Five star experience from start to finish and even after finish. I don't have one negative thing to say. Fantastic quality and customer service.

Highland Homes team did a phenomenal job from start to finish! Highland’s construction manager did a great job keeping the home construction on schedule and weekly progress reports kept us informed throughout construction.

Having built a home in the past and later moving to another custom home, we did not see ourselves as ever purchasing a home from a large builder like Highland. But due to a time restraint, we ended up doing just that. Highland is one of the few builders not using stucco and they are responsive, professional and caring.

I signed the home purchase contract on February 11, 2024 and closed on October 10, 2024. I hired an inspector before my final walkthrough. Unfortunately, the gas pipe to the heater was not even connected for testing on October 1. Having great respect for Highland Homes as a Trusted builder, we took their promise that the heater would working and it shouldn’t be a concern. We are very disappointed when I had to suffer 2 days without the working heater for my new home when the temperatures plunged to 19 degrees outside. The house inside temperature dropped to 49 degrees in the morning and finally reached 51 for the high on January 6 and January 7, 2025, which caused us great pain and suffering as I was concerned for my 87 year old mother, who I care for ,living in such a cold conditions. ... I have used Highland Homes on three different occasions with the previous home being built 30 years ago. All three previous experiences were very positive so selecting them last year for my 4th home was a no brainer. I didn't even show around. I realize building standards are not the same as it was 30 and 40 years ago, but this most recent experience took my off guard. Covid really took its tole on the building industry back in 2020 with equipment and materials being in very short supply and the workforce down to skeleton crews in many instances. Four years later the industry has definitely recovered, but with some disappointing changes. The first eye opening experience was during my selection process. The standard options were selections that were sub-par and in many cases, outdated. Upgrading to a more dated selection cost dearly, even for a slightly higher material. Due to the high prices, many times I kept with the standard selection and scarified what I really wanted. After a short time I felt like I was in the middle of a bait and switch scheme. It became almost laughable. By the time I completed the selection process I was very disappointed and frustrated. The next eye opening change came with the cabinets. If there was a corner to cut - literally - it was taken. The width and depth are much much less than in any previous home. Case in point, there are drawers in the master bath that are 2-1/2" wide by 3" deep - just enough room for a tube of toothpaste if you place it on it's side but not enough room to include your toothbrush. If a dollar could be saved, they were sure to take that route. There were additional upgrades I had not considered until that particular phase of construction was in progress. For example, the plumber was installing the plumbing fixtures when I realized the standard size garbage disposal was a 1/3hp unit. I am accustomed to a 3/4hp so I asked what my cost would be to install a larger size. Their markup was 300% above a reasonable price! Requesting any upgraded material or equipment during construction was at least a 300% increase! This was extremely frustrating. Eventually I purchased upgraded materials and equipment on my own and hired a contractor after closing to install for significantly less than if I had let Highland do the work. Personally I believe this is wrong on so many different levels and is unacceptable. And finally, I believe there were a few subcontractors that were not at the level I had expected from Highland. There were times I felt they selected a different subcontractor just to keep the project moving because their usual sub was not available. This is merely my opinion and may not be the case at all, but it sure felt that way with a few "high profile" subcontractors. My field superintendent was a great guy! He did everything he could to satisfy my requests. If I was disappointed with the installation quality, he would have them re-do it. Emmanuel is amazing and very responsive. It’s clear he’s proud to be a part of Highland and is very conscientious of his clients’ satisfaction with their homes. Highland is lucky to have to him as a representative of their company!

After dealing with a horrible builder (Centre living homes) Highland homes was a breathe of fresh air. I highly recommend them customer service was incredible.

I love the quality of my home. Buying process was easy, professional and cordial. I was carried along through out the building and buying process. I love the after sales service which I need as a first time Home buyer. Will do investment property with High Homes.

We have moved into our beautiful home and love it very much We have had some issues here and there but that’s to be expected in any new home but they come immediately to resolve or fix any issues right away this has been amazing on their part. The accommodations for making my home for my needs has also been amazing and greatly aapreciated

I had to stay on them bringing build and do some stuff myself. Like making sure everything was sealed inside and out.weather siding people kept missing the stud pulse would holes in weather siding that weren’t sealed.Dont thing I have a straight wall in whole house.

