The purchasing experience was easy. Wish there was a way to see upgrade options and costs when purchasing. Wish HOA rules were available before you decide to purchase aa they are very restrictive. Mostly my disappointment came from the condition of the home when we moved in. If you buy - Don’t expect a decent construction clean. I have never worked so hard to clean a brand new house. It is obvious that contractors and cleaning crew lack any attention to detail. Almost seems like they don’t care about their own quality. Contractors leave trash and empty water bottles etc on your property when they are near by or are on your property to repair. Total lack of respect. Love the house. We bought our home because of Highland Homes reputation as a quality builder. We did it by proxy after viewing information and floor plans and photos online.

Tom and I cannot say enough about how great Highland Homes are. Zack made the process seamless and Lyndsey our Loan Officer from Highland was amazing. We would recommend a highland home to anyone. Our overall all experience is beyond great. Highland Homes as a company and staffs are the best in town. They really go above and beyond on any issue that might arise during any phase of construction or inspection. Their commitment and professionalism are truly unmatched. From the start of our home purchasing experience we were greeted by Walter, an extremely friendly and professional sales staff who was very knowledgeable and so helpful in the process and seemed to always be looking for ways to improve our experience. During the construction our manager, Dakota, was always positive and so helpful in making our home exactly as we desired. We have mixed feelings about our experience with Highland Homes. While we love our new home, it does have its flaws. The Short Version The overall purchase process was alright; everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. However, several issues arose during construction that have left us somewhat disappointed. The Long Version Initially, everything was going well. The team was professional and helpful. Unfortunately, a construction fire early in the process caused a significant delay. Thankfully, no one was hurt. As construction progressed, we began noticing several concerning issues: -Mysterious stains on the plywood -Windows left open after drywall installation, allowing water inside -A leak in the area where fire repairs were made, due to missing shingles To their credit, Highland Homes addressed the major structural issues, and the house is structurally well-built. We had the option to back out, but after consulting with several lawyers, we decided to proceed. Our main disappointment lies in the sloppy delivery: -Mortar chunks left on the porch and patio -Miscolored concrete and sloppy patch repairs -Poor construction cleanup before closing, including paint splatters on the tile and cabinetry -Smeared silicone caulk on tiles, making them difficult to clean -Questionable smears on the walls/ ceiling We expected a higher level of quality from Highland Homes, especially since this isn't our first build and we knew what to look out for. For the most part, I had a great experience with Highland. Our construction manager Trystan was always responsive, and it made for an easy home building journey.

Highland homes are nice homes. I closed on my home three weeks before I moved in. I went over the "punch" list and left a key for the workers to complete it before I moved in. A lot of the things were not completed and I am still waiting for it to be done over 6 weeks later. The cleaning of the home was sub-par. Attention to detail was horrible. You would think for the price you pay, it would have been better. I love my home but expected better customer service.

Well there were many excuses. Change of builders, weather, rushing/more time, etc. They literally built my garage in the wrong spot and then messed up the island. Luckily we caught the island in time to fix it. But I now have a garage that is not functioning the way I needed it to be. The tile for backsplash was awful. There are holes and missing paint throughout the house. Fixtures were the wrong color. The quality assurance didn’t happen. Literally no one walked the house and tried to fix anything before we showed up they just built it and let us move in. We had a leak in the bathroom the first week. Not sure if they thought they could do a crap job because we weren’t in town to watch their every move but they are having to pay for it now. And it’s super frustrating to be living in construction, when it was supposed to be completed. Thea was knowledgeable and responsive and if she didn’t know she tried to find out asap. ... More

Love my new townhome. Quality is first rate, closed when promised, sales staff was extremely helpful through the process, quite happy. Would not hesitate to buy another Highland Home.

Builder Drake was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. Only complaint was lack of disclosure that knobs and handles a charge control. Certainly would have executed that if told of this issue

Highland Homes was a builder I had been watching and researching for a few years. I had other top builders in mind but a Highland purchase was at the top of my list. While there are hiccups, my issues are promptly addressed. So far not one regret or negative two months in from closing. My home is beautiful and I am so grateful that God gave me the chance to work with builder. My new build is absolutely gorgeous.

All the personnel I dealt with were very helpful and very knowledgeable and helped every way they could.

We couldn't have asked for a better builder. The whole homebuying experience, from the first day of appointment to see their available plans to closing was just so unbelievably smooth. They were quick to address our concerns every step of the whole process, and most importantly they were true to their words. The quality and the style of the home is what l love the most. There has not been one person that came into our home that did not openly admire the beauty and quality of the workmanship. If we have to buy again, we'll definitely go with Highland homes.

I was impressed with the way Highland Home handled the buying process from the beginning to closing. They worked with me through out the whole process. I never regret buying through them.

I’ve sold quite a few Highland Homes and when the time came to get our new home we knew exactly what builder we wanted. And HH did not disappoint. Great team all around!

Sales team is good and the experience was great. The building team is not as responsive. Overall, the quality of workmanship is good.

Gay Lynne our sales associate was fantastic. Micheal S was our gc/ builder and he was fantastic as well. Overall experience was above expectations.

I’ll start by saying that HH was by no means terrible and in the end we are very happy with our home and it’s beautiful and the finishes HH offers are all very nice. That being said, my biggest gripe with HH is likely that I came in with higher expectations having built homes in the past with other builders in different states where the process was exceptional. I came in expecting the same and HH fell short. Everything eventually got done and taken care of but it involved a lot more leg work and follow up on my end to ensure things were getting done and were correct ( there were several errors.) In the end the attention to detail and lack of communication at all levels Sales, construction manager and HH loans was disappointing, but to their credit they have for the most part been responsive and taken care of everything once I followed up. I can’t imagine how this would go for a first time home building customer not knowing what to look for and/or what to ask. ... More
