I found a gem of a home that was well built, comfortable, and a fantastic value. The sales process was trouble free.

As a home buying experience Highland was able to answer any questions, great neighborhood and amenities. Some work was an issue in the beginning, but was quickly fixed! Overall, very satisfied with our home.

The friendliness and responsiveness have been phenomenal. The environment of community is beyond family oriented.

Recommend you go with a different builder. Our experience = we are the quality control for Highland Homes. When we bring up the too many to list issues on this forum with our home, we are told it will be fixed & then ignored. It appears to us that they are building to many homes simultaneously & ignoring the poor craftsmanship of their subcontractors after the paperwork is signed.

Working with our salesman, Hector, was great. He could be working on 10 projects and never miss a beat! Our builder, David, made great effort to accommodate our wishes-even when they couldn’t get our first choices in tile. They ripped a whole section out to redo tile to keep our original vision. After moving in, there have been the inevitable kinks. I’ve been impressed with every worker who has come back to make things right.

My wife and I recently built with Highland Homes, and they truly are an excellent production builder, but in this brutally honest review, they are, indeed, a production builder. Our builder was amazing, helped us with some custom requests, and the construction process seemed to go pretty seamlessly. The reason I ding them an overall star is for the closing process with the home. Nothing to do with their mortgage company, or any surprises, however the cleaning company they use to get the house ready for closing day was an absolute atrocity. We found window screens ajar outside, with some windows being a crack open. No actual cleaning of the cabinets / floors, and the 8k we paid in window shades was done, and it was just a disapointing end to a rather great experience otherwise. The other thing is the amount of issues that were missed during the walkthroughs, which I can take blame for. We had some water leaking from our master shower, we had a couple of irrigation leaks for our sprinkles, and a lot of nonsense issues that you have to call customer care for to have taken care of on a work order. They do respond timely, but to have 8-10 work orders after you move in just adds to the stress. Seems as though the trades install things, but don't actively test to ensure everything is working correctly. My advice to Highland is that if you have customers who are moving into $700,000+ homes, make them feel like you cared enough to have them ready. ... More

Everything from the purchase price, walk through, mortgage, closing, and checking in after closing were so seamless and perfect. They took such great care of me. It’s my second highland home and I’m happy to be back in one!

There were some issues after closing but all were addressed within first 45 days.

Overall experience with Highland Homes was great and the builder was friendly, knowable, and on top of getting our home ready for the closing date. I would definitely recommend purchasing a Highland home to family and friends it's been a great journey into our forever home and loving our home! One final suggestion I would recommend to Highland is never rush to complete a home because workmanship can never be rushed and errors will appear from their work, but ours have been resolved and appreciate Doug resolving those issues.

Hello, we had high expectations as to the quality of home and work it will be done to the home we bought in detail from wall caulking to door paints etc. The drain was already clogged in master. No proper inspection is done. Builder claims someone came after their inspection and dumpped some garbage so funny. I asked for report showing the master bath is inspected. The water does to the corner and stacks the board they are using is not level this is very basic to make sure to turn on the water in the shower and make sure it properly drains and doesnt stack in the corner. They clearly failed and now they want to break everything up and reopen the base and properly level it and redo the tile work on the walls and rehook up the door this is just nuisance in the middle if school year. We love our dream home. Andrew and Avery at 6 Creeks in Kyle did an amazing job. They kept us in the loop and were so responsive to our questions and needs. Even after the purchase they have been a phone call or text away and will assist without hesitation. You don’t typically see that after the check has been signed.

Highland Homes has been taking too long fixing things around the house under warranty. Some items were detected before closing and few months later we are still waiting for these items to be fixed. Builder’s grade quality items and attention to detail is almost none. Highland homes says they contact the owner within 48 hours to fix warranty claims, it has been months, with both phone calls and emails, we are still waiting.

Kathi - the selling agent and her team - was incredible! She went above and beyond to help everything go smoothly! Ryan the builder, was great up front, but there are things that still need to be done to the home that were on the closing list from June. The response to complete that list has been a little lacking.

Great sales team, helped us through every phase. Not everything was finished at closing and construction supervisor promised everything would be done very soon. Over 2 months later we still have a lot to be done. Funny how once they have their money very little, other than empty promises, happens. I wonder when they’ll get around to fixing the details???

This experience was perfect for me. Every wish was fulfilled and timely. All the services of the home was taken care of by knowledgeable trade personal. I had no worries and this is so important at 85 years old. Service at its very best and I love my Highland Home.

Our experience with Highland homes is exceptional . Of all the builders we visited and heard there is NO doubt that highland homes is the BEST. Right from the pre-sale discussions they have a positive vibe all the way. All areas like appointments, construction quality, detailed explanations, closing and mainly post closing discussions are taken with utmost care. When we cancelled existing highland contact and took a new one, we hoped to get that earnest transferred but it didn’t happen as it was so close to closing . It is fair on them as it is so close but that was the only thing we would have wished. Would like to mention Michelle and Tom as one of the best in helping our initial discussions. Quality is horrible. Sloppy work. Overpriced. Will Not recommend. House is up for sale. Too many problems.Going to Toll Brothers. Will not recommend!

The home buy experience was very easy. It was less stressful then other homes we have bought. The quality of a Highland home is amazing. They take the time to show you how to operate all the modern convenience.

Helpful in the beginning. However, once we paid off for our unit the response got somehow slower. A lot slower i might add. Depends on your personal standards. I , personally wish they would focus more on detail. Life is made out of small things anyway and for or the $ they asked for our house we expected more serious professional kind of service. We paid for our unit 100% in full. Thank G.. we didn't have major issues like AC, Roof, Water, Foundation, or a anything of the kind. Generally speaking, my impression was a"spotty" kind of service,if there is such a category. A lots of room for improvement in the communication, job quality, responsiveness, and finishing department. Too bad but that's the truth. You hear a lots of " yes, no problem " but the reality is 87.5 % of the time you don't get the service you expect for the $ you paid in the beginning. But they are nice guys. We had a very smooth home buying experience with Highland. Our home was under construction when we bought it, so most selections had been made. We were, however, able to make a few changes that were important to us, and that process was very easy. Karen sent photos of progress on a weekly basis, and was quick to respond whenever we had questions. Our project manager changed during construction, and the transition to the new project manager went very well. Amilcar was very responsive and easy to work with. We also enjoyed working with Will. We really love our home and are happy that we chose Highland. The only minor disappointment has been the landscaping. Deer are very fond of many of the front yard plants, and much of the sod has struggled to become fully established. Most of this is not under Highland's control, but I think consideration should be given to installing deer resistant plants in the front. On the plus side, both front and back yard were fully landscaped so we could focus on moving in and we didn't have to worry about finishing up the yard. Overall, Highland builds very nice homes, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. ... More