Working with Troy(our salesman) and Charles(our builder) was the easiest real estate transaction my wife and I have experienced. Troy quarterbacked the process and kept it all moving, while Charles was an expert in completing our "punch-outs" and teaching us how to utilize all of our new technology that Highland integrated into our new home.

As a Vetran I feel I was robbed of my Earnest Money for chosen another Highland home in the same Neighborhood.I lost 12,500 which as a Vetran it does not come by easy.If Highland Homes treat Vetrans this bad everytime they will not get too many stars.

From our first sales meeting , through the remote building process to closing and after moving in, the service and thoughtfulness from the entire Highland team was amazing. I would like to highlight our build manager Yale as the person who truly made this project a seamless experience. Yale went above and beyond to ensure a high quality of workmanship to meet my expectations and get specific design items accomplished that I had trouble with at the 3rd party design center Highland uses. 5 Star review in summary. We had been looking at this builder and floorplan for about two when we were finally ready to move forward. Our sales counselor, Thea, was absolutely amazing to work with - she was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She set and managed our expectations by communicating frequently and thoroughly throughout the process. Our construction manager, Clayton, was spectacular to work with. His attention to detail and communication style allowed me to feel at ease with the entire process. He was available to answer questions, offer suggestions, and ensure everything went smoothly. Late in the process, Clayton was reassigned to a different neighborhood, and our new construction manager was Chuck. My wife and I were very nervous about the change, but Thea and Chuck ensured it was seamless. Chuck's passion for homebuilding was very evident. He was able to finish our build and met all of our expectations. Our house has had some very minor issues (as I am sure most new builds do), but Chuck has responded quickly and resolved them to our complete satisfaction! ... More

I paid the full price for the home, including all items that were supposed to be included in the price. However, many things were not installed, such as fans and lights. The fence planning was completely mishandled, and the retaining wall was either not built or left incomplete. Additionally, I found several issues with the AC, drainage, tiles, doors, and more. I'm very dissatisfied with the price, especially since it's over $100k higher than homes in other communities built by the same builder within Dallas city. Everything went incredibly smooth with Highland Homes. Our construction manager Zach was very cooperative, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. They even added hardware to the hutch cabinets at no extra cost. We’re truly happy with our purchase and highly recommend them!

From inception to close. Communication, customer service, education, friendliness, professionalism.

Working with the Highland office girls and the construction supervisor has been overall positive. I have been in the home since mid November, and continue to find things that the actual construction workers missed doing or did poorly. I guess it's hard to find good carpentry these days. The Highland homes have good curb appeal, that's what caught my eye.

We bought a new construction build as first-time home buyers. The process was very straightforward - everything from the mortgage to closing went smoothly. Also had check-in with the builder 30 days after closing and were able to go over questions and have some minor issues fixed. The few small issues we have noticed were very promptly fixed and covered under warranty.

Clinton, my builder, is great! He responds quickly to every message and fixes the issues just as fast! He has been very easy to work with. My experience with Highland Homes has been very good.

From the first day I met the sales manager Anita to buy a house I felt comfortable and after I decided to buy and followed up with her and the construction manager Jack I was very happy to deal with them for their honesty and implementation of everything we agreed on from the beginning of building the house until the end, and everything was perfect whether in terms of quality or dates as the delivery was on time. Now after moving into the house on the first of November and until now Mr. Jack has been very interested in providing us with assistance and meeting all our requests. Highlands Homes did an amazing job on not only the craftsmanship and house quality, but also the services and responsiveness for any questions/concerns my wife and I had. They were resolved in a snap of a finger. I would highly recommend Highland Homes if you're considering buying a quality home on your next purchase.

Everything was great but Highland could use better trades. There are too many redos that cost Highland or the buyers money. They can get real lazy and it shows. If Highland doesn't demand perfection from its trades, it may start to have a negative reflection towards Highland due to the cost of the home vs some of the lack in workmanship by its team of trades.

This was our second Highland Home build in 5 years. We went from a 2 story to a 1 story closer to our grandkids and we love it! Our Building Supervisor Jared was once again wonderful in making our home exactly what we wanted to be. He and our sales associate Alyesha were 2 of the biggest reasons we built again. Love our home and we are just to grateful for their help and attention to detail!
