Going into buying a home, we were thrilled to choose Highland Homes. After the process we have gone through I would not recommend to anyone based on quality of workmanship and repetitive issues with work being incomplete or done poorly. Overall a very poor experience.

The entire experience has been great. When issues arise they are quickly addressed.

The quality of the house is awesome. I am very pleased and had no problems. Everyone was very professional.

The entire team from sales office to closing, and beyond was absolute incredible. If I needed to purchase a home again in the future, Highland Homes will always be at the top of the list! I had a very easy experience and they made it incredibly simple for me as a first time buyer.

It’s been great experience

Highland homes overall construction is better than many builders but the experience we had was not the best. Cannot trust - they did not allow same garage door color for us since 2 houses from us had same color but allowed exact same floor plan as us next door ! And not only that this next door and their next door has same garage color and same white painted brick ! We had to struggle to get things right during construction process. Post closing also noticing that last minute stuff was all done like patches.

Every door knob has fallen off, the hardware is so cheap. 4 toilets and every handle is missing pieces in the back. Washers missing. It’s embarrassing to bring people in to my home. The toilets and tubs backed up in 1st week. The stench of sewage was something we had to live with for a month, with a one year old and three year old. The worst thing is I have kids and the rails have fallen through upstairs. Allowing the ability for one of my kids to fall through the railing. Can provide time stamped pics for everything. The water heaters were not working for the 1st month of ownership. They were replaced. My kids had to bathe at a family members home for weeks. The lack of insulation is insane. Not only for sound but the cold. I have a thermal camera for hunting and looked at the wall and laughed. ... More

overall supervision of the trades was weak. many mistakes were made and not caught or addressed in a timely manner resulting in very poor fixes made late in the process. overall fit and finish of the home is poor. home was started months later than expected and process took longer than it should have. we are still in the process of having items repaired/finished months after closing. I am being left to manage the trades. I would not recommend Highland homes to other buyers

I would never buy a Highland home again and would recommend anyone buying a new home to find another builder. The sales team is unresponsive, the Highland lending team (which they incentivize you to use) is incompetent, and the quality of work for the actual house is far less quality than you would expect for paying such a high price. We’ve had multiple things wrong with the house, damage to our personal property, and 2 months in to purchasing the house we still have so many things to fix. I wish we never bought a home from Highland and I will never again.

Not a good buying experience with Highland Homes. They were not forthcoming re lending and Sales Manager Margaret D. was never available and when she was she was not helpful. We made some bad decisions and are in a Highland Home which is a result of those decisions. The building contract managers were great and extremely helpful as was the assistant sales manager Kelly A. Otherwise extremely difficult experience.

Highland Homes are beautiful but they seem to lack the quality a home at this price point deserves. From small things like caulking, cabinets, landscaping and heating and cooling. The buyer really has to pay attention to the whole home. I feel like I needed an inspector with me as I went thru the home. Highland has a great reputation but the experience was a major let down. There should be a quality manager that ensures the workmanship meets Highland Homes standards and reputation.

From the beginning, Highland Homes truly took care of our family. Both Mac and Stephanie in the sales department aided us in our selection of homes and guided us through options to make our home a reality. Amanda, Karen, and Arati took care of the financing and truly were innovative in finding ways to ensure a successful closing. Keith, by far, has been the best representation of the quality and standard that Highland Homes promotes to new buyers. His attention to detail, oversight, care and responsiveness really demonstrated the character of Highland Homes. If we move again, we will most definitely choose to build with Highland Homes. Truly this company aim to please their clients. The initial encounter with the office team is the critical part, they will layout the options given your price range and patiently assisting you.

This is my families 4th Highland home purchase. Two for my wife and I and two of my daughters built with Highland. I’m a realtor so I know the choices available and we wouldn’t build with anyone else.

Danny, my builder was great from day one. Attentive, attention to detail, explained process and time frames - very good at communicating. He was also very patient with me and my million questions. Build was finished faster than expected and better than I expected. I appreciated all of Highland Home, but Danny especially.

John Hayes, our highland homes construction manager exceeded and continues to exceed our expectations on what a construction manager does. He provided inisight, suggestions and provided us with peace of mind that our home was being built with the upmost care. We build a strong relationship throughout the process and i know we will keep this relationship moving forward.Cannot stress enough hoe impactful John was and continues to be. I know that there are awards given to exceptional representatives and want to make sure that John is nominated for builder/construction manager of the year.

It was easy to by they respond to things really fast that need to be fixed nice house.

My fourth home build - and my worst. The quality of the workmanship is very poor.

Our superintendent Blake was awesome! Monica and Sydney were a pleasure to work with. They all took care of us while trying to build a home while still living over 2.5 hours away. Highland Homes was a very accommodating builder which was much appreciated.

We were sold the idea we were buying a high end or quality build. However, the home has been problem after problem so far and the builder in our opinion cut many corners during the build process . There seems to be little to no focus on build quality or craftsmanship.

Remarkable experience from start to finish. Special shout out to Bryn, Rachel and Blake. Truly an “A” team of expert professionals that also understand you have to care about customer before selling a home.

This was our second Highland Home. Planning on it being our last, the initial experience was good, but went down hill with a temporary showroom and lack luster selection. Then our Construction Manager was out sick from just after foundation pour till a month before closing. Never the less they kept building, we would walk through on weekends and notice that there was work going on but under no real supervision. Needless to say there were issues but luckily I contracted a home inspector. We wish people were honest and trustworthy but at the end of the day I don’t know what I’m looking at and it’s a lot of money we are paying for to have second rate contractors while being charged at a level of licensed contractors. As we got closer to closing we come and find out that we requested matching hutch and they didn’t submit the request in time so we didn’t get what we originally agreed to and are stuck with someone else’s mistake of being overwhelmed with paperwork and fill other people jobs. Currently going through the house getting ready to submit repairs orders just having to deal with this can be overwhelming.
