Thus far, myself & my wife do like & enjoy our new Highland Home. Furthermore, though with the issues we have had since our March 6th move in … has been problematic at times. The Builder management team has been very responsive & professional in helping getting the maintenance issues resolved & inspected when I have communicated house defects to them. I wish as also my wife does, that interior painting was not done cheaply with the paint that came with. And instead had a gloss to paint and a different color tone instead of the powder base white it has. But overall we love the house.

I recently built and closed a home with Highland Homes. Overall, the home turned out well, and I’m happy with the end result, but the process required active involvement to get everything to the right standard. What went well Home quality: The overall structure and layout are strong. The final look is clean and modern with the right selections. Design options: The design center offers a solid range of choices to create a cohesive finish. Timeline: Construction and closing stayed mostly on track. Responsiveness and service: This is where they did very well. The team responded quickly to issues and worked to resolve them without much pushback. Even larger items were addressed, which I appreciated. Areas for improvement Finish quality and workmanship: Painting quality was below expectation and required multiple touch-ups after move-in Sheetrock had visible imperfections that needed correction Some finishing details lacked consistency Post-close issues: Backyard grading and drainage concerns Sprinkler zones not functioning properly Uneven sod and soft spots in parts of the yard Subcontractor consistency: Trades like painting, drywall, and landscaping did not always match the quality of the main build Design center guidance: While options are good, the guidance during selection could be stronger I had to rely heavily on my own research to make the right long-term decisions Warranty expectations: Some items are only addressed if they meet specific thresholds, which may not always align with homeowner expectations Advice for future buyers Stay involved throughout the build Pay close attention to paint, drywall, and finishing before closing Check irrigation and grading carefully Do your own research during design selections Raise issues early and clearly Overall Highland Homes delivers a strong end product, and their team stands behind their work when issues are raised. The overall construction process started off well, and communication during the build phase was appreciated. Weekly updates and photos helped us stay connected since we were not local. Unfortunately, the final stages of the process were disappointing. Before closing, we hired a third-party inspector who identified several items that needed attention. During the final walkthrough, we expected those items to be reviewed carefully with us, but the walkthrough felt rushed and lasted only a short time. Many of the inspection items were not properly reviewed or explained in detail during the visit. After moving forward, we also noticed concerns with the finishing quality in several areas of the home, including electrical fixtures, lighting placement, and cosmetic finishing details that did not meet the expectations we had for a home at this price point. Some items were later described as upgrades, but as buyers we feel more clarity should have been provided upfront regarding standard finishes and options. To their credit, the team did respond after concerns were raised and communication remained professional throughout the process. However, we believe the final quality-control process and homeowner walkthrough experience need significant improvement to better match the expectations of future homeowners. ... More

Our entire process from start to finish was more than We expected Highland Homes was with Us every step of the way I didn’t think it would be possible when they set the closing date but they did everything to make it possible and just like that it happened and We’re very pleased with our New Home We shop several new homes and out of all the homes We saw Highland Homes was the best We highly recommended Highland Homes to anyone looking to buy a New Home

From the very beginning of our search in Goodland, we knew we wanted to build our home there. When we learned that Highland Homes would be building in the community, it made our decision even easier. We quickly connected with our sales counselor, Monica, who introduced us to the Highland experience. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and made the entire process seamless from the start. Once construction began, we had the pleasure of working with Luis, our builder. He was incredibly attentive, communicative, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. Luis consistently kept us informed on progress and timelines, and he was always mindful of our preferences and needs. Knowledgeable and professional personnel and builder

I decided to buy a home with highland because of all the wonderful model homes they have and the reputation of the builder. When I initially went to the new house I noticed that there was trash everywhere. In front of the house and inside. I think the construction workers have absolutely no respect for the homes they’re building. Also the materials ordered looked used, raggedy and worn. It’s like they took materials from an old house and used them. The painting is horrendous. Not sure who the paint team is but it’s definitely not the people that built the model home. The model home is misleading. They want you to believe that your home can be built of the same quality but in fact it won’t. It doesn’t help that the corporate office is super rude and rushing the workers to finish the job for closing. People at corporate need to understand that it takes time to build a house and the more you rush the construction the sloppier the house which leads to more complaints. Then when you’re telling the construction team what to correct they’re in such a rush to correct that they’re messing up other places in the house and spilling paint in the carpet and on furniture. Not a pleasant experience. If I could go back I would choose a Perry Home instead. I regret the day I trusted Highland to build my dream home. Once you lock into buying with Highland the joy of buying a home takes a fast decline. I had a better quality home when I purchased a Centex home. Why should people spend so much money on Highland to get Centex quality. Horrible experience. ... More

The home buying experience was a good one with Highland Homes. The few issues we have had since closing have been dealt with very quickly. Highland definitely offers a great home buying experience and product.

We are very happy with our new home. Cassie Little and Walter Draughn of the sales team were very helpful. Our construction manager Bennett Bowles was terrific. He was professional, personable and kept us in the loop on the status of the project. Any concerns we had were quickly addressed by the sales and/or construction team. We love our floor plan and are very happy with the design materials.

All aspects of this home build and purchase were excellent. Brandon and Zibah were great to work with - expectations and communications were clear and timely through whole process. Home was finished ahead of schedule. Pre and post closing interactions were responsive. We have bought and sold several homes over the years - Highland is by far the best new home partner we have had. Would highly recommend Highland Homes.

I had a fabulous time buying this house. The sale services and the interaction with construction manager were flawless. The sale coordinator was super responsive and hard working. My text and emails were answered within half hour or immediately unless she was in meetings. The construction manager did a thorough handover with touch up paint and detailed explanations of equipments/ fixtures. Landscaping was completed before move in. Unfortunately I have to take off one star because the location of the furnace. It's hidden in a cut out hole in the attic, and to service or just simply replace the filter, serviceman will need to go thru the master bedroom, and bathroom to get to the closet with a ladder (no ladder built for services). Other than this unfortunate detail, everything else points to a flawless dream house. BTW, all bathroom, kitchen sink, shower faucets are MOEN high end brand. I had a great experience building with Highland Homes, largely thanks to the builder /PM…Ryan. From start to finish, he was a pleasure to work with, always responsive, consistently available, and quick to address any concerns that came up along the way. Whenever an issue arose, Ryan didn’t just acknowledge it; he followed through and resolved it promptly. That level of communication and accountability made what can be a stressful process feel much more manageable. I’d highly recommend Highland Homes, and Ryan in particular, to anyone considering buying or building a Highland home.

Smooth process and very responsive

We’re currently renting a home in Conroe, Texas, and have really come to appreciate its white painted brick, high ceilings, and open floor plan. As we began searching for our retirement home in the Texas Hill Country, we visited Lakeside at Tessera and toured a model home. From the moment we walked in, we loved the views and instantly felt at home. When we learned the model was for sale, it felt like the perfect opportunity—and we decided to purchase it. Interestingly, we later discovered that our rental home is also a Highland home with a very similar floor plan. That connection made us even more confident in our decision. We’ve been extremely impressed with the quality of construction and attention to detail. Throughout the process, Construction Manager Ross and Sales Consultant Branka have been outstanding—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. They’ve made the entire experience seamless and have provided valuable recommendations for local services to help us get settled. I love that was able to choose my colors and other options to make it my own style! Everyone made the process smooth and stress free and very patient with all of my questions. By far the best quality compared to other home builders. I am so happy here!

All interactions withe the builder and sales staff has been a positive experience. Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a comfortable feel about the neighborhood. Everyone I have met are friendly and happy here. It is a more quiet environment with a sense of community. Highland makes everyone seem welcome.
