Our experience with the sales team from the beginning has been excellent. However, our experience with the construction and warranty department didn't align with the Highland Homes reputation at all. We would like to provide more details if contacted by Highland Homes Customer Services team, however, below are some experiences where we felt that we (as buyer) and our time were not valued at all by builder's team: After closing: * Some of the crew members didn't show up during the scheduled window (to complete the items from affidavit) and had to wait for the whole day and follow up with construction managers to get things done. * There are a couple of items from the affidavit for which we are still waiting (despite multiple reminders to the construction manager) even after more than 2 months from closing. * Had to wait for a month and also had to request multiple times in order to get a simple response (about the HVAC system invoices) from the construction manager/local warranty customer care representative. * Even though Highland Homes says that a customer care representative will contact us within two business days from submission of warranty request, so far we have not been contacted at all (and it has been 2 calendar weeks from the day of warranty request submission). Overall, our experience with the construction and warranty team so far DOES NOT encourage us to recommend Highland Homes to any of our friends/family members. Highland Homes was really great throughout the home buying process. The quality of the workmanship in Wildridge with this homebuilder is not what we expected. We built with Highland in another community and everything was great! We expected the same experience and that didn't happen. There have been so many "issues" The "issues" are not with Highland but the Trades people Highland has chosen to use in this community. The trades people Highland uses are what have caused the "issues" . Sia and Miya were horrible in the end!! The beginning was great!! Until they received our money then it was crickets, no response to any emails no returned phone calls or texts. Daniel started off slow with responding but ended up being awesome.

We had heard only good things about Highland, so we were excited about our new home purchase. However, we've had nothing but issues with the house since closing. We've had at least 6 work orders for repairs on items that were not installed correctly, already broken, or just plain shoddy craftsmanship. Flooring that's come apart, cracked tile and leaking in the showers, carpet that is not nailed down and is exposing wood underneath, dishwasher with no proper padding or insulation, uneven walls and baseboards throughout, bent air vents, broken window latches, uneven flooring with lumps throughout the carpeted areas. We find new items each day. It is clear now that the house was built as quickly as possible, with little to no attention to the details that make buying a new home so rewarding. I don't think we would ever purchase a Highland home again knowing what we know now. Cheap labor + fast build + poor products in the home = a really disappointed buyer who now has to keep pouring money into an already expensive home. Highland Homes builds a great product! Their architecture, design and finish out are amazing. We went from a fully custom home to an inventory home, and it was a near flawless transition. I would recommend them to anyone. I would not recommend their Home loans, but as a builder they are amazing!

From signing the initial paperwork to closing, the entire process went smooth. Larry, Arianna and Kel were the utmost professionals. All questions were answered quickly and the quality of my new home exceeded my expectations. I have built 3 homes with various builders and would rate Highland at the top of the list.

My wife and I bought this home as our retirement home. We have had nothing but disappointment since we moved in. Dings and a chip in the bathtub, 3 dents in the garage door. They used the cheapest materials and poorest workmanship I’ve ever seen. Now in our retirement years we need to go through and replace everything. Very disappointed.

Very unsatisfied with the responsiveness of our contractor at Veramendi location. Many of the same issues were brought up multiple times with clear communication on our end regarding quality of workmanship and incomplete work. The contractor would make excuses and often times would not even be aware that the various tradesmen never showed up to complete work. Disappointed to see on our final walkthrough that several of these issues still remained unresolved. Weeks after moving in we are still trying to complete the list and take time off from our busy schedules to be available for the work to be completed or re-done correctly. Frustrating. ... More

Too many issues not built for durability. Lots of issues with sheet rock finish, trim finish, leve 1 quartz had finish issues, door handles keeps poping out, concrete finish is sub par. Overall thry just using the brand and contractors they used to built homes is not doing good job

I love my Highland home! It was such an easy process from start to finish- everyone at Highland Homes was so kind. I highly recommend Highland Homes.

Good experience with the builder. He worked with us each and every step in building our new home. Would definitely use them again if to rebuild. Thank you so much Highland homes. Dalton and Tim were Great to work with.

We are a return client for Highland, having bought our first home in the DFW metroplex in 2014. It was a great experience in 2014 and even better in 2022, when we signed the contract for our preferred single-level plan that very few builders offer at this scale and quality. Starring from the sales interaction to the build out, everything was centered in what would make sense for the buyer and responded to from that perspective from Highland. We continue to be a very satisfied return client.

Not Great experience with Highland Homes

I am so impressed with Highland Homes, and could not be any happier with the entire experience! Gracie, Matthew, Crickett & Clint were all fantastic to work with. I appreciate how helpful and responsive they were throughout the process. We are in love with our Highland Home!! Thank you : )

Day 1, sewer backed up and circuit breaker for refrigerator had to be replaced. A few days later no hot water, all flow orifices had to be removed to get sufficient flow for water heaters. This is due to the way the water heaters were installed. Wrong size circuit breaker installed for double oven. White spray paint on exterior of sliding doors and Highland will not address. Breakfast area window needed to be replaced, damaged during installation but no one told anyone. No soft close hinges on cabinet doors (HH saved $200 on that one). Black marks on white door trim from door hardware, told this was normal. I replaced all strike plates and now fixed, HH saved $40 on that. Laundry room cabinets installed so high as to not be useable, I lowered them. No cabinet pulls in Study, Laundry Room or other bathrooms. Water heaters installed as far away from kitchen and Master Bath as could be. Will need hot water recirculation. I am still crawling on the floor with a wet toothbrush getting white paint out of woodgrain. Reset exterior door strikes so door came into contact with weatherstripping. Trim carpenters don't deserve to be called carpenters. Nicks on door trim behind hinges throughout that were not filled, just painted over. Electrolux appliances not worth whatever you paid for them. Patio exterior outlet in a location that makes it unusable. Master Bath makeup vanity wall outlet installed INSIDE a cabinet. Had to shim the rear wheel of refrigerator due to floor being out of level so much. We apparently expected too much. ... More

My husband and I built a new home from scratch and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The sales and construction team took the time and care to answer any questions in a timely manner. Best customer service. We are so happy and proud to have a Highland Home!!

We have lived in our new highland home for a few months now and are absolutely thrilled every day we get to wake up in it. From start to finish Highland has been professional, easy to reach and demonstrate quality on every corner of the experience. We have had a few small things to warranty and they have been nothing but understanding and on top of it. I can not reccomend this company enough! Thank you highland for such an amazing experience
