that arose throughout the build (which usually were caught by my dad who is an architect and not the contractor) made me feel like I was getting taken advantage of. As this is my first home, I was extremely excited to get my keys and officially be a homeowner! However, when I moved into my home, someone had locked my thermostat at 80 which was not fun moving in the middle of July in Texas. Since my contractor was out of the office, my thermostat remained locked for days. Again, I was left feeling under valued. I will say, Tracy, from the sales office completely made my experience. She made my first home buying experience special and made me feel valued for my business. She was actually the one who came to the rescue when my thermostat was locked. She went above and beyond and was taking on roles that were not hers...she is fantastic! ... More

Builder was easy to work with and you were allowed to make changes (to add or delete) to the existing floor plan within reason.

Great quality build

The workmanship is absolutely terrible. The subcontractors that actually build this houses don't care about what they are doing. There is trash everywhere. Beer bottles galore. One trade builds something and the next trade breaks or damages it. It's your average built house. They could do better.

We were nervous about the process of building a house having always bought prebuilt homes before. Highland Homes was easy to work with and made it a good experience. I've also noticed that they are more responsive to issues that arise than other builders in my neighborhood comparing experiences in my neighborhood's online community group. So bravo Highland and I recommend them highly!

During my walk through, I had addressed a few issues as well as poor paint job. The subcontractors removed the tape and did not address most of the issues. Now due to COVID I can’t get the subcontractors to come back and address the issues that should’ve been taken care of before closing.

Highland seems to be resting on a reputation they should no longer have. They were perfectly nice & accommodating when it came to selecting our house and the optional finishes that would drive the price of the home up. When it came to the execution of actually building the home, that is where they did not hold up their end of the deal. Countless issues of just poor and sloppy work occurred leading up to the close of the house. When a home inspector challenged their work, they proceeded to discredit the inspector, rather than fix issues. The only time I saw them work hard on our house was to get us to close on the agreed upon date when the house was clearly in no shape to be moved into. During our final walkthrough, there was still no grass, no A/C, and a 20+ foot hole in the front yard due to some plumbing issues when we were told it would be move in ready. Between the mistruths of the status of the house, their reactions to fix their issues, the lack of quality and attentiveness of the vendors they use, and the fact that at the time of this review, there are items that are still not fixed that contractually they are supposed to have been done over two months ago, I would think long and hard about selecting Highland Homes to build your house. ... I’ve been dealing with Loud clacking noises over the stove top since I’ve been here. My front porch has large gaps between the bricks I can trip and fall or my visitors. I have asked to this to be fixed. Very disappointed in the quality of the home.
